Well maintained rest area. Also has a visitor information brochures, merchandise/souvenir purchase area, coffee vending machine inside the building.

P.S: For people taking 495, its the exit right after exiting the rest area so stick to right lane.

I have to compare this to the Welcome to NH area and that venue has everything. It is open all the time, is spacious, has a significant number of restrooms. On the other hand, when driving south, the Massachusetts edition is specific hours of operation so that is a substantial limitation. There are no outdoor port-a-potties either. The inside is rather spartan. So, irrespective of the demeanor of the workers, my review is an analysis of the venue.

This is a non profit volunteer run visitor center. I always assumed they all were tax payer funded but I learned something new. Employees/volunteers were really interesting to talk to. They know a lot about Massachusetts history if you are not from the area. Inside you can find a touch screen and posters of information about some of the historical landmarks in the area. Closes at 530 I believe so don't stop at night.

Unfortunately it's not open 24hrs so late night bathroom stops are a no go. An they also use an experimental composting waste disposal system which is a toilet with a giant hole that gives a nice draft on your bum while your dropping of some friends.

This is a highway rest area. Generally people want to rest at night. This facility has hours of operation. I pulled in with no time left on my clock. I ate dinner before I went to use the bathroom (or tried to anyway). I found the doors locked with a sign advising people to use the bathrooms at businesses off of the exit. That may be fine for cars, but I'm 85' long and on electronic logs that say I can't move until my break is up. The best part is I'll be leaving before they're open again so still no bathroom. They're all too happy to take your money in the vending machines around the clock, though. People wonder why their bushes get peed on and they find human excrement places it shouldn't be. Wonder no more. When you take away all other options, people resort to behavior that is more fitting of animals. On the other side of the highway, the NH welcome center is actually welcoming. Just north, the Kennebunkport service plaza is the same. Had I known that this place was so awful, I'd have stopped there. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here now. CT has ridiculous hours for their rest areas, as well. At least they have the common sense and decency to make port-a-potties available. Congratulations on being the absolute worst state to drive in in all of New England, Massachusetts! You deserve absolutely nothing trucks have to bring you.

Parked here over night. During this covid crash the restrooms were closed at 10 pm. It is a rest stop for all travelers the bath rooms should be open 24/7. But was a clean safe place for the night.
