Just dropped in for lunch, so I can t comment on the accommodation (but Novotel is usually great). Wait staff in the restaurant were very accommodating and friendly. Sit outside? No problem. Want something not on the menu? No problem. Nice pool area and quite a good view. Next time I m back I ll probably stay here.

The best hotel of our entire trip to Viet Nam & Cambodia. Really the only 5* star hotel even though some others were rated 5 *'s.
The room are gorgeous and the bathroom is knock out with a bathroom with an window looking out.
The room was very comfortable and the staff were were kind and professional. The spa is a must with decent prices. This place is only let down by the selection of food served at breakfast, which is limited and includes concentrated fruit juice(!)
The rooms and the pool are really nice.
Basically, The whole hotel is beautiful, really loved the architecture here, very special place. My family and I were robbed while we were at the taxi and the customer service at the lobby were very helpful they told us what we should do about it and where we should go to talk with and I really appreciate that.
Beautiful.. did the 2 day trip it was good, but doing one day trip only should be enough.

I spent 3 days in Halong Bay in Jan 2020. It was a wonderful stay before spring festival and covid 19. LOL. As being an Accor gold memeber, I had free upgrade to executive room with water views. The room is with a lot of space. Service was great. But all the restaurants outside the hotel was so quite. It seemed very few tourists coming into Halong bay during Jan 2020. really strange. overall it was a great stay.
Good hotel, interior is a bit old that needs renovation soon.
Ridiculous prices for airport transfers 1,800 dong quited, local taxi charged 500,000 to go to Hai Phong Airport. Same with happy hour drinks at bar, not buy one get one free, but second drink 30% discount, on already inflated prices. Reasonable breakfast buffet.
