Food is decent. BUT management was very unorganized and the waitress were very cold. It's around 1:35PM on the weekend, not a busy time.

I was gonna give them a 3 stars, after 35 minites wait for the take-out, they get only 2 stars.

Food was decent, but our wait staff for the most part was atrocious (bus boy was excellent). Several times the waiter walked away while we were still talking with him. One of the waiters brought us an order of French fries after we finish led dessert. For the prices we paid I expected better quality service.

I can not say enough good things about this place. It is a modern, clean, fresh, spacious, comfortable, luxurious hotel right on the main drag beach in Cape May. Even if you are only here for one night, this is the place to stay. All oceanfront rooms have their own private balcony, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Parking is free and directly attached to the building. The pool is beautiful, lined with wicker chairs and orange towels and lush palm trees. There is a relaxing party atmosphere around the tiki bar and couples, children and older folks alike are all enjoying the poolside views. The room was huge, with lovely modern wallpaper and fresh, clean beds with plush feather pillows. They were so sweet to allow late checkout and to let us use the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Over the top beauty, charm, friendliness, and a superb stay! Can't wait to go back!

Actually we never got the chance to stay at the hotel, my husband had a health issue and we had to cancel. I called over two weeks before the reservation to cancel. I was told they would refund the deposit but would keep $50 and called it a cancellation fee. I tried to explain about my husband's health issue and was told "no exceptions!" Apparently no matter how far in advance of your stay or what the reason is, they will keep the $50. If you cancel within two weeks of your stay they will keep the full deposit! I have never heard of such an outrageous cancellation policy. It is ridiculous! Make sure you read everything on their website!

Responsive service. Well implemented amenities, such as the pool area, sun deck, and tiki bar. Room was clean and comfortable. The only issue was that the room wasn't insulated well from hallway noises.

Solid hotel: very clean, room was a decent size, pool was great, location was great, and beach access. Staff were friendly but the elevator was a bit slow and we had fresh fruit waiting for us upon arrival for our celebration but was left out in the warm room.

The place is spacious and sophisticated with great beach views and easy parking. The food was excellent, the scallops enormous. Price is fair. My waiter was attentive and could read my mind. Will always go back.

It s a shame you aren t allowed to rate a restaurant zero stars. I have never ever walked out of a place without eating, unfortunately this is the first. We came here to celebrate a birthday, waited an hour and a half for appetizers (which still didn t come out when we left)before deciding to leave. Other tables in the restaurant came in after us, ate and left and we still didn t get our drinks. 4 tables in our area had the same problems we did. The bartender supposedly quit ; yet drinks were flowing at certain tables. The manager was apologizing to some tables but somehow couldn t make it to mine. Not that I was looking for an apology, I just wanted my food in a timely fashion. They clearly have no clue what they are doing here. With so many other amazing options in cape May (we already went to 410 bank street...amazing; lobster house..always a good solid meal and the Washington inn...a cape May classic for a reason) do yourself a favor and stay far away.

Had come to Cape May with my family long ago, came back now with my fiancee. Only stayed one night.

Positives:
- Location (right across from beach, beautiful view from 6th floor, can hear ocean at night, everything feels peaceful and relaxing)
- Very clean room
- Staff accommodating and helpful (Let us check in early since room was ready)
- Parking is right behind building
- Nice pool and bar
- Once on beach, reserved seats, towels, and umbrellas
- Sun deck is on a different level then pool, so even though there was a wedding reception going on at the sun deck, you could not tell from the pool area.

Things to improve:
- Have snacks for purchase (Ran out to 7-11 in the evening to get some snacks since only full meals were available from the adjoining restaurant, and they do not deliver)
- Ability to charge food on beach (cash only) and umbrella ($10 cash only) to room
- Must have key card in slot near door in order for air conditioning to run (room can get a little muggy)
- Front desk phone calls (When I would call down to the front desk, they would answer, however most times it took almost a minute to a minute and a half for someone to answer)
- Outside your room (If you are in the same little area as your door in your room and are talking people outside can hear you, as we walked up and down the hall, as you passed doors you were able to clearly hear what people were talking about when they were in the couch area)

Overall:
If we ever come back we will be sure to stay here again, overall a great experience, just need to make sure you have enough cash on you as most the extra things amenities the hotel has to offer cost you cash rather then being to add it to your room bill. I can honestly say the hotel could of gotten an extra $100 from our stay if they had been able to bill things to our room rather then only accept cash for them. Next time we visit I'll hope I can use the key card, but will remember to bring enough cash.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Ocean Club Hotel. Great place !!! The property is very clean, the room was also immaculate, we stayed on the 6th flr. No noises or smells. Very well kept property.
The entire staff is extremely nice. They made our stay very pleasant.
The staff at the Sea Salt Restaurant and Tiki Bar are great. Food at both were terrific. We can't wait to go back.

I can not even begin to put into words the amazingness (I know it's not a word but it's all I could think of) of this place. I never usually bother doing reviews but this place earned an excellent one. The beer and wine list was excellent. The food was to die for. Duck confit and watermelon salad as an appetizer. The dry aged rib eye (that I ordered rare) for dinner literally melted in my mouth and came with a great red wine reduction. When it comes time for dessert forget about everything and just go ahead and order the burnt honey ice cream. Don't think about it, just do it. It had to be the absolute best ice cream I have been ever had and I come from a place known for amazing ice cream. Your taste buds will swoon. And last but not in any way least, was the absolute spectacular service we received from the wait staff and the manager. They showed us a side of hospitality that most places have forgotten about. They were generally warm and welcoming. This place is an absolute must visit if you are in Cape May, NJ.

Absolutely fantastic bar food!! We're talking salmon tartar, grilled octopus, grapefruit seafood ceviche and homemade potato chips. The wine and beer selection is not the best, but it is adequate. Live music almost daily during the season.

The Claw game of Restaurants. Looks great, lots of menus items (the prizes), you try a few and leave you feeling ripped off. Just like the claw game. Way overpriced for what you get on your plate. The sides are so small for $9. They could double it and only miss about 50 cents of profit without having the client feeling they are ripped off and have to eat again 2 hour later. Two stars because it looks nice inside.

Definitely Not a 4 star hotel. My omelette at the Seasalt resaurant had a hair in it. Yuch. Waited 20 minutes for another one and it was sent cold. Went out on my balcony in the Am and smelled smoke from someone smoking on theirs. Yuch again. The One and only elevator made screetching noises each time I was on it. There was sand on the floor I was at. The pool area had a water drainage issue by the only pool chair that was available one of the days I was there. The sofa bed had old worn out sheets on it, called front desk to have them replaced. I don't think it was worth the top $$$ I paid and won't be planning another stay at the Ocean Club again.

I really enjoyed the food here and the staff was great. For about $22, I got two eggs, a side of bacon, a coffee, and toast which is a little on the expensive side but reasonable.

Walking in, the establishment is "classy" and plays vocal-less music which is nice. They have a bar and a VIP area which add to the classiness of the place.

The staff were well dressed, friendly, and helpful as well.

Friendly host and service! They made our non rezervation Saturday busy evening very special. I would like to thank our server Alex and Ed as our host for this lovely evening. Great and underpriced wine selection . Food is spectacular for Cape may. We have tried oysters, crab croquettes, whole branzino and fra diablo seafood medley with squid ink linguini. Definitely recommend this place!

Excellent rib eye and tasty Cobia with this amazing corn/bacon/cream salsa. Great ambiance. Very good yellowtail sashimi appy however could have used some wasabi/heat. Wine was good as well. Would have given it 5 stars but mixed drinks were weak (including a Manhattan, not quite sure how that becomes weak). Nice ambiance and despite being fancy they welcome kids. Would recommend. On the pricier side so more of a splurge.

We had their three course meal and it was outstanding. The chef puts a lot of great flavors together in the dishes served. Cannot say enough about the food quality, the service and the drinks. Sea salt is a treat and the Sunday brunch is amazing.

Very nice hotel. Rooms were comfortable, a bit strange that we had to put our room key in a contraption in the wall to get our power and AC to work, but I guess it cuts down on the electric bill. Wonderful view from the balcony of the beach. The bed was a little hard and made a lot of noise getting in and out or moving around. Grrat pool and tiki bar. They also provide loingr chairs and towels on the beach! Also loved that it is at one end of the promenade, so we got the full 2.8 moles in each day on our morning walk. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Too much attitude for my family. Drama is an understatement. Two star hotel at four star prices.
Other hotels nearby offering the same for a much more affordable prices in addition to the proper etiquette that OC lacks.
Scroll down to Jorduns review. The comment by the owner is a perfect example of the cockiness, distasteful people in charge at this hotel.

First off it is a nice looking hotel and I guess considering the location would be considered updated. The place was kept clean and visually appealing. The staff itself was very nice and offered assistance whenever possible. Aside from that I was a bit disappointment. The so called "Penthouse Floor" was far from what I would consider "Penthouse" worthy. Though I did hear kids at one point on the floor I did not hear them for the remainder of the trip. The elevator was painfully slow and hot (No AC) and there is only one so make sure you don't need to run back to your room if you are on the sixth floor and don't want to use the stairs. One of by biggest gripes would have to be the abrasive and rude phone call I received from the hotel manager. The property and room were smoke free, something that we like. Neither myself or my partner smoke but we do like like our fragrances. We have never had any issues or complaints from any hotels about the usage of candles, fragrance cones or sticks. I received a call from a manager in a very rude, insulating and threatening manor about the use of such items. A courtesy phone call would have been appreciated stating that not only do they not allow smoking on the property but you can not also light any fragrance items. Instead after apologizing she continued to implying that I was in fact smoking and then proceeded to tell me in a very threatening way that if they can not rent the room after I leave I will be charged for that persons stay. I fully understand the no smoking policy as it is something that I like since we cannot take the smell but if you are going to include candles etc in this policy it should read as such on the contract. Aside from that it was a decent place but I will not be back to this location.

Excellent service. Clean comfortable. From the amazing apps which included a lobster ravioli that could be served as a main course because it was that good and fresh to my seared halibut that was cooked in a carrot reduction. No complaints at all and Amy was very attentive and wanted our input. Definitely going on my list.

Overall the hotel is okay, the pool is great, the service at the pool is outstanding, and it is a nice location. I stayed here two weeknights (Mon-Tues) recently when it was raining. We had two cars with us and we were told that we could only park one car at the hotel. The other would have to be parked in the residential neighborhood behind the hotel. It seemed a bit ridiculous since the parking lot at the hotel was less than half full the entire time we were there. This was our second year staying here and honestly, I don't need the hassle of worrying where my car is parked (especially when there were so many available spots at the hotel). I think we will try a different hotel next year.

Wonderful little place with chic fashionable interior, comfortable outdoor seating and large roll up doors to allow window-side tables to enjoy the view with a sea breeze. The food was also delightful... a simple breakfast menu excellently prepared. I particularly enjoyed the staff interaction. Most of them have been there for years and treat regulars and visitors equally well.

This was my first time to Cape May and I wanted to stay in a place that didn t feel like it was frozen in time from the 1970s. The rooms were updated and clean. The view was great and the bar was able to pour me a nice scotch.

Only downside is the elevator is a little small.

Just ok pictures on website a little deceiving thought we were on the beach but its across the street. There's only one very small dated elevator for such a large place. We were on the 6th floor so waiting times were long. Tiki bar is nice with good music but no happy hour except inside restaurant at 530pm really?? Where it's dark inside. Why would anyone want to be inside on a warm beautiful day. Our room was clean nice but what's the point of just a beverage cooler instead of a refrigerator that u have to pay especially we were in supposed penthouse floor Paying extra when it's off season June 18 but on season prices. Came back from restaurant it said bar closes at 11pm at 10pm closed already at there discretion. We were not happy they need to change something's especially for there prices vicki

My friends and I went to Sea Salt for restaurant week this Tuesday...what a terrible experience. ..service was awful..not busy with as many workers as were customers, yet it took forever...ordered ahead all 3 courses at 7:30...at 9:30 was told that they ran out of our desert!. .also couldn't find our waitress halfway thru dinner..asked twice after another 10 minutes we were told she left!!only the bartender knew his job...he personally brought drinks from the bar to the table..he should have been our food server, maybe we would have been taken care if properly. ..disgraceful for such an establishment of this kind....f ood was acceptable, but not really worth even the 35 dollar special charge....better get their act together!!

We were most impressed with the staff and service at the Ocean Club Hotel. A minor maintenance issue was immediately addressed upon request. The beds are very comfy and rooms are clean. Convenient parking and beach access. As I unpacked at home I thought I had left a ring in the room and called immediately to ask that they be on the lookout for it. Minutes later I found it and called back. They had already alerted their entire hotel and maintenance staff which was very reassuring. They were happy to hear my news that I had found it. All in all, a great experience.

If you've ever stayed in Cape May then you know all the hotels and B&Bs are very quaint with dated furniture and surroundings. It's a Victorian town so you just accept it and move on. Ocean Club Hotel has turned that thinking on its head. Its modern and comfortable and really unique to the town. You can tell the new owners put a lot of effort and money into the place. Will be back.

We came to Cape May for an off-season conference in late March of 2013. Having been to Cape May several times before, both on and off season, I prepared myself to expect nearly anything from the hotel I had booked but never visited before. The area's accommodations vary widely in style, quality and price. What looks delightful on the web sometimes turns out to be sad and threadbare in person. However, the Ocean Club Hotel did not disappoint. It was delightful in every way, from the friendliness and efficiency of the staff to the lovely decor to the incredibly comfortable beds. Yes, it's not cheap, but honestly, I've spent just as much on hotel rooms and B&B's that were dreadful. We had a gorgeous ocean view room with a comfortable balcony, modern, spa-boutique-style furnishings, everything clean and in perfect working order. The continental breakfast was superb, especially the coffee, enjoyed from a table facing the ocean in the hotel's restaurant. Sadly, we did not stay longer than one night, but we will definitely be back, this being our favorite stay in Cape May thus far.

Visited Cape May for the first time ever & picked this hotel based on reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable.. no complaints at all. Since it was the off season the restaurant wasn't open all of the time so we didn't get the chance to eat there. The price was high especially for the off season, but the view from the balcony was worth it. Very relaxing & comfortable to sit and enjoy the view. The pool area was also very nice as was the bartender @ the Tiki Bar. The only flaws to this hotel is the elevator and back hallway areas. They should be updated to match the front end of the facility which is very nice & attractive. The front desk staff could be a bit more friendly but all in all were very accommodating to us. We would definitely stay here again!
