Omsi bacon and bourbon is terrible, no hope of using drink or food tickets and seeing any exhibits, cost is laughable for what you get.

Toddler play space great. Nice to not need to clean up house! Exhibits havent drawn us in. Cafe ok and seating great. Not ok with no outside food...entry is too expensive and its like they dont understand kids only want THEIR food...can't hang with that overly posted angry rule at all so l just feel uncomfortable and go elsewhere.
Great learning experiences for all ages and abilites
This place was awesome for all the kids. They have something for everyone here including the parents. The general admission will get you into about 60% of the building with tons for the kids to explore. A hand full of attractions do require additional fees for entry but you can make a whole day out of a GA pass. As a parent it was great to sit back and let the kids explore the physical world around them: from water runoff, to wave power, bridge designs, to turbines. They offer so many hands on activities you will just have to check it out for yourself!
As an engineer I thoroughly enjoyed the clockworks they have on display. As well as the other whimsical engineering contraptions they must collect to keep things interesting.
Fantastic day with 5yo. He loved it and we spent the entire, without visiting it all. We need to go back! Only negative part is the restaurant... super long wait for a grilled cheese sandwich, quite unprepared. The submarine is really cool.
Families, children, dating couples, grandparent (without their grand children) can all have a blast at this modern science museum and exhibit, all at the same time! OMSI meets and interests audiences of all demographics. Thank you OMSI for such an experience into science, you help the rubber-hit-the road for many on the topic of science. You peak our interest(s).
Very interactive, lots of exhibits! Great place for hands-on learning about science
Some of the displays were obviously older. The children's play area was well organized and had lots of activities for the kids. The cafeteria was surprisingly good and not nearly as expensive as one might expect.
What a great experience for kids to learn the sciences and history.
I love this museum, still I wish there was a better crowd control system in place. If you go for a special exhibition, be prepared to be in a line for hours.
My 4 yr old had a great time. He especially enjoyed the area where he could build things with woodpieces, plastic nuts and bolts, and plastic gears. He made an awesome boat car :) There's a variety of stations so it's great for all ages and interests.
Must visit if you are in Portland with kids. A lot of scientific information and activities. Most of the fun activities will usually include a short (5-10 minutes) line to participate. Also expect a line to get in if you are not member, so plan for at least half a day there, it worth the time.
The only con of the place is the laser show in the Planetarium, I would rather expect it to be educational program, instead of this pure entertainment which left us with headache.
Nevertheless, OMSI as a whole gets 5 stars.
After dark is a great way for adults to enjoy the whimsy of OMSI while avoiding all of the shin kicking kids.
Thus place was cool and it tot me allot about science and Animals
I'm giving this two stars because about 3/4 of the exhibits were closed and yet the admission was still full price and they didn't warn us before purchasing said ticket. So of the bits we were able to see, the human life exhibit was the most interesting. We were a group of adults without children, so much of the rest of what was open was not really geared toward us. Not worth the $14, not including parking.
We always have a great time at OMSI! Pretty disappointed that the ball exhibit is gone and has been replaced with a bizarre and semi-lame temporary fake alien exhibit. My kids were not pleased with that particular bit.
Annual membership a great investment for families. My kids (3, 5 & 7) love the science playground, and have since they were crawling. Blocks, sand, water, rotating craft activities, a "store," animal habits and more engage them for hours at a time. I love that the are is enclosed such that I don't have to keep arm's length from all three of them: I can let them get involved in two or three different activities and just check in from time to time. We're still growing into the other areas of the museum, but we commonly spend lots of time in the ball room and electronics lab downstairs. And the rotating special exhibits are always worth a visit. I like to finish off our time with an espresso from one of the two cafes, while the kids love to eat their lunches (packed from home) in front of the enormous steel "marble run" display, a classic that's been at the museum since I was little. We also used or membership reciprocity to great effect on a recent visit to Florida.
Haven't been here since I was a kid I say pretty cool to come see and check it out family fun for sure
Pretty cool place. Wish we went to more movies. A lot to explore. Check out the tickets at the front desk before choosing what package you want. Parking is paid and can be hard to find. GPS took us to a lot far away from the front entrance.
I love OMSI! I last visited as a kid and I had such fond memories despite being younger than eight. I returned as an adult and was just as enthralled. The scientific exhibits brought out the student in me, and I also got to see the amazing and moving Pompeii exhibit that I will remember for the rest of my life. Any chance you can, go to OMSI.
The Pompeii exhibit was incredible. Highly recommend if you are into history.
This place sucks for kids. Staff aren't very nice. And stuff is way to expensive
Good for kids under 10, and occasionally they have an exhibit come through that is worth it. They always have leering sleazy security guards that look like they were gathered out of a halfway house.
I expected a whole lot more. I guess I'm spoiled living near California Academy of Science and Monterey Bay Aquarium. However, staff was friendly, the store had a lot fun options, I scarred my son for life walking him through the pregnancy exhibit, and I'll never forget the robot with no bells or whistles sarcastically complaining about life.
A little pricey for a children's museum.
Submarine tour was awesome-- special, small tours are offered on the weekends.
Exquisite creatures exhibit is stunningly awesome. I wish there were more stars to give it.
Such a fun day trip, easy to get to from public transit!
It was totally in Oregon, clearly a museum, definitely filled with various sciences, and had just a... Ton? Of industry? FREEZE DRIED ICE CREAM!
When you go to the laser light show I suggest you are under the influence of hallucinogens LSD shrooms something good great show
So fun for kids! We were there during a deal where it was only $2pp to get in. Great deal! It took us about 2 hours to cruise through. We didn't do the extra exhibits due to toddler nap time but would have loved to do the submarine and the planetarium! The growth of a human baby was the most interesting to me! Wow!
The theatre there is very lifelike. The educational opportunities as well as recreational opportunities are endless.
A great place to spend a day with or without family.
Highly recommend the main exhibit the with all the insects and animals for all. The science part of the area was more geared towards kids. The pregnancy exhibit was very interesting but a little eerie to look at.
A fun trip for sure. Wouldn t be apposed to going again.
Hint: purchase tickets in advance and the just pick them up at the concierge counter where the line can be significantly shorter.
Parking is $5 and adult admission was $15.
Was great when i was in second grade. And now it was great to take my grandson to.
I love omsi, I currently take my 2 year old there to play but as she gets older she'll be able to learn while having fun. Plus they have interesting stuff for me too.
I love to watch how adults and kids enjoy science and a little sigth to Pompeii history!
It was very busy during spring break, but it had many displays, learning through games and Informational kiosks. Highly recommend!
Visited the king tut exhibit. Very cool recreation of the tomb. Entertaining and informative.
I usually go here because there's an event in the Empirical Theater venue, or to see an IMAX movie. I miss the old curved screen from before the remodel, The main attractions in the science halls don't change, but the traveling exhibits are usually quite good. Went to the DaVinci Exhibit, and also to the Pompeii Exhibit.
AWESOME place to take kids. Great displays, a lot of which are interactive, a diesel submarine that is open for tours, and the fare is very reasonable. One of the best days I had with my kids.
The submarine tour was worth while, otherwise I found it to be full of unmonitored children trying to break exhibits. The movie's are good but overall overpriced for what you get
Fun place to take kids. Special events are great too.
A ton of fun for both kids and adults. Only drawback is it's always crowded.
An awesome place to keep kids entertained with science.
Came to town and asked around about what to do. Locals were unable to provide much help, so we went off the hotel provided map. 8 adults went to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Bought ticket for admission and extra tickets to the planetarium for the Dark universe show. The 30 min planetarium show was really cool and informative, but the museum itself was directed mainly for children. Great for the children, if you have them, but for adults it was not worth the money. A lot of labs and kid station and not much for adults. Had it not been for the planetarium it would have been a total bust. Submarine was closed for maintenance and main exhibit room was closed for maintenance. Also on a plus side is there is a bar with wine and beer, yeah! I had the Italian sandwhich and it was very yummy! Wife had beer can chicken sandwhich and hated it. Would I recommend it, if you have kids, yes. If not, no.
This is a great place to visit if you're interested in science, history and technology. They have a lot of interesting and well thought out exhibits that can be viewed and interacted with. They make it so that it's immersive and fun for the entire family.
Our 7 year old enjoyed the Pixar exhibit and science museum. Great for families and by the water for great pics. A must visit.
This is a really great place to for kids, I always go to see the Blueback submarine asI think itis the Best thing there. ofcourse I was on the Blueback when I was in the Navy. The only reason for the four stars is the way they Manage the Submarine
It was decent and educational. Could be improved with guided tours at no extra charge.
Overpriced place. Nothing special for $50 for a family. Spend your money somewhere else
Omsi is a great science center with tours of submarines, traveling exhibits, and a planitarium.
Very cool museum, but smaller than expected. Lots of interactive exhibits that are very well suited for young kids. A great place for the whole family.
Do the sub tour sooooo cool. Great for the family to do. Plan to spend the day
Great place to get your science on. Once a month omsi after dark for the adults is a blast!
This place is good for small children, they can really have fun playing in the museum and the legos and for adults, thr movies are very educative, ghey are very interesting.
Our family always has a blast at OMSI. It is one of those places that you could, especially with kids, spend the entire day there. The displays and activities are fun and informative; many of them are open ended, so they keep you occupied for a while or feel different with every visit. The staff are knowledgeable and run great experiments. If you're a local, certainly worth the membership.
Great for the kids. It as really crowded so I'd recommend the annual pass.
I'm a teacher and STEM specialist, so this place was like Heaven for me. Absolutely loved it and wouldn't hesitate to return as the exhibits cycle.
Great place to gain more knowledge relate to science and technology
