Oceanside Assisted Living Reviews

My first impression of Oceanside Hawaii was that it was a hidden oasis, and the more I learn about Oceanside the more accurate this first impression becomes. The driveway leading up from Kamehameha Highway is framed by towering trees on either side, and as you round the bend the mountain view takes your breath away and gives you the impression that you are entering a sacred place. The whole facility, from the Front Lobby to the rooms, is set up for comfort, class and accessibility. There are flowers and trees and plants everywhere you look and the atmosphere is fresh and inviting. The staff seem to carry permanent loving smiles on their faces, and I have seen them bend over backwards to accommodate our Residents and their family members. The Food Service Department is incredible, serving up a wide variety of delicious dishes, throwing amazing feasts for the Holidays and doing all that they can to satisfy even the most peculiar appetite. My favorite thing about Oceanside, however, is simply how joyful and lively the Residents here are. Laughing and joking and interacting, going on outings and thriving as they live out their Golden Years.

New management took over this facility in July 2016, so ignore any reviews older than that. Renovations to the facility and new staff members make this a completely different place. It's about an hour from the city, which means it's quiet and close to nature. Because of the fact they are not in the city, their costs are lower which they pass on to their customers. Their prices are almost 50% less than those in Honolulu. Oceanside's staff are all extremely friendly as they strive to create a family atmosphere. They also have licensed RNs (registered nurses) and LPNs (licensed practitioner nurses) on staff, so your parents are always in good hands. Definitely worth a tour!

This community is the best value on the island. Providing great service and care to our seniors at the most affordable price in the state is what Oceanside Hawaii is all about. I have toured the community and it is beautiful and serene, like Hawaii itself. The care staff are compassionate and very professional.

I will be placing my family here when the time comes.

The staff are very friendly and know each one of the residents personally. They take great care to treat each one with respect. There is a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere as you walk through the building, like the feeling of home.

I have visited the facility many times and have visited a few others.
This facility is by far the best valued for what they have to offer. Often times those of us who need it cannot afford these assisted living places but this facility makes an effort to provide the most affordable care there is in the state. And I cannot commend them enough for that. I have watched the facility flourish in the past few years. Staff is warm and caring. The facility looks clean and welcoming. Residents here are happy and as other reviewers mentioned I have never seen residents neglected and screaming around. The property is nestled away in the woods and gives it a very calming presence away from the bustles of busy life. The occasional sight of pigs and roosters are definitely a bonus to this wonderful facility. I would have no hesitation moving here myself for my care when time comes...

It was a pleasure to have the availability to be so close to where our father lives. Staying on site made it so easy to be with him as much as we liked. The staff made us feel very comfortable and service was nice. Our room was big, the amenities were sufficient. Thank you for offering this service, it meant a lot to our father!

I have been here multiple times to visit someone in their memory support unit. The facility looks amazing and clean. Residents here are well taken care of. You don't see residents just sitting in wheelchairs screaming their heads off and being neglected like at some other facilities.

I also love the driveway into their property. It is lined with tress on both sides of the roads and you can see mountains in the background. What a perfect spot for a family photoshoot. haha.
