North Shore Congregational Church: Growing Christian Discipleship in a Faith Community
North Shore Congregational Church is a vibrant faith community located in the heart of Northbrook, Illinois. Our church is committed to growing and deepening Christian discipleship through worship, spiritual formation, youth programming, and fellowship events. We believe that our purpose is to draw closer to one another and to God as we seek to live out our lives of faith.
Our church was founded in 1955 by a group of families who were seeking a place where they could worship together and grow in their faith. Over the years, our congregation has grown and evolved, but our commitment to Christ remains steadfast. Today, we are proud to be part of the United Church of Christ denomination.
At North Shore Congregational Church, we believe that worship is at the heart of our life together as a community. We offer two Sunday services each week β one traditional service at 9:30 am and one contemporary service at 11:00 am β both featuring inspiring music and thought-provoking sermons from our pastors.
In addition to worship services, we offer many opportunities for spiritual formation throughout the week. Our adult education program includes Bible studies, book clubs, and discussion groups on topics ranging from social justice issues to personal growth. We also have an active youth program for children from preschool through high school that includes Sunday School classes as well as special events like retreats and mission trips.
Fellowship is also an important part of life at North Shore Congregational Church. We believe that building relationships with one another helps us grow closer to God as well. That's why we offer many opportunities for members of all ages to connect with each other outside of worship services β from potluck dinners after church on Sundays to game nights for teens.
We are also committed to serving others both locally and globally through mission work. Our outreach efforts include supporting local food pantries and homeless shelters as well as partnering with organizations around the world on projects like building schools in Haiti or providing clean water in Africa.
