E.R is insanely slow. I've literally been here for 5 hours. Took nurses a good 30 minutes to take my blood. Nurses did a shift change and the new ones don't seem to know anything about what's going on with my case. I suggest going to a different E.R if you're having an emergency.

What a joke of a hospital. They refused to discharge my newborn grandson even after we demanded it. He was being kept for observation for a medical condition that he doesn't even have. They induced my daughter 3 weeks early against her wishes, took the baby after skin to skin, then wouldn't let her see him for 2 days! They called children's division after we insisted releasing him AMA, then realized they didn't have a leg to stand on so they let my daughter stay another night. We shall see what tomorrow brings! 10/10 do not recommend. My children were born at this hospital, so much has changed......
Arrived late to my appointment due to rain downpours, trees in road, and absolutely no parking at the facility. Had to pay $100 for being late and was never seen. I waited over 6 months to be seen by my regular doctor again and sadly that wait will probably be longer. Highly considering never coming back to this facility. Make me really sad to be completely honest because they use to be good.
All good except for the billing department. For goodness sake don't have a problem there, or it will never get solved. All else 4 stars. billing stars above.
Owned by people that care much more about profit then the patients well being. There's times I've driven 20 miles away with chest pain just to avoid this hospital. From the check in person to the time you leave. Its all business and no empathy what so ever.
My wife and I literally observed a patient once code in the waiting room from the wait and turn blue and no one checked on him for 20 minutes until several people went to the desk and pointed it out. I have no idea if he survived or not, they rushed him back and I decided to leave after seeing that.
I would have recorded it but out of respect for the person and any possible family I did not, which sadly is why no one knows about it other than us who were there and saw it. Its a disgusting place. But that's just my opinion. It wasn't always this way I grew up down the road from this hospital. Different owners/operators definently change things I suppose. But yeah, it's ALL profit and the attitude of the staff and un-friendliness of the entire hospital from the top down reflects that. Its better then dying I guess. At least the law is there to make them at least have to treat you.
I had a shoulder replacement in February. What should have been a one night stay turned into five days due to low oxygen levels. I was kept very comfortable by the entire staff. The nurses and techs were particularly cheerful and helpful. Their rules regarding visitors seem less rigid and more relaxed than I remember. The hospital menu was available around the clock and was delicious!
There was some confusion the evening that I was discharged, making it very late when I was actually able to leave. My nurse, Thomas Loafman, stayed a considerable length of time past the end of his shift in order to make sure that the mission would be accomplished. He also took the time to talk to my daughter at frequent intervals to set her mind at ease. When we discovered that it was too late to exit easily, Thomas rolled me downstairs and put me in the car himself! A huge shout out to Thomas!! I wish I could remember more names to whom I could give accolades, but praise should be given to the entire ninth floor staff. I would have been happy to stay even longer.
The doctors here are professional and helpful. The nurses are friendly and kind. We had good experience with NKCH so far. I like their availability when you cannot get an appointment at other hospitals. They are here to help.
The staff here are wonderful overall. Overworked, of course. We arrived at the ER last evening around 5:30pm and were able to get into a room in the ER around midnight. If we were going to catch COVID, the NKCH ER waiting room is the place to do that. Probably 75-100 people crammed into the tiny space. After being admitted for the night, my dad was moved to a room upstairs around 5am. As you may have guessed, the hospital is brimming with patients at this time. Getting a room in the hospital does not mean a safe, sanitary place. I'm sure the staff do their best with what they are given, but look at the table in the attached photo. That table is a haven for germs and bacteria if I've ever seen such! Time to update the facilities and swap out old, worn out, unsafe furniture.
The staff was so friendly and upbeat. It definitely helped with the anxiety and fear before, during and after my surgery. Such a great team! And they even sent me a get better card!
