Honestly, I had gone here before and the Falafel was really overcooked and unpalatable. However, after giving it another try and getting some chicken Shawarma with it, my opinion has definitely changed. This place may be a smidge more expensive than other Iowa City food places, but it has a place in my heart for it's vegetarian and vegan options, and the great food outside of those as well.

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Everything on the menu is top notch. The fries are some of the best in town. Lots of vegetarian choices. Fast and courteous service. Priced very fairly.

The best mid eastern food! Found this little gem on a trip to Iowa City. Returned on my second visit to this great town. Gyro delish as well as their combination platters. Hummus is excellent. Great news...their hummus is sold in local grocery stores and their restaurant for take home. Best hummus ever. This is a must place to eat!!!!!

There is a lot of variety to be had here. You want to sample everything, but that would have to take a few trips. The falafel is excellent and all the skewers are well seasoned. The dining area is a bit small, but clean.

This place has no curb appeal, no fancy decor but the food is excellent and very reasonable. Bottom line. Recommend for Mediterranean food, not for your first date. My favorite is the Falafel Sandwich with a side of the Tabouleh. It s so delicious!! We go there for lunch every once in a while. The food is always really good and the service is great too. I have eaten at Oasis for years. They have a pretty wide range of foods, and everything I have tried has been delicious. You can have a very satisfying meal here as a vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free person.

One of the better restaurants in Iowa City while also among the most affordable. Probably the best place to get a quick meal that is also quality food. Easily the best place for a wide selection of vegetarian/vegan options, but they do a terrific job preparing meat dishes as well.

Just drove over half hour to get sandwiches and got told we had to wear a mask while sitting outside trying to order food online. I m very disgusted and disappointed if someone is starving and desperate to get a good sandwich well don t waste your time driving down to iowa city you will be judged. Horrible won t ever be back. I have no problem wearing a mask but don t persecute me because I have no power and there s no food and decided to drive to get food.

Oasis Falafel it's a fantastic place! Get the lamb pita if you're a meat eater. Their falafel is fantastic as well. I like to order in advance over the phone because the line can get pretty long at lunch time, but they sure can crank it out. I wish they'd open one in Richmond VA, so I didn't have to drive 16 hours for their Pita Chips!

About Oasis Falafel

Oasis Falafel: Iowa City's Fresh Mediterranean Cuisine

If you're looking for a taste of the Mediterranean in Iowa City, look no further than Oasis Falafel. This local restaurant offers fresh, flavorful dishes inspired by the cuisine of the Middle East and North Africa.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Oasis Falafel is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, or a quick bite on-the-go. Whether you're dining in, carrying out, or having your meal delivered straight to your door, you'll be treated to delicious food made with high-quality ingredients.

One of the standout items on Oasis Falafel's menu is their namesake dish: falafel. These crispy chickpea fritters are served in a pita with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and tahini sauce. They're vegetarian-friendly and packed with protein and fiber.

But falafel isn't the only thing that Oasis Falafel does well. Their menu also includes shawarma (thinly sliced meat cooked on a spit), kebabs (grilled meat skewers), hummus (a creamy dip made from chickpeas), baba ghanoush (a smoky eggplant dip), tabbouleh (a parsley-based salad) and more.

All of these dishes are made fresh daily using locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant also offers gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.

In addition to their delicious food offerings, Oasis Falafel is committed to sustainability and community involvement. They use compostable packaging whenever possible and donate leftover food to local charities at the end of each day.

Overall, if you're looking for fresh Mediterranean cuisine in Iowa City that won't break the bank or compromise on quality or flavor - then look no further than Oasis Falafel!
