I love OMSI. Its a great place to hang out on the weekends. The have all kinds of interactive exhibits. There is a bar where you can get beers, food and candy. There is a movie theater there too. Its elevated higher on each level so that no one is in your view. You cam also drink yout beer while you watch movies. I once saw a skate premiere there. It was awesome. I had a blast and even got a hat signed by one of the skaters. They also host OMSI AFTER DARK which i have never been to but i heard that it is fun.

Although geared for small children, my older kids and I really enjoyed our visit. On par or better than science museums in other major cities. I have to say that I think we should be doing better than just trying to tire out young kids with our science museums. They should have more for all ages and be state of the art. Perhaps our corporate citizens could give something back for all the tax breaks and incentives handed to them, while showcasing their manufacturing prowess? America can do better than just exhausting toddlers.

For adults, just OK, though kids seem to like it when they can get a chance to play with the exhibits. Many broken exhibits and kids hogging the ones that do work. Prices are just way too high for entry as well as for the food. The planetarium light show was not very good at any price and should be free as it is really dated. A trip to the zoo would be more educational I believe.

Love taking the kid to this place, and also my son. ;) It has something to offer for every age and interest. We come hear at least once a month, so the membership is well worth it. Only complaint about omsi is omsi after dark... it doesn't happen often enough and they don't seem to limit ticket sales so it is way way to crowded. Other than that this place is awesome.

O.M.S.I is great place to go if you want to learn some new basic things about science. They also have temporary exhibits that teach you things from new skateboards to mummies. I would recommend O.M.S.I. to people of all ages.

We had a lot of fun; though it's not cheap. I would recommend that you plan on going for the full day to get your money's worth. There is more than enough things to do to keep everyone busy for the day. The sub was really cool.

great exhibits: we've loved the Lego, plastic human and video game exhibits as a family. when the kids were young, I'd take them to the Indoor Playground on a weekly basis. OMSI website has some holes: exploring the Illusion exhibit it says tickets are $2/3, member/nonmembers. I click on "tickets" and there is no option for buying an Illusion ticket, just general admission, sub tour, movies, etc. Calling directly only gets me to a voicemail. In past years I've had trouble with the website signing the kids up for camps. I so wish OMSI could get their IT together so that I don't feel like I'm wasting my time!

Place is awesome,,but the anti fa protesters are always present anymore. Ruined the day when i was called a nazi in front of my children because i had a u.s.a. t shirt on. Didn't make a 6hr round-trip 2 be labeled a racist by a group dressed up like isis.

A very nice well laid out museum for adults and the younger set. Located on two floors with a submarine museum located outside on their private dock. The sub tour was fantastic. The planetarium is extra cost as is the sub tour but I'm told is a great experience. I purchased a year membership so I could bring visiting friends and family with me with the guest pass. Since I see this place across the Williamette River from where I live everyday I had never visited here. Very easy to get too by car, public transportation or walking across the Tilikum Bridge. They have a well laid out restaurant on site which can accommodate the large crowds that visit the OMSI. There are two ordering islands. The food was tasty.

OMSI is easily the best museum in Oregon. We've been members for years and are always going there for the special exhibits, adults night out (science and drinks!), and special events (Like the winter lights showcase).

Really great for kids. It's a very busy place, with more than a day full of activities to do. The King Tutankamen exhibit is great, although a little slow-paced for kids. The submarine is educational and a cool experience. There are a ton of theater shows, you should look ahead of time to see what the schedule is like for your visit.

A great place for kids, but if you're just a group of adults visiting, be prepared for crowds of kids running around everywhere. I just did the basic museum admission today. It was an okay way to spend an hour or two. If I go back, I'll check out the submarine tour and the movie theater, which both seem like they would be interesting. Nice views of the river and the city from the outside of the museum grounds. Easy access to the museum from the MAX and Portland Streetcar.

I've lived in the PNW my entire life, and OMSI used to be a treat. Now that I'm a mother myself, I feel anything but nostalgic when I walk through those doors. No matter what time you're there, everything is filthy. Most of the exhibits were either broken, under renovations, or closed. Don't expect a break in price because of this, either. Children running absolutely amok with guardians looking on as though the rest of us are supposed to find their rude behavior charming. It never is. The Tutankhamen exhibit is a farce. Well too expensive and dramatic for what it was; a series of rooms filled with copies and recreations. Great theatrics, but it's like a firecracker that never goes off. No way on earth could I ever fathom purchasing a membership to this place.

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry has always been loads of fun. My first experience with OMSI was over 30 years ago when it was still located near the Oregon Zoo. I was a child then and I was fascinated by the exhibits and various scientific demonstrations.

As an adult I have also enjoyed OMSI but notice that it hasn't made many advancements. It seems there's a great deal of room for improvement. For example, I visited a science museum in Bangalore and found that they had many more interactive exhibits and demonstrations to engage children and adults.

The worst of my observations at OMSI are regarding the use of non-vegan food at discussions of Environmental Change, and the like. Animal agriculture is the largest contributor to carbon emissions and climate change. As a museum of Science, should we not eliminate such negligent, contradictory and hypocritical practices?

Please OMSI, fascinate me like you did when I was a child but make me believe in your efforts now that I am an adult. Let's educate people on the facts.

We took my great nephews to Omsi to see the robot exhibit. It was Spring Break and crowded, but they didn't have to wait to long to participate at any of the exhibits. They especially enjoyed the all the interactive educational games. A good time was had by all.

Went here for the first time since I was a kid (and that was back when it was where the Children's museum is now). Went for the Pompeii exhibit, which was good. It's a great place for kids, but seems very pricey.

This place is always so packed, and you can tell why once inside. Activities and things to do and see for adults and kids of all ages. My son's favorite is the glittery sand in the science fun room!

I love coming here. This old fart gets to feel like a kid again. And everytime I return I spot something new and exciting. They have one of the few omnimax screens in town. And a rotating schedule for a featured exhibit. I highly recommend looking into the 21+special events.

Neat things and a money sucker. Lego exhibit commercialized with store at end. Kids like it though. Younger kids would have had good fun and less costly to go to a nice playground/park in town. Great asset to Portland, just not a place to visit often. All areas adding up $.
