Date: June 6, 2017 - It's very important that people who are considering moving into this building understand what has transpired over the last 4-6 Months. One of the best owners/property management companies RedPeak unfortunately sold OneCityBlock to Deutsche Asset Management of Germany, who in turn hired the one of the absolute worse property management companies Greystar (google them, they're so horrible it's almost sad). Since Greystar has taken over control of OCB, they have done nothing but live up to their awful reputation. After the first month, a rough transition turned into a downward spiral. The community board online is constantly filled with tenants voicing their concerns, which is then followed up by Greystar's timely excuses and passive aggressive responses. A building which was once held at high regard by its tenants and management is now, to be blunt, turning into a craphole. Overall cleanliness is at an all-time low building wide and when they finally get someone to clean, the dense odor from the cleaning products overwhelmingly fills every hall and elevator. Key fobs access is routinely down. A package system, which was promised to tenants, was never set up and now packages are being left out in the building, often going missing. Common areas are never kept to the previous standard. Community internet access is no longer reliable let alone working. Once a month we get an email apologizing for Greystar's resident utility/payment system being down or broken. Our hot tub hasn't been available in three months. To top it all off this past weekend the garage was compromised and multiple cars were broken into.
Side note, if you are a local vendor working for Greystar, please be aware that they refuse to take any responsibility for delays or issues in the building and always throw you under the bus.
There is absolutely something to be said about the tenant's responsibility in all of this, but these issues truly start with management. When a management company does not hold its building or more importantly, its own staff to a high standard, they can only expect the same from their tenants.
I would STRONGLY recommend you avoid this building at all cost. Any 5 star reviews you've seen in the past four months are most likely not from a current tenant or even someone who walked through the building. Hopefully with some true reviews out there, their corporate level management or the building owner will actually make a change.
