First time ever going and we loved it! My boys were so fascinated by the blacksmith, the man-made pond and the history of how some of the buildings/bridges were purchased and moved to OSV!!! Great day trip!!! Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful!!! Highly Recommend!!!

This is a nice place to explore. Lots of history and interesting people. My only complaint is even with a membership they still try to penny and nickel money out of you. They hold many events throughout the year for which they charge extra. This is not explained when we bought our yearly membership. It s still a great experience if you haven t been.

What a wonderful living museum. We enjoyed it so much more then Plymouth Plantation. The employees in historical dress were very nice and informative. The setting itself is gorgeous, lush green rolling hills and we had beautiful blue skies. My kids especially enjoyed the olden time children's games that were set up throughout the museum.

A great place to bring the family to explore history of take a hike. They also have a lot of events throughout the year to keep you coming back and to keep things fresh. They also have live animals you can pet. I love visiting this place! The staff is always on point as well.

This is a wonderful trip back in time. The volunteer's are very knowledgeable about the era and more than willing to share their knowledge. I've been many times over the years with my daughters, one who's become a reenactor and each year she is part of the Rebels and Red Coats, you may have seen the milk maid somewhere during that weekend.

We have been Village members for a while. On Friday, December 13, 2019, we ATTEMPTED to attend the Christmas Candlelight Walk. We pre-purchased tickets......so you already had our money. We were turned away THREE times and told it was due to NO PARKING. The first time we were told come back in 20 minutes...we did so and told again...NO PARKING....come back in 30 minutes.,,we did so AND AGAIN were told NO PARKING...try again in a half hour. We went back again......we were told AGAIN... NO PARKING.....cars kept trying to go in And kept getting turned away. Finally we said FORGET THIS. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a way to treat paying customers. And you wonder why attendance is down over the years. This is only one reason. Your customer service better be revamped.

Definitely a great place to take kids. There a lot of animals to see, and you can take a tour on a horse carriage ride. The buildings are interesting for adults and kids alike, and there are cool activities to do. It's a nice place to walk around, and learn a lot.

I have loved this place since being a child. The history comes alive. The staff does an outstanding job with questions and truly takes pride in bringing the whole experience together for everyone.

Absolutely love coming here. If you're thinking of planning a trip here it's worth the time and drive to get there. Everyone working there is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and do a fantastic job of staying in character. The village itself is really cool. The buildings are original and anything recreated is spot on. Most of the actors there will be going about their days doing chores and work. Great work to like smithing, tending the small farms, cooking etc. Plus around Halloween they have the nighttime play of the Sleepy Hollow experience which is really awesome!

I've only been to Old Sturbridge Village twice. The second time I went was for their holiday event. I would recommend going to this event, especially if you have younger children. They have carriage rides, you get to make an ornament, sample foods, hear stores of how the stocking became a thing in history. There is also a bridge that has Christmas trees that you can share a wish on. The picture I posted is of one of the wishes I saw. I hope they got their Legos!

This is a true gem of an experience. The recreated village is so real and historically accurate. The information from the stands and boards are great but the living historians are so knowledgeable and informative they make the experience. It is worth every penny. The gift shop has created pieces from the village.

What a great place to visit for the day! Perfect for couples or the whole family! Beautiful 200 acre setting, very interesting and a great way to learn about early American culture. Bonus: Military discounts for active duty!

I visited my brother in CT in June and we went to Old Sturbridge Village. We grew up going on school trips to Old Sturbridge Village and with family. Love going back in time to colonial New England. A must do when visiting New England!

Old Sturbridge is a wonderful experience filled with history and entertainment. The beauty of the historical structures and the sense of realism by the employees brought you back to this time period. The employees were very knowledgeable and were very open to questions to give you a better understanding of colonial life. The many interactive exhibits give you a glance of the difficulty in order to be successful during these trying times. We went as a school field trip and recommend other districts to do the same.

The village is a great window into the past. It is very well maintained and offers an interactive and hands-on experience. Staff were friendly and professional. Exhibits were informative and well maintained. Highly recommend. Military free admission. Other rate are comparable to other parks.

Such a great outing for both children & adults. All the different events are fantastic. We've seen Sleepy Hallow & Charlotte's Web, highly recommend checking out these productions while at OSV.

An authentic experience! We observed people making pottery, shoes, maple syrup, and more. Every employee we encountered was practically an encyclopedia of information related to New England in the 1800's. Old Sturbridge Village staff, from guest services to the interpreters, ensured all questions were answered thoroughly and thoughtfully. We spent 3 hours on a cold March day and saw most of what we came to see. On a warmer day when it is busier you would probably need more like 4-6 hours to see everything.

Have been here many times over the past 40 yrs. Plenty of parking. People that work or volunteer their time are very knowledgeable, bathrooms clean, nice walk around the grounds. Restaurant within -price is good.

Haven't been here since my 5th grade field trip about 27 years ago. It was a nostalgic 2hrs and the area closed before I could finish looking around, so I was kinda sad. But all that I did see was fantastic. Love history and learning about it through interacting with the people there. Great place to bring kids to learn a little history. I would recommend to anyone.

Did not think the entrance fee was anywhere near reasonable. It's a nice enough place to bring the kids, but truly lacking compared to the way it was when I was a kid. It used to be much more interactive and for the price they charge....just way too steep for what they offer.

Great historic village. Great for any age. Everyone dresses up in their role and are very knowledgeable about the 1800-1850 time period. Bank, blacksmith, tin, copper, saloon. Real historical buildings relocated all together. Get a season pass, it pays for itself if you come back.

We came on a school field trip, but have been members for years! The schoolteacher (older woman) was excellent teaching the 3rd graders we had, as well as the Blacksmiths! I was surprised that the older man driving the wagon was short More

My kids had a blast here. They learned a lot about how it was like to live back in colonial times, and what kind of toys and foods they had to offer. We went during a scout day event, so it was fairly busy with girls and boy scouts, so we hope to go back and truly experience more of it and the planned events they have to offer. They had live animals, active farm and gardens as well. Before you leave, do visit the gift shops. The fudges are amazing, as well as the homemade cooking mixes!

This is quite an experience, especially for children in school age. It will be best to go when the weather is nice so you can walk around and enjoy the difference living settings they have. It is like walking into a time machine and seeing for real how people used to live in the area centuries ago. I love how well their employees play their roles and how they explain everything as they are making it. They have a real life setting of an old village... it's really worth visiting!

As a child, I visited about every other year. 40 plus years later, it is even more spectacular than I remembered. We picked a perfect day to go (quiet) and enjoyed the many very talented and patient docents, the glimpse into rural life, a sense of the charms and challenges of New England in the 1700s. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to get out, if you happen to get cabin fever in the middle of a pandemic. Very easy to distance and take in some lovely sights, interact from a distance with period-acting staff. We were there a few times recently, really enjoyed the Christmas by Candlelight

It had been at least 35 years since I visited Old Sturbridge Village, and it was just as enjoyable as it was when I was a kid. There are many buildings to explore, and the living history is well done. I highly recommend Old Sturbridge Village to people of all ages.

Old Sturbridge Village is an incredible place to bring the kids, but it is also a beautiful venue to hold corporate and special events. The staff is very friendly and is all about service, striving to accommodate your every request to make whatever event you are hosting or attending perfect. I highly recommend considering this venue for your next event.

Such a great place to learn about the old days. The staff are well educated in their area, and like to share info with you. It's not a gimmicky place, which adds value to the experience (contrasted with Dollywood for example). In modern times when kids have to have a TV, tablet or computer in front of them, OSV is a stark reminder of the family unity that comes from working together as a family.

Its a nice place for a visit. Not a whole lot of activity. You are mostly strolling around , the info is delivered via reading. You can ride a horse-pulled wagon around and there is also a "tavern" where you can get some lunch!

Lots of interesting information to learn about how people used to live and work during that time period. The actors working do a great job of explaining how things used to work and site itself looks cool with all the prop setup and actual use of old time tools and techniques.
