I spilled a tall glass of water on my MacBook Pro....

I spilled a tall glass of water on my MacBook Pro. Apple directed me to Nova Networks as an authorized repair place. When I dropped it off, I was told it would take 3 business days to get an estimate. I received an email the next day that my laptop was essentially a write-off. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I took my laptop to another computer technician, who told me there's no way anyone had even opened the laptop, as there were no fingerprints inside and the dust was undisturbed. It's as if the technician just read "water damage" and wrote the whole thing off.

My iPhone battery had to be replaced during COVID. Since all Apple stores are closed, this shop was open. I read the Google reviews and dreaded the upcoming experience. My personal experience was great. I didn't like some of the processes that they had in place but understood them and accepted them in this "new" environment. Not a ranking of 4+, but a 5-.

I logged my ticket and didn't get a call back as promised that day. So I called back. Both experiences were really good in logging the ticket. I think that the ticketing process could be improved so that a person is provided a ticket number by the agent before they hang up the phone. This process made it a 5-.

All of my experiences after the initial call were exceptional. Email interactions, phone interactions as well as the dropping off of the phone and picking it up at the end. I even had a follow up call to make sure that everything was working with the phone a few days after getting it back.

The thing that I liked about this company was that once I mentioned I had the battery replaced by another Apple approved shop the contacted Apple to get the details and didn't charge me for the replacement. I didn't have to deal with that problem.

Overall, my experience was very positive, hence my ranking.

Terrible place. Not friendly, Incompetent and dishonest .
Went there to repair my MacBook (spilled liquid on the keyboard) just because Apple Store has no available time slots in the coming week.
I went there in confidence because Apple lists this place as a recommended or certified partner.
First of all, they charge 50$ just to look at your device.
The day after I dropped my laptop, they called me to tell me that the total cost of reparation is higher than a new one (1300$ + Taxes) !!!
Because I thought that it was a total loss, I took their data transfer service (180$).
I took my laptop to another place where they don't charge you to check your device. Guess what? Laptop fixed and working like a charm for 500$ (Taxes included).
Bottom line, don't go there unless you willfully wannabe scammed.

If I could give them a lower review I would. This is my first review I ve ever left but I don t want anyone else to experience the utter incompetence that I have experienced with them. They are extremely defensive, unprofessional and completely incompetent. I took in my MacBook Air twice as they re a certified repair store and both times they were unable to identify and fix my issue and instead made some Frankenstein monster out of my laptop saying this part needs to be replaced and then oh another part has to be replaced. Now I m left with a laptop that has a fried battery and an even worse issue than what I went in with. And their customer service is horrendous nobody listens to your concerns. They even marked down my laptop as a MacBook Pro so who knows what kind of parts they put in it.

Nova Networks is an authorized Lenovo service depot in Ottawa. I had my ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 6's keyboard repaired (replaced) by them, using Lenovo's warranty. Due to pandemic restrictions, I decided to call beforehand, and they were able to schedule a time for me to drop off my laptop.

The technician was very good about keeping me in the loop about what he needed to do with my machine, and it only took a couple days for them to do the repairs, even when including the time it took for Lenovo to ship replacements parts.

I think there may be room for improvement, when it comes to their ticket management though. I was initially assigned a ticket after talking to Lenovo's own customer service, but none of that information was transferred over, so Nova Networks ended up asking me for the same information again and assigning me a second ticket.

Overall, I was still very happy with their service.

The quality of the follow up with the customer is poor. I had 4 different technicians handling my battery replacement, and each one had a different information on the state of the repair. One told me that the battery had been correctly ordered and would be ready within 2 weeks while another one told me the battery hadn't even been ordered yet... Apart from these few bad events it went fine, I got my laptop earlier than expected, they charge as they say, no hidden fees, and my laptop seems to work normally now, no loss of any documents or no memory erase, which is a really good point.

Beware - poor service and unprofessional. Would not recommend under any circumstance.

Absolute amateur hour.

Emails left unresponded to, extremely slow (multiple month for simple repair), no communication with customer or within the organization.

*edit: 5 star reviews are definite fakes. Looks like other customers had same brutal experience as us. Do not pay money to be treated like this.*
