Oyster and ceviche were particularly delicious. Seats in the middle are gaya gaya depending on the time zone, but the late lunch is free and the price is also reasonably reasonable.

Delicious meal but some of the worst service we've ever had. I love a nice long meal with the family, but 3 hours for aps and the main course is over the top. The manager on duty made little effort to make it right. Suffice to say we will not be dining there again.

Excellent seafood, and pleasant ambiance. They used to have a "late lunch" deal where you could get heavy discounts, not sure still applicable. Anyway great fish in mid-town. Count on 100 dollars pp or so.

Food was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere, friendly and well-trained waitstaff who were very attentive. Only ISSUE is....the bar closest to the dining area needs someone to take a scrub brush to where the lip and the top meet...it is full of nasty scum.

Oceana is an amazing restaurant to experience especially for the seafood lovers. Their selection of fish is impressive. Service was equally as impressive. Had the prix fixed menu with oysters, lobster and sorbets. Lobster was sweet and cooked just right...fell out of the shell. A must visit

I've been here for many years. One of the better seafood restaurants in NYC. Pricey but is worth the money. Very comfortable seating, wait service are sharp and attentive. The maitre dean will help you select their specialty of the day. The bar scene is very noisy, main dining room is spacious.

We went here for thanksgiving for our honeymoon and no word of a lie, best 3 course dinner we have ever had! From the hostess, to bartenders, to the waiters it was unbelievable service. Ryan the maitre d especially was amazing, he talked to us and showed a real interest, when he found out it was our honeymoon - brought out complimentary glasses of champagne which was a brilliant surprise to top off our evening. We also spoke to the head chef who was excellent to compliment him for an delicious meal especially the shrimp bisque as starter and turkey with all the trimmings.

Cant recommend this place enough!!!!

Marvelous dining experience for clients or celebration with friends and spouse

Expensive beyond reason. Wine as expensive as meal

Bouillabaisse is special

Despite the price, I return regularly

Hands on family management.

An appropriate venue for a business lunch, this midtown venue is spacious with floor to ceiling windows allowing lots of natural sunlight. The seafood is fresh and very well prepared, with prices targeted towards the working professionals in the area. Service is efficient and thoughtful - our crispy fried calamari appetizer and housemade tartar sauce was split for us. The lobster sandwich that is offered on the lunch menu with bacon, lettuce, avocado and a tarragon spread is delicious - although I would have preferred to have the bread a little warmer or more toasted. The wild mushroom side dish, served in a metal container that seemed small for its $10 price tag, was delicious and well-seasoned with fresh herbs.

Great experience! Our food was amazing all the way through. We both had apples and fish for our main course. Amazing is all I can say. Turns out I m not used to fine dining as we had a server and a helper not sure what he did but he took plates and delivered drinks. We could have used just the one server, all in all glad we got this recommendation!

Love this place! Come here all the time to hang by the bar for a great cocktail and oysters. Best shrimp cocktail on earth! I wish they sold their cocktail sauce to go, it is so addicting.

It's hard to find a decent restaurant close to the theatre district with good food and service. Oceana was a great find. The restaurant was big, with a bar in the middle. Tables were nicely spread throughout the restaurant, you had some privacy, unlike some restaurants in NY, service was friendly and the food was very good. Our waiter asked us if we had theatre plans, and accordingly he paced our evening with plenty of time to spare. They even had a pre theatre dinner which was reasonably priced. I cannot emphasize how happy I was to find this option for pre theatre. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

Food is good here, though vibe is very much so Midtown business lunch. The scallops entree was cooked to the right degree of tenderness, and the portions were not small. Service was very good, and the restaurant was very accommodating of late members of our party. Although a bit on the pricey side, Oceana provide quality food and service.

Great service. Wait staff was well informed on the selections and made great recommendations. The fish was super fresh and delicious. We had mussels, round nose salmon ala Betty and the Wok Crab.

Spectacular Sommelier w/ an Inattentive Bombastic Bluffing waiter who didn t know what he was talking about along w/ either an under staffed or marginal talent kitchen staff putting out lukewarm, inconsistent dishes that could not keep up with the fairly oblivious and easily pleased expense account diners.

Had the business lunch package. Excellent value for money- starters, mains and dessert for less than $40. The restaurant is huge. Conveniently located. The most impressive is the very large wine collection- both white and red. My friend and I had a St. Estephe.

Worth visiting for either a quick lunch or a fine dining experience.

The attention to detail from all the staff made our dinner a night to remember. We got there for 6 and the bar area was very busy and the restaurant just started picking up. We enjoyed a nice 2 hour meal and for a very busy Thursday night the attention to detail was exceptional and they treated us right from the start. The waiters were on point and even when i dropped a spoon before I knew it the manager had replaced it with a new one.
For a typical seafood lover the food was outstanding we started with the baked oysters Colossal Shrimp and Shrimp bisque... 3lb Lobster for me and Lobster Pasta for the Mrs. We appreciated the small things that they did ... Small Soup as a pallet cleanser Free anniversary desert and the mint candy after we paid the bill. We highly recommend this place as a Michelin Star restaurant you wont be disappointed and well definitely be returning on our next trip to NYC.

Utterly average: The raw bar at Mermaid in SoHo is superior, without any pretense. The seafood tower I ordered was not befitting a restaurant of this supposed caliber, nor was the paella, which contained MSG. The mussels were nice. Everything else was ho-hum. This place lost its Michelin star this year, and to me it's no surprise. Moreover, I've had digestive issues since eating there 12 hours ago. At the very least, it was a nice place to sit. Overall my opinion is negative.
