Date: June 6, 2017 - It's very important that people who are considering moving into this building understand what has transpired over the last 4-6 Months. One of the best owners/property management companies RedPeak unfortunately sold OneCityBlock to Deutsche Asset Management of Germany, who in turn hired the one of the absolute worse property management companies Greystar (google them, they're so horrible it's almost sad). Since Greystar has taken over control of OCB, they have done nothing but live up to their awful reputation. After the first month, a rough transition turned into a downward spiral. The community board online is constantly filled with tenants voicing their concerns, which is then followed up by Greystar's timely excuses and passive aggressive responses. A building which was once held at high regard by its tenants and management is now, to be blunt, turning into a craphole. Overall cleanliness is at an all-time low building wide and when they finally get someone to clean, the dense odor from the cleaning products overwhelmingly fills every hall and elevator. Key fobs access is routinely down. A package system, which was promised to tenants, was never set up and now packages are being left out in the building, often going missing. Common areas are never kept to the previous standard. Community internet access is no longer reliable let alone working. Once a month we get an email apologizing for Greystar's resident utility/payment system being down or broken. Our hot tub hasn't been available in three months. To top it all off this past weekend the garage was compromised and multiple cars were broken into.

Side note, if you are a local vendor working for Greystar, please be aware that they refuse to take any responsibility for delays or issues in the building and always throw you under the bus.

There is absolutely something to be said about the tenant's responsibility in all of this, but these issues truly start with management. When a management company does not hold its building or more importantly, its own staff to a high standard, they can only expect the same from their tenants.

I would STRONGLY recommend you avoid this building at all cost. Any 5 star reviews you've seen in the past four months are most likely not from a current tenant or even someone who walked through the building. Hopefully with some true reviews out there, their corporate level management or the building owner will actually make a change.

This is a wonderful apartment. The complex is clean, management is fair and understanding, all staff are friendly and welcoming, and the amenities, location, and price are unbeatable. You won't find a better value in Denver when looking for modern, luxury apartments. One leasing agent Nobel even remembers every residents name! I highly recommend this apartment.

Best place I've lived in around Denver. Very well maintained. I had to cancel my lease on short notice for a job, but even then they were incredibly helpful. I would still be living here if I didn't work 45 miles north.

Location is great and some of the staff are very kind, however this building has some of the worst soundproofing I ve experienced in an apartment. They tell you they get very few noise complaints, but take it from this and the other reviews. You never really know about these things until you stay overnight, so look into a building with better construction quality. They also ignore your calls and emails so if you ever need anything you basically have to try and track them down in the office. If you d rather not deal with rowdy neighbors and management that just wants your money, look elsewhere.

tl;dr you can do a lot better in Denver.

tl;dr you can do a lot better in Denver.

Location
Maybe one of the biggest perks- if you work downtown it's nice that work is just a walk away. Just a note that comes a heavy homeless presence- I've had some uncomfortable interactions after dark around the building and have been followed into the building before.

Building
Definitely far from soundproof, heard every step my upstairs neighbor took. The amenities are fine, but I had been promised a few (mainly the rooftop grills) that finally opened 9 months after I signed my lease despite being highlighted as a great amenity I'd have access to.

Also carpets were soiled and gross, nobody really cleaned up after their pets (especially once all the pandemic pups came)

Neighbors
One of the worst parts (in my opinion). If you want to live with a bunch of people that never outgrew their frat/sorority days, you might enjoy it. A ton of partying, loud music, yelling, etc. which also all continued to occur after the pandemic hit. Also absolutely nobody in the building had any respect by wearing a mask in common spaces.

Apartment
The apartment itself is fine, but really overpriced. The appliances are mediocre and the space is nice enough, it's just super small for the cost. Just know you're mainly paying for amenities/location to downtown.

Management
The staff was always pretty friendly and maintenance would always come reasonably quickly if there were issues.

They did take away half of my security deposit without giving any reason why which was disappointing.

Overall the building itself isn't terrible, it's just overpriced and attracted a really obnoxious crowd. If you're going to be spending a ton of money on a small apartment, I think there are a ton of better options around Denver.

One City Block (OCB) is great place to live. The Staff at OCB have been awesome! Always there to help me out when needed. Great facilities and the pool area is like a resort. Lets not take things for granted. We have a great neighborhood with great people, great restaurants and lounges. A great area of the city that is so close to down town but far enough from all the city noise.
