Great rooftop patio, and bar. An amazing place to spend a summer evening in downtown Portland.
Great rooftop patio, and bar. An amazing place to spend a summer evening in downtown Portland.
Went to the On Deck with friends and had an awesome time! Watched the game, had great food and drinks and the service was amazing! The outdoor patio is huge and a great spot for any occasion. We will definitely be regulars at this cool spot in the pearl!
The sports bar The employees The location The place. If you ask me will you go back...my reply is Heck YES. I've been to this place for games networking and just hanging out. Hands down one of my favorite places in Portland. Best part you look around and it's Portland. It feels good to feel at home, the menu even tells you where you are
The best thing about this place is it is lined with Apple trees that have delicious apples you can eat. Okay little bar on a roof. We have to sit in cheap plastic lawn furniture outside. Great nachos.
Great outdoor seating, reasonable prices, and well located.
It s a great space with yummy bar food, and reasonably priced beer. I will say, it s very silly to have one server on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. The server did his best, but service should have been a tad bit quicker. Will be back over the summer when the roof is open.
A lot of TVs. Service was good. Enjoyed the BLTA WRAP. No special on Saturday only drawback. Other than that very nice.
Went there for a rehearsal dinner. Great food and fantastic selection of local beers
Loud, old TV's and your typical not so good bar food. Disappointing considering the location of the sports bar. You would expect downtown quality but must settle for less.
Good place to watch a game and get a burger if you are NW Portland. Lots of Tvs, and food that isn't terribly expensive.
It's a sports bar with a big ol' deck outside. There is a ton of seating, the food was okay and the drink selection was okay. The location is on the outskirts of the Pearl District but close enough to other businesses and restaurants if you are looking to crawl around different spots. Watching sporting events here is enjoyable as the atmosphere lends itself to group sportball-watching events.
This place is what it is, a solid rooftop bar. Killer happy hour too.
Don't expect much from the food, but the chicken fingers are pretty good. Staff is nice but the GM strikes me as a bit grumpy (although it might have just been an off day).
Correction: must have not been the GM! It was a "she" and "the boss." On Deck replied that the GM is a "he." Anyways, doesn't matter, the staff is overall solid.
The only legit sports bar in town. Awesome service, great food.
Great bar! Amazing outdoor area! Don't be fooled by it's entrance, super classy and clean.
Very quiet and mellow atmosphere. They have Toronto raptor games when other bars close by don't carry it
Great time, their patio is HUGE! Their food was fantastic, I recommend a burger, the wings and mozz sticks. Friendly service and ready to go if you have a big group.
Although the bartender was nice, their service is slow at the bar and around the patio. The place was only about half full so it wasn't even that busy.
This is THE place to go to watch sports in the Pearl. They've got plenty of affordable, easy food and drink with tons of TVs. Quick service and friendly staff make this place a no brainer. Just make sure to get there early if there's a big game on; it's not exactly a secret.
cool spot to grab a brew after the gym or work in the pearl district. lots of on tap brews. this place actually has breakside IPA :-)
Good appetizers, great rooftop space for large groups.
Nice location, chicken strips could have been better.
Nice place for a beer and food after work. Staff is very friendly even when I tracked mud in from job I was working on
Great place when it's not busy. Can't stand it when it is...
Pretty good spot to watch some sports and I can imagine that the large deck is fun in the summer. Can't speak about too much else though as the food was just your usual bar food and service was just your usual sports bar service.
$1 Taco Tuesdays are pretty great, because who doesn't like dollar tacos. This is a bar, the food is passable when there is alcohol involved.
Me and some friends went to watch a blazers game a a few days ago. The beer selection was very good many different local micro brews and the appetizers were great. Service was good. I also liked that there was a TV at every angle so viewing the game was easy. Would recommend.
It's an interesting location and has tons of room. The food and drink options are typical of a divey sports bar, so don't expect too much and you'll have a decent time.
Great venue for football. Our service was really good and the food was good too.
Food and drinks are great!! But Jade the bartender is amazing.
Great food, great happy hour, great patio and awesome staff. They saved my $300 vest for me that I left behind- A+ for integrity and service.
Your typical sports bar: huge, lots of tvs, and average pub food.
Best deck in the Pearl District. Food is sports bar fare but the prices are good and if you are looking for a spot with a lot of TVs, this is it!
Maybe I'm just the exception but by far the worst customer service. The server has no respect. The owner is just the same, he was standing right next to the server and did not bother to say aanything. I wanted to yell at them but I need to keep my peace I am afraid they will spit on our food for our office gathering.
Once we get our food I will let the office know we can't ever order from this place again.
Large bar but thinly staffed, especially when the outdoor patio is open in good weather. Average food quality with a couple of good items (like tater tots).
Great atmosphere and the staff was amazing. Good food as well.
This place is great! They have friendly staff and on a nice day you can enjoy the outdoor seating.
Awesome place friendly staff and great service!!! Definitely go again
Great decor for a sports bar, decent food and nice service
It was okay. I probably wouldn't go by my own choosing, but I wouldn't complain if friends wanted to go.
Great outdoor seating, but service is TERRIBLE. Servers are rude and slow. Much better options in Portland.
Cools spot. Nice to get away from the hum drum of the normal type of DT spots. Plus it's round.
Nice sports bar with ALL the games! Food was decent and service was good.
Tons of TVs! Beer selection is ok and their cajon tots are great.
Nice patio area for outside seating. Big spacious bar. Drinks were fine, bartender was nice. Food was just ok.
Great for large parties and obviously sporting events. Super friendly staff and a nice group of regulars help round out this popular pearl district spot.
This place is never open during posted hours. The staff never welcomes guest and it is regularly vandalized.
Best place in town I have found to watch NFL games...great AM menu for kickoff, TV's everywhere...and actually up on a Deck...who would of thought??? LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
Since we moved to Portland in early 2018, On Deck has been a staple in our outtings. This place is a sports bar that does get very busy, but the staff does a great job of attending to their customers as quickly as possible. The managers, Jade and Casey, are outstanding folks and have been so warm and welcoming no matter how busy or slow the resturant has been! The food is great and their alcohol selection is always solid. I highly recommend this place. Being in the area of Portland On Deck is, I have seen a variety of situations and people come in, but each situation is handled appropriately and with care to policy. Be sure to say hey to them when you go! :)
The deck alone is worth 5 stars. Awesome staff and good food.
Convenient location, lots of screens to watch sports but the food was okay.
One of the better bars for sports viewing in downtown, but I wish the food was better. I have been going here since it opened and they can't seem to find the right combo of food and price. First it was super fancy and expensive, then typical bar food, then it appeared they hit their stride with a better than average menu, if a little expensive. Unfortunately it wasn't to last. I went there this weekend and there is again a new menu and it is a lot cheaper, but the quality is down along with the price. My boyfriend had the meatball sandwich which was pretty good, but the fries were cold and unsalted. I ordered the Grand Slam Chicken which came out as grilled chicken with cheddar and bacon, but no toppings. It was dry and really needed the typical burger toppings with it - lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato. The cajun tots I ordered were cold and the seasoning mediocre. I don't know why the menu was changed, but it isn't for the better. I like this place just fine as a sports bar, but with such great food options in this town I won't be choosing to eat there again any time soon
Good food, games on a dozen screens. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Average bar food. Decent taps and good service. If you want a standard bar to watch sports this is it.
The only reason to go here is to be part of a rowdy crowd or enjoy sitting out in the sun without having to wait for a table to open up. The beer selection is limited and prices are about par for the Pearl. It works adequately as a central meeting location for people and fills that niche of being one of the few dedicated sports bars with lots of TVs in the area. Find somewhere else that will be showing the game(s) you're interested in if you're looking for great beer and food.
Jade is one of the best bartenders in town, and this is such a great place to watch football! Living in a neighborhood where most bars are devoid of TVs, the ones that do show games are usually cramped and dark. This place is big and open, even on the most packed football Sundays it doesn t feel claustrophobic. The service is great, Jade is so fast and she is extremely courteous. The food is great too!! Overall just a great place to hang out!
Hosted an event and was allowed to bring my photo booth! Awesome staff and beautiful view!
I wasn't going to post, but since you requested feedback - the rating is largely due to the amount of conversation regarding current and past customers that could be overheard by servers throughout the day. I understand back of the house conversations will occur - perhaps strive to keep these to the back of the house.
In response to the owner's reply. I was unaware of a death of a regular. I did become aware of which sections were making money, how certain people had to be kicked out the night before, how certain customers needed to be dealt with, and how people were chugging pitchers on the patio, which was none of my business.
Super crowded, beer served in plastic cups, and long waits in between servers. It's probably just the result of being a popular destination in a very dense area (downtown), rather than poor wait-staff, but certainly not a great experience in any case.
Hosted an event there over the weekend and he staff are great!
As the names suggests there is a really great deck but since it was raining we ate inside.
The place smell kinda like a urinal..... interior was good for a sports bar though.
Our waiter was not friendly.... more indifferent than anything.
I got a U of P Pilot Burger and fries. It was good but not enough for me to come back.
Nice outdoor patio. Happy hour specials. Good beer selection. Good, but not great food.
Among the best sports bars in Portland. Great tap list, good staff, good food. LOTS of screens.
HORRIBLE customer service! Upon entering, my aunt was immediately refused service, and told that they don't allow homeless patrons. First of all, my aunt is not homeless but good on The Employee (sarcasm) for immediately profiling and being a real piece of work while doing that!
When my aunt realized The Employee (Jade, I think) was not joking and had in fact accused her incorrectly, she began to film while asking why she was being kicked out. TE then tried to physically slap the phone out of my aunt's hand- like what?? That's personal property. TE then called the cops to remove my aunt, who was calm and collected through it all, INCLUDING TE's attempt to smack the phone. None of TE's accusations were true but she clung to them throughout her tirade against my aunt. All on video.
Poor service indeed, and judging by the other reviews, poor service is what this establishment routinely doles out. Will be sure to skip this restaurant when in town, and will be highly recommending all my friends and family and social media friends do the same.
UPDATE: the morning of the next business day, On Deck Sports Bar has deleted/removed their Facebook rather than address the reviews and comments re: this incident that were rolling in. Shameful way to do business, I think!
Great place. Happy hour food prices, for the portions, can't be beat! Super friendly staff, too!
Just ok. The TV'S were just set to a couple games. There was a ton going on in sports. There are too many places that don't manage sports on their TV's.
Happy hour drinks great value with many screens to watch your favorite teams
Went here to watch Monday night NFL. Food and beers were good. Attentiveness of the waiter was great. I would come back. Beer selection could use a little more variety. Otherwise a great place to visit.
Had audio for the NFL game. Awesome!
