Good place to visit, reflect, be in contact with our lady of La Altagracia and of course accompanied at all times by God.

Catholic sanctuary finished in 1971 dedicated to the Virgin of Altagracia receives thousands of pilgrims every year devotees from all over the world.
January 21 is the recipient of L Altagracia on this day is celebrated special Mass, with the presence of the president and senior officials.
Other special Masses are January 26 and August 16, among others.
It has a large green area that many people go to exercise daily.
Great museum that shows the history of the church and great religious relics.

love my city!!! if your ever near here this is a must go!!! hands down.....this is the center of the city, huge church with an even bigger park all around it.

Majestic architecture in this quaint town of Higuey.... has a lot of history behind the bldg. Was there as part of a tour while visiting DR. Church is open daily for visitors/congregants. It's really awe inspiring when you enter, if female and visiting need to cover knees otherwise can take as many pics as desired, even of the infamous Virgin Mary painting!!!

A place that denotes the culture of devotion Our Lady of La Altagracia. It is a very large place where the Basilica is known, a museum with treasures of different offerings to the Virgin, and there are always people selling subeniles.

It is the duty of every Catholic Dominican, to visit our protector Virgen de la Altagracia, every year.

Well worth a visit, but you should be appropriately dressed. For women, if the pants are too short, a wrap must be put on (there is free to borrow)

Most visited religious temple in the Dominican Republic, with a magnificent design and a height of 80 meters. This temple was built in honor of the Virgin of Our Lady of Altagracia.
