"Old Oak" Hotel & Resort Review

Everything was tops. Well worth the price. Zultan as host was very helpful from carrying luggage upstairs to suggestions on spending our time in the area.

A top class hotel, Excellent, clean, well presented rooms with a real attention to detail. Will definitely return next time I'm up in this area. Andy

Great place to stay. Helpful staff that passed on their knowledge of the area. The room was huge and stunning with timber wooden floors. At night there wasn t much love for timber floors and you could hear other guests walk around.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic place with wonderful rooms spacy, clean and confortably equipped. There is also a nice backyard attached to the rooms with possibilities to sleep outside. The nuolding is historic from 1864. Free wlan and parking. There is a good Indian Restaurant just nearby. There is no breakfast option, but cafe nearby. A nice place to stay.

I am in love with the decor and furnishings inside. It had a clean modern look while still retaining original characteristics. I stayed in the Pohutukawa suite, which was roomy and comfortable. There s views of the water and easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. A very cute and quiet town. One day I decided to just stay in and relax in the room because I enjoyed it so much.

Awesome romantic accommodation in a quaint boutique hotel

Excellent speciality accommodation with a heritage past. We were met at the door by the couple who were the managers who were very helpful, even unloading our luggage and helping getting it to our room. A clean spacious room with an enormous bathroomamd shower. AC in the room. Private patio with sunbeds and a hammock and a laundry. 5 star in all respects. Ken and Eileen.

Beautiful little hotel that has been tastefully renovated. The new Managers - Alasdair and Megan were professional and very welcoming. Overall standard of the hotel is excellent and the ability to have 1 or 2 strawberries directly from the garden was wonderful.

Great place to spend some time up north. Very clean rooms with everything you could want to make your stay perfect. Great food nearby also.

A Stunning Heritage Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Mangonui. Tall ceilings, only 6 rooms, quiet and so comfortable. Couldn't recommend highly enough and the attention to detail is second to none.

Lovely restored building. Quiet stylish environment at water's edge. Gracious hosts. I will return.

Fantastic boutique hotel with a number of thoughtful touches. Very well renovated to keep the historic feel while providing modern conveniences. Great hosts, Alisdair and Meghan were super welcoming and helpful. We were in the single room which while tight for a couple was certainly manageable. Fast WiFi, great restaurants in the area and over all lovely town and lovely vista. We will be back!

A cute boutique hotel with easy self check in and in the main town

the place is lovely and quaint. I was traveling alone and was given the single room. I got back from a great day of touring and was sitting in the garden reading my book. When I was aproched by the staff advising me I was not allowed to sit in this part of the garden!! I said I was a guest at the hotel but she said I was only allowed in the back part of the garden!!!! Yes segregation!!! I was so humiliated and in front of other guests. No there wasn't an issue of space. There were 4 seats and only 2 others in the garden. I was only reading my book. I am so upset and humiliated. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I am a prodfessional person and have never experienced anything so offensive in my travels before

Nice hotel, a short walk away from the town center but extra quiet and well restored

A true hidden gem in this quaint seaside town. Was recommended to us by family members who have stayed before and had a wonderful experience. The host was friendly and welcoming, offering the best place to grab some local fish and chips. The room was clean and cozy with amazing natural lighting. A very peaceful and relaxing place to unwind after a long day of traveling. Would highly recommend to friends and family in the future!
