I retained Lisa Do on the spot when I first met with her, and it was the best decision I could've made. I found the firm after being served with papers by my ex, when mediation with another attorney failed.

Lisa guided me through an acrimonious divorce with class and dignity, and the staff always treated me with respect and compassion.

Lisa was always well prepared for meetings and conferences with Opposing Counsel, and I appreciated her attention to detail.

If I could give a zero, definitely would. Reason I didn't was because the paralegal was wonderful.
My son was going through a divorce while also working out a parenting plan, and child support, this was four years ago. While paying out approximately $6000.00 dollars plus in legal fees, the attorneys ( I say attorneys, because they gave his case to another attorney because the original one was given a "bigger" case). did nothing more than consult with him at the law office, and didn't directly in person confer with the opposing attorney.
He ended up losing his son and paying an absurd amount of child support.
Because his Ex was (is) a terrible mother and example, he finally had enough and sought the help of a wonderful attorney (Don't know if I can use his name here, but would love to). This attorney got his son back to him the next day of contacting him, got him full custody with child support from the mother. His was a flat fee of $5000.00 dollars. If my son would have been charged the usual fee of $300.00 per hour, he would have paid well over 13.000 dollars. Also, he filed every court document and attended every court date with my son.
I am just saying this to all of you, that it really helps to look around and get recommendations. We found this attorney on
AVVO, and would encourage anyone looking for an attorney to check their site.

Over the course of a 2-year custody battle, Kathryn Peterson tirelessly and thoughtfully fought on behalf of my two kids with heart and passion. I'm frankly befuddled as to the mixed bag of reviews to be found about this firm...

My first attorney, Kathryn Peterson, took my case even though it was clearly unlikely to be an easy or profitable one. She fought tooth and nail for me, and best of all, she won. She put out fires left and right, caused by my ex-husband, daughter's father, and my own emotional outbursts.

I was initially worried when Kathryn transferred my divorce case to another attorney in the firm, Catherine Victorino, but my fears were swiftly put to rest when Cate began plowing through the piles of paperwork and evidence (to alleviate concerns, my case is MASSIVE, with multiple moving parts; the transfer was motivated by time constraints and hostility on the part of opposing counsel).

It was clear from the get-go that her top priority was seeing me fairly treated and settled in court. She went to bat for me numerous times when opposing counsel stepped out of line and stone-walled negotiations completely.

This is the ONLY firm you will find on this side of Washington that cares more about their clients than cash; a frankly moving attribute to find today when even the exchange of a credit card for a milkshake at the drive-thru can feel like the end of a Mexican Stand-off.

While both of my cases are still working, I feel confident with the help of every single person in this office- seriously, the front desk staff actually bother to remember my name and Ami (paralegal) is a down-to-earth genius. Thank you all for your help!

I hired Kris to help me get full custody of my children. I was just about 1-year into a divorce which included a parenting plan requiring 50/50 custody with my ex and a child support order that had me paying each month. My ex had essentially abandoned the children and her obligation but I was stuck with the court orders, thus stuck with paying child support and not having any closure for the children. It was an incredibly stressful situation and Kris was on top of things from day 1. I could write a 10-page review about all that went on but I ll summarize by saying he achieved the outcome I was looking for. Furthermore, he secured temporary orders, almost immediately after taking my case, which provided my family with a tremendous amount of relief during the rest of the court proceedings.
Prior to meeting with Kris I had talked with several other attorneys. I had a lot of legal experience having handled my own divorce pro se. I felt like most were just telling me what I wanted to hear and didn t seem to care much about me. In a few cases I thought I would be better off representing myself. Kris was different. I hired him on the spot.
He listened, he understood, and he explained things very clearly. He does not provide false hope. He explains strategies clearly and allows you to control the level of risk/reward you are comfortable taking. In my case he delivered exactly what we had talked about in our very first meeting. I felt confident in Kris s representation. That s huge when you re going through any type of stressful case. I never worried that the other team would somehow get one over on him. They never did.
There s an office behind Kris and I d be remiss if I didn t mention some of the other things that made my experience less stressful. Kris utilizes a paralegal to handle legal filings, documentation updates, and other activities around a legal case. Melodie was assigned to my case and she was outstanding. Our filings were always on time or early, our responses were timely, and I never worried about missing a deadline or having anything fall through the cracks. Shay in the billing department was also very pleasant. Bills were clear and easy to understand. Bills arrive via email and so do receipts for payment. This made it simple to review, pay, and track my activity from my phone. The office itself is pleasant and peaceful and it feels very successful. I wouldn t know if they have a voice mail system as my calls were always answered by a human and returned same day if Kris wasn t available. Emails were also returned same day or early the next day if I sent one off in the late evening.
Kris will definitely be my attorney should I ever require legal assistance in the future. I m certain he could duke it out in court but his demeanor and professionalism secured my outcome without having to go there. He s always focused on securing the outcome and he works very well with opposing council to achieve it.

Catherine Victorino & her paralegal, Ami, are amazing! They helped me throughout the whole process and they were super informative and supportive through it all. I can honestly say that they both genuinely cared about my case and did everything in their power to make sure that the outcome was the best possible for my child and myself. We just recently were able to wrap up my case by getting my ex to settle and avoided trial. Couldn t be happier

Catherine Victornio is a very proficient attorney, but she has genuine empathy for her clients. In my opinion, this makes her push herself harder to get the desired outcome. This is exactly what she did for me, including following up after the case had concluded to check that I was doing well.
