It has been a hassle from the get go, loan was never executed correctly, and heaven forbid you need anything extra from them. You can do your part but it is questionable whether they will do theirs or not. You are lucky if you get someone who knows what they are talking about. I am looking to refinance at a different company so I can get away from this place.

Attending the Annual Meeting of the best credit union ever! I appreciate the financial security and guidance. One of the best programs they offer is Grants to Teachers. I've been honored to be the recipient of grant awards for several years, including this year for our school's Save The Bees! project !! Thanks, OECU, for helping educators for so many years!!
Horrible reviews for a reason. They continued to charge me for car payments AFTER I paid my car off and their customer service is abysmal. AVOID if possible.
Overall bad service. Tellers are rude . Even to pay a bill "which has never been late" is a process .Want the bill, social, license who knows how many questions just to take the CASH and credit the account.....was more the attitude than the process .
This is absolutely the worst I have been treated by a financial institution! They have mislead me, lied to me, and ignored me for some time now. They didn't care about my concerns and I've been a member of this Credit Union for over 2 years and that means nothing to them. The upper management is to busy to help when I have issues. Would not recommend this Credit Union to anyone.
I started banking with OECU after they financed my new car. I was hesitant to make the switch at first but I wanted everything in one place. They made moving super easy. I ve been with them for nearly a year now and have been nothing but satisfied. It s a great feeling to walk into your bank and be greeted by name. They appreciate me as a customer and it hasn t gone unnoticed. If you re looking for a new place to bank, check out Oklahoma Educators! You won t be disappointed.
As an educator, I have used the Moore branch OECU for over 30 years. I ve gotten car loans twice at one of the lowest percentages around. I ve used their Saturday shredding event (they had great snacks) ! My kids and now my grandson get suckers via the drive through. My Scotties get dog biscuits. Whether banking with the drive through window or inside with the lobby the staff are always helpful and friendly. If I forget my passwords the folks in technology are always patient and able to help. I m comfortable using this system.
Spoke to Mrs. Underwood who is a loan underwriter and was extremely rude and interruptive during our conversation. I am not a member nor would I chose to be after this encounter. I contacted Mrs. Underwood at the request of a member because according to said member Mrs. Underwood stated there were additional charges being added to the members' transaction, even though the itemized list shows a running total and lists no such charges. On more than one occasion she indicated she was going to "end the call" because I explained how to read a loan document, one which she should have already been familiar with, that contradicted her statement of how it "did not add up". I can't change math. After I ran down the document line by line with + and - to make it clear she said "thank you" and hung up on me. I guess she felt a sarcastic "thank you" makes her a polite individual. It does not.
Problems from the initial date of financing. First; I was late getting the car tagged because it took them over a month to finalize their end of the financing agreement they had already approved. A few months later I m admitted to ICU. As a working employee paid hourly, I do not get income if I m not working. Being in ICU for a few weeks drained my funds. OECU called my personal line as well as my employer EVERY DAY, even knowing I was in ICU at the time. I couldn t definitively tell them an expected pay date at that time, while in ICU with no foreseen discharge date, they continually harassed me over the one barely late payment. All respect was lost that day. I m a divorced, single mother with no family (aged out of foster care) and I had to put groceries and other needs on hold after discharging from the hospital so that my first paycheck could go to them. I have health problems so I was in and out of the hospital a few more times but by that point I d already lost all respect for OECU. I tried several times to get them to grant me online access to pay my loan on time and be able to see what was owed, etc. OECU is so deceiving they won t post that information when you login to pay online. You pay blindly. Was in the process of refinancing through TFCU, where I ve banked since I was a teen, but was in a car accident with an uninsured driver that totaled my car. Prior to the date of the accident my car loan through OECU was current/paid. The GAP coverage I purchased with the vehicle, as it turns out, is ALSO through OECU (Allied). GAP did NOT PAY THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE LOAN. Any other GAP would have but not at OECU. Go figure. They told me there are stipulations and GAP won t cover late payments. Only payment that was missing is for February. The date of total loss on the vehicle was in January. My insurance already paid their part. GAP says it will pay the remaining balance after insurance reimbursement from THE DATE OF TOTAL LOSS. That would mean I should have had no February payment. But here we are.... obviously this institution must be struggling to go as far as to not only charge their customers a convenience fee to pay online with the same checking account info used on my bank drafts, but also to be so deceitful. I requested information sent to me to prove GAP would only cover a small portion of the remaining balance in addition to an explanation of why the rest was not paid.....I was sent a scanned copy of a GAP Claim Reporting form that was left blank aside from my name and account number on it. As much as a hassle as it has been to be in a wreck with an uninsured driver, I m thankful not only to be alive but also to be almost away from OECU for good. I will be walking to work and to take my daughter to/from school before I ever get another car financed through OECU. My new car is financed through TFCU (Tinker Federal Credit Union).
I will start by saying the auto loan was excellent. After giving a one star review and saying how I was feeling about banking operations, Trent reached out to me. He actually listened to my concerns on certain situations. I believe he listened with intent to change these things and make my banking experience better. I hope to see these changes take place and eventually earn a 5 star. I'm not there yet, but his effort was a huge jump start and help restore the respect in this organization.
Well. Almost three years ago I financed a car through this uncoordinated, unknowledgable, bunch of customer service rejects.
Three years ago. I still do not have a title.
I have spoken to at least a half dozen of their agents/officers. No one knows where the title is. Everyone has a different theory on where I can find it. The only definitive fact I know is that the dealership mailed it to OECU.
I have gotten a manager on the phone (Jesse) who claims to have been with the company 20+ years and seems to have a good working knowledge of the paperwork - but he pushed me off onto a subordinate and has blown me off too.
These people are lazy and incompetent. They will essentially tell you they don't know and refuse to do their jobs and figure it out -OR- they will take a guess and try to sound competent. The one thing I can guarantee they will not do is their job.
Unless you want a vehicle that you are unable to drive because of an inability to register, STAY AWAY.
In regards to the online banking website, it is 2018, you would think that your website would be more up to date... you can barely view any account information on there, it only allows the bare minimum and the descriptions are vague.
I called this location earlier this week to get some basic information & the person who answered the phone acted like I was an inconvenience to him & had a not so great attitude. Maybe that s just his personality but either way yikes . Prayers to you sir!
0 stars should be an option..don't finance back to back vehicles with them. Even though they close one loan account, they take the warranty refund your supposed to get, apply it to the new load instead of giving you the consumer the option like every other credit union whether to apply it to the new loan or take the refund
It's so hard to find a great bank that go above and beyond to give the best service to thier customers... But i just did The new branch manager on nw express way what a professional man, great staff and amazing customer service.
Amazon had inadvertently debited my account which led to numerous NSF fee's. I brought this to the attention of the credit union manager, and he said "If they put the funds back in our account the same way they took them out then there should not be an issue in recouping the NSF fee's, because that's how our system is set up". Amazon was very apologetic and promptly refunded the initial debit that led to the numerous NSF fee.s. Provided emails to OECU, showing that Amazon took ownership of they're error, and that they took action. However when it came time for OECU to replace the charges, I was told it was out of their hands, because they didn't make the error. Foul, unscrupulous, downright THEFT. How can this be. Its a simple fix, but OECU would rather be PREDATORY and pounce at the drop of a hat to gain a nickel. This same day, because we have one our auto loans with a REPUTABLE credit union, that if we moved our loan to OECU , our terms would be more favorable. Lies, lies lies, I was told the interest rate would be lower, it was 1 PERCENT higher, and the loan term was longer, I promptly declined.
This place is horrible. The one in Midwest City is great but they can't keep anyone at the OKC location and they have the tendency to "overlook" certain customers.....I'm done.
I have a car loan through them. I called today to updated my my auto draft account as I closed my old bank account. First I am being questioned as to why I closed my account. None of your business but I chose to no longer pay a monthly fee for a checking account. Then I get told I will have to pay a $25 fee to change the information because that involves them doing paper work. So I asked about dropping the auto draft and just coming in monthly to pay. I am told there is a $25 fee for that as well. So either way I loose! Sorry you had to do your job I don't see why I should be charged for it!!!!
Edit to review: I was promptly contacted by the bank and was explained as to why they ask the reason an account is closed. They were also willing to waive my $25 fee this one time to transfer my banking information. I appreciate them reaching out to me.
Let's start with the fact everything they do is sketchy, none of the offices communicate with each other, payments are "missing" until you show a receipt. Then when you are force to retire from the military for disability reasons and your income gets cut in half they "help" by saying they can refinance you turn around and magically try to take your car away... wonderful people right here...
I tried to apply for a loan and was turned down, but they was quick to approve me for a credit card. The credit card took 5 months to get and I got the run around on that. Telling me that the company that makes the cards ran out of plastic. They never informed me of anything and I had to call them every week. The only reason I came to them was because they financed my car. I will be glad when it is paid off, so I won t have to do business with them anymore.
They promise a lot but don't do what they say. One transaction can take weeks to a month and your lucky if someone actually calls you back. If you are considering doing business with this banking institution... RUN!
We came from Bank of America to them now about 2 years ago. They refinanced our vehicles to a lower payment than anyone else, and were able to rule over an existing loan into the car notes. They have none of the outrageous fees that other banks have, and they even pay interest to our checking account. Sure, the website isn't as comprehensive as BoA, and they don't have an app, but none of that slows down anything we need to do. I always speak to a real person when I call, and they have longer hours than anywhere else we've had our money. We made the switch, have been very pleased, and have never looked back.
Worst credit union ever, loan officers who don't know the difference between up or down. Customer service is far below par. If rather have talk to telemarketers than to Oklahoma educators. WHAT A JOKE
They want to charge me $25 dollars just to change the bank my car payment gets taking out from... I have never been charged in my life to change a bank for them to take money from. Then i said well instead of that can i just cancel and set up my new bank to send payment, she they replied you can but your interest rate on yorur vehicle will change.... I said are you freaking kidding me... I look at it this way.. do you want to get paid or not becuase the bank you will try to pull the payment from will not be there and the bank account wont be active..
I've banked here for over 30 years. I have always received the best care. Everyone has been helpful. Mr. Joshua Stone has personally helped me with all banking need in the most polite & professional manner. I am extremely happy with this Credit Union.
Horrible customer service. I asked for a copy of my pay off letter and they wanted to charge me $10 for the email. Will never finance anything through them again. Awful.
We have enjoyed being a member of OECU for many, many years! Along with all the benefits, programs and opportunities and it s awesome crews and staff, there is no better place to bank than OECU! Thank you!
I called 3 times today to get an answer on whether oecu is still part of a co-op for my home credit union and no one could tell me anything more definitive than probably . A complete lack of customer service skills by the people I talked to as they made me feel I was interrupting their day. When I asked if they could confirm the guy Cody just kept repeating himself in a flat monotone voice over and over like I was not hearing him. I am super glad they are not my bank and would recommend avoiding doing business with such a poorly managed establishment.
When I got the loan for my car I had others tell me this place was okay. Well i say otherwise, it seems from day one they didn't want me to have this loan they approved! I'm not sure if its (nevermind) But oh my Lord I'll NEVER get a loan thru them again! They will harass you NONSTOP if you're ONE not several, but fall ONE payment behind, nevermind if your history has been consistent or solid!!! I should've known they was a problem when I didn't reach out to them the 1st week of financing!!! They threatened to pull the loan BECAUSE WE DIDNT NEVER talked to each other? I have had SEVERAL LOANS thru different institutions and not once did they give me grief because I didn't get in touch with them! They are also hard to work with, and some employees will look you up and down like you have feces on you! (Auto loan manager at NW expressway location) I can't wait to go another route and get from up under them! If you can, AVOID THEM at all costs!!! It's not the worth the mental stress and duress!!!
Unprofessional, impersonal, and a complete waste of a credit hit based off of a complete lie of a pre-approval for car refinancing. I know pre-approvals aren't guaranteed, but when it's denied for information that was already included in the pre-approval then you know they wasted your time. Even worse when they can't be bothered to give you an actual phone call. Just a letter a week later. My advice is go with a company that is outside of bumpkinville that doesn't just pretend to be a bank.
What a heartless CU. I had breast cancer at the beginning of the year and the father of my daughters passed away... with all the medical bills, being out of work because of being in and out of the hospital, etc, and being a divorced mother of 4... my only option unfortunately was bankruptcy. As soon as I let them know my intentions so I knew if I would need to find a new banking establishment they put holds on ALL of my funds. Every last penny. "Because they have a right to offset the loan, and since I haven't technically filed yet they have the right to do that." Really classy.
Beware never do business with this credit union they are the worsted i ever dealt with never anything with them financial ...Take your business else where save yourself a headache in the long run. They only have 3stars caused u gave them a star it really -3 stars ...U can make your payment have your receipt and they will still argue with u and tell u havent call 100times day pull your credit without your permission and are unauthorized knowledge try ruin credit never report the credit buenue particular .... Run fast as u can
Racially discriminated by Midtown Kia and lied too by OECU.
My husband and I purchased cars from Midtown Kia in Tulsa, Ok. On the 12th and 22nd of December 2018. The salesman told me I provided all that was needed and OECU financesd is both. A month later we still hasn t received anything to legally tag our cars and Midtown Kia told us OECU was just backed up so we were given a second paper tag. My husband was called back to the dealership the next night and was told his loan wasn t approved for financing, however, the men in the finance dept. worked late to get my husband refinanced with OECU but at a lower interest rate. A month later, I was called and harassed by Jeremy in finance at midtown Kia demanding I bring my ****** self to the dealership by 8pm with a bank statement or else he would take back my car. This threading and yelling and calling me out of my name went on for two more days until I called Karen at OECU. In tears I told her what they were doing to me and according to my Bill of sale from two months ago, OECU was my Lienholder. I had a payment date set and called weeks earlier to inquire about my title to get my tag and OECU , having all my information, told me not to worry because my payment will be pushed back. Karen listened then informed me that I wasn t completely approved and she needed three more things for my loan to be finalized. In shock I asked why would they wait two months? And why did the dealership harass me all week asking for complete different things? She denied any knowledge of why Jeremy and Brent from finance lied to me and tmrefused to give me all of the documents I signed. Instead she informed me that she needed a copy of my marriage certificate to verify my maiden and married name; another copy of our joint tax return , and SiX previous months of bank statements because even though she called and verified with my job and saw the deposits, she just needed to be more convinced. Now my husband only submitted two paystubs and was refinanced by OECU to a lower interest rate. I, on the other hand had to provide unnecessary and personal paperwork because Jeremy at midtown Kia went through my banking information and didn t believe that a Black woman could make that much money. He verbally let me know my kind lie and he was going to take my vehicle. His boss Brent didn t care that I was being yelled and berated in the dealership full of people and that Jeremy didn t even know what a 1099 form looked like, no, Brent smiled and threatened me as well. He even said I had no lender because he spoke with Karen two days ago ( which prompted the racial witch hunt) and said Karen didn t even know who I was. So I let the liar finish and informed he and Jeremy that I have a binding document from 12/22/2018 the I was indeed financed and I spoke with Karen a few hours ago and she told me I was approved but he and Jeremy called and tried to say I falsified documents and OECU should drop my financing, giving the dealership the chance to take my car and keep my down payment. Karen assured me I was approved and once I gave her those documents she asked for, my loan and car would be safe. Unfortunately I believed her because when I did exactly what she said, she had meetings and couldn t talk to me and left early but told her coworker to have me call the dealership. Well the harassment started after that but her coworker didn t know what Karen decided. So after a week of malicious behavior by midtown Kia and then Karen waiting two months and just left me hanging I was devastated by the discriminatory behavior by OECU and Midtown Kia. I asked the men at midtown Kia why, if my lender wasn t going to approve me, why didn t they treat me like my Caucasian husband and work to find another of their 60 lenders or get my loan refinanced? They just went straight to threatening me . I never received an answer. Karen lies to me and so did the men at Midtown Kia. I guess Black women don t work hard and deserve to have a nice car.
