We took our child to the Children's Clinic August 8th of last year. I just now today received that bill for services rendered that day. Not only are they billing me a WHOLE YEAR later, they charged me for 2 extractions when we only had one. I am not impressed with their ability to maintain their records in the least. It is nothing short of amazing they are able to maintain the facility if oversight like this happens on their billing system!

Waited for over an hour and a half, there were only two other people there for appointments, and they couldn't tell me anything that urgent care hadn't already told me.
The receptionist was extremely friendly, didn't catch her name and so was the nurse. The Doctor though, Kit, absolutely freaking horrible! I advise you DO NOT see this doctor! EXTREMELY rude and kicks you out of the room making you leave your kid behind for shots and a physical. The lady Obviously HATES her job bc the moment she walks into your room she has it written all over her face. Unless you like rude people, wouldn't recommend this doctor not even for a sick dog. Request a different doctor for your child.
I have been treated very poorly here. They rushed with some pretty serious dental work and were sloppy and demeaning to me. I am a grown woman, a wife and a mother and they treated me like a child. I felt like I was being bullied in high school.
Just moving here from NC, i was nervous about finding another facility to take care of my pre-existing health issues. Kate was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and understanding of my conditions. They were quick to get me an appt and I've never waited long to be seen. The only issue I would have(which isn't their fault) are lab results. They don't have a lab on property so they send your blood work and cultures to Samaritan. It takes a few days to get results back. I took a breath test for gastrointestinal infection and its been almost 2 months with no results back yet. I am currently pregnant and have to treat this if results are positive. So my advice is if they don't call within a few days, just follow up with them constantly so something doesn't potentially go untreated. Other than that, Kate and the staff have been good to me. I can't wait to go back after the baby's born.
Dr Katherine Zeley Is a very rude Dr! She was very rude to me and my daughter who is only 12yrs old....She came into our appt after we waited 1hr in which I don t mind because I m use to it....her whole face was red and stressed out. She decided to take her frustration out on me and my child. My daughter has Asthma and take 3 to 4 meds a day. I have her Asthma under control at this time. I was just coming to get a note for her school to do full remote learning for her. The Indian River District simply wants a note stating she has asthma for her to be able to do full remote learning. And she has a problem with me because I m want to keep my kids safe! I have never had this experience here!!! Something has to be done about her! She is not good for this place!
For several years I have been using this clinic, had the best dr. Dr O, can't pronounce his name. Dr O suddenly left for some unknown reason? then saw Dr stern. Then Dr Chin. do not end up with Dr Chin I question if he's Dr, tried to tell me ankylosing spondylitis and ankylosing spondylosis are one and the same disease while trying to convince me that he is a BACK SPECIALIST ?. I suffer from spondylitis and have since the mid seventys I am 61 now and suffer horrible pain from it. when I questioned the Dr about the disease to see what he knows he just sat and stared. listen ppl be careful here or you will get hurt like myself
This review is for the dental clinic in Leray. These people are the BEST! On the phone. In person. Clerical. Cleaning and x-rays. Doctor exam. All of it. I don t know how they managed to find this many highly skilled, kind hearted, patient and talented people and put them all in one place, but I am so glad they did. Everyone should experience an exam here before choosing where to continue their dental care. I m actually looking forward to getting the rest of my dental work done. That s something I never thought I would say. Oh, and one last thing. The flossing was painless. PAINLESS!!! You all know what I m talking about here!
Called to schedule a new patient dental appointment, and had a question regarding insurance. Receptionist was extremely rude. I'm sorry but how do you expect to get new patients, if your receptionists have an attitude to any question? If your receptionists cannot answer basic questions based on what insurances are accepted, maybe they should not be answering the phone
I was having problems with my health insurance (long story) and I was very desperate to see a doctor despite being uninsured. I trusted North Country Family Health Center because their website said they go out of their way to help the uninsured. When I called, I was told my visit would cost me $50-$80. When I got there for my appointment, I was told it would be $200. They knew I had little choice because I was very concerned for my health. I would expect this sort of bait and switch from a car salesman, not a health clinic.
The person I saw (Dr. Stern) was very disinterested and I could tell he just wanted me out of there, and basically just bounced after about 30 minutes or less, even though I didn't feel like I got to adequately explain my situation. They ordered some generic blood tests and totally ignored my symptoms. I got a call a few days later saying my "results were good" with no sort of explanation or follow up appointment. I still have no answers for what's making me feel sick.
Avoid this place - they'll pretend to care about you but they really don't. They take advantage of sick people.
I've been taking my son there for quite some time, I haven't really had any issues with them except when they said my son had "scabies" and it turned out to be a viral infection (took them 3 months to figure out). Imagine the agony I went through thinking my child had scabies... Anyways, every other time they have been phenomenal!
All the lies about a bill they sent me. They said they would forgive the bill and turn around say we need your payment. You really need to watch out and get EVERYTHING IN WRITTING..... Watch out for Dr. Lam because the fillings he puts in keep falling out. I will be going somewhere else and I highly recommend you should to. I am also going to contact the attorney general and BBB. If you want to keep your teeth you will stay away.
My son has gone here 4 years and never had an issue unti today. After waiting almost 2 hours in what s now a public waiting room my son who has bad anxiety about the dr office his dr comes in and says she ll come back when he s done crying knowing how he is. My time is just as valuable as theirs and I m not there to play games and also the place is going to turn into a dump they should have lefti it north country children s clinic now they are a clinic for heroin addicts as well on the same day we are bringing our children there. If I could give 0 stars I would!
do the nurse line even answer their phone or VOICEMAILS??? I have been on quarantine for almost 2 weeks and I have left numerous voicemails in regards to making important shot appointments and forms for my daughter s school and not a SINGLE call back. Now my daughter is suspended from school due to no proof of appointment date now..... thanks a lot!
The staff is outstanding and very friendly. The dentist Dr.Jain is the most honest doctor that I've been to since moving to the North country. If I could pick ten stars I definitely would give this office it. Outstanding people who actually care about the patient. Thank you. Sincerely Jon Gibb Sr.
My hygienist was very nice and did a good job at giving me a deep cleaning, that's a plus. Otherwise every filling I received here was still sensitive and painful even months after. I was told I had 11 cavities, which I'm sure now is untrue because I got a second opinion on the last ones I needed and surprise there are no cavities. The first tooth I had filled was poorly done and not polished correctly so it stabbed my lip and was pretty irritating. I had one tooth I'm sure could have been done better which is now more filling than tooth they said, which I had asked to fix it without drilling because it was broken, but he drilled anyways even though he said there was no cavity and now it will probably need a crown. I was informed that my composite filling would last less than 5 years according to the dentist who insisted I didn't take good care of my teeth even though I brushed 2-3 times and floss. The remaining teeth that were filled I'm unsure even need filled to begin with and hurt pretty bad when flossing. Also I can for 2 teeth to be filled one day and surprise he mentioned after the appointment there was another tooth where the filling seemed to have came out and filled it without showing or asking me anything. My dentist seemed incompetent and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place one bit. If you have been here please ask for a second opinion at a good dental office because I am now paying for this and cannot chew on one side of my mouth still due to the pain months after.
Dr.Lam is the best! he did all of my fillings, he even remembered that i have anxiety and worked with it so i wasnt so nervous. would deffently recomend him for work. everyone I've met in this office is so nice, i wouldn't want to go anywere else <3 Thank you guys so much!
I have a major fear of the dentist, but the Norht Country Childrens Clinic has changed that for me. The entire staff at the clinic is extremely kind and non judgemental. During my first cleaning my hygentist was so kind and gave me help tips about brushing and flossing. I had to have a few fillings and during them the dentist and the assistant were always asking if I was doing okay. I am so greatful to that to everyone at the office. Anyone that shares my fear of the dentist this is the dental office for you.
This place is worse for public decency! If there s an issue with an appointment good luck! They have 5 people on the front desk but can t ansewer the phone? Why? No one has the ansewers? I will be reporting there bad business practices to the necessary people to hopefully have these issues fixed! I reported the issues to the administrator an she didn t seem to care a bit! If I make an appointment an I m running late an I call they refuse to wait! But if I m on time I have to wait? What sense does that make.. Rediculous.. Rememeber my insurance company pays your salary! You don t pay me to be there. I pay you!
I wouldn't even give one star if I could. Do not bring your children here. I had the worst experience dealing with these people. The dentist seem nice and are good at what they do. But the staff is horrible and if you make an appointment don't count on it still being there. They will cancel your appointment and not tell you. This happened to me twice! Also they rescheduled an appointment causing my son to have to wait even longer for treatment. They don't care.
I went in because I have a broken tooth. I sat in the waiting room, languishing in pain for 45 minutes. I had to ask if someone was going to see me. I am a transgender woman and I was misgendered by everyone in the office, from the receptionist to the technician to the dentist even after I asked them to stop. I was asked to do something that further damaged my tooth and cause me more pain, and all this pain and humiliation for the dentist to look at it and go "Yep it's broken." Of course it's broken... I knew it was broken and that's the reason I called you in the first place. As I left, they had the stones to ask me If I wanted to set up another appointment only to tell me that they couldn't do anything for me and I had to talk to an oral surgeon. Why the hell couldn't you have told me that on the phone and saved me the trouble? Is it just so you could charge my insurance for the x-ray? I wouldn't go back here if it was the only dentist in town. Going there was a waste of time and as I left they had the stones to ask me if I wanted to set up another appointment.
I recently moved here from Minneapolis and had to start fresh with a dentist. I started by referring to the provider list my insurance company provides. I chose North Country Childrens Dental clinic because their website looked professional and I wanted to be able to go where my son goes (makes life easier). I sent in paperwork before scheduling my first appointment. The woman who recieved my paperwork via email took several days in getting back to me. When I got there for my first visit, I got a lecture about not being on time from one of their hygenists. It actually wasn't my fault, it was their receptionist's fault for giving me the wrong time. I brushed that one off because the hygenist was an airhead anyway. The second time I was there, I was getting two fillings done. After I was done, I waited at the "check out" counter to pay. The "check in" receptionist said she could help me so I went to her line where she proceeded to tell me she couldn't help me (run my credit card on her computer) so I waited there as I watched the other receptionist check out the 3 people that were behind me (approximately ten minutes). After I left from that appointment, I went home and waited for the numbing agents to wear off. When they finally did I went to eat dinner and noticed my teeth were a bit sensative. A few days later they were still, so I called the dental office. No one answered and I left a message. 3-4 days later, I hadn't recieved a return phone call so I called again and explained my problem. The lady with a monotone voice then asked me a series of questions, which would have been answered for her if she actually listened to me when I was explaining my problem, and then told me I would have to be seen in a few days. She had nothing to offer as advice, no apology on not calling back, nothing. At this point, I'm fed up with their lack of professionalism and angry that my tooth still hurts! It felt better before I got the filling.
Any staff that I interacted with was friendly enough, that's not the issue. The dental clinic is not full service. They told me that they could not address a cavity that abutted a crown as they don't do crown work. I was told on July 9 that they would refer me to another provider in my insurance network and I would hear from someone in 7-10 business days. Here it is July 25 and not a word from anyone. I've moved on to another practice. On my one and only visit I was also asked income based questions in their paperwork. I have insurance and the ability to pay. My income is not their business. When questioned on this they state that it's necessary for some of their grant funding. I won't be back.
I trusted dr stern as a doctor and since he was also the doctor of my psychopath ex he called cps on me not one not two but 3 times. even though i have never failed drug tests and have been a faithful patient. So if you are coming to this office for recovery and have a child just know not to trust these people, they will lie and take gossip to cps and try to have your children taken! So much for a compassionate doctor that wants to "help" his patients. Also went days and days without meds bc he decided being on a boat was more important than my health and called into work after already not writing enough meds to reach my appt. Also the staff are very rude and even heard them making fun of a woman that was upset because she sat 5 hours and was pregnant they laughed because she left. Hands down worse decision i ever made going to this doctor.
It's impossible to actually call for help. I have tried countless times to call and even make an appointment for my son, and I'm told to leave a message and I NEVER get a call back. Try and call the after hours for help and once again, never get a call back. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Never had a bad experience with them. Haven't been there in years and requested my child's shot records, offered to fax or mail all the way to the west coast.
Worst experience , rude doctors, racist receptionists . Discrimination is 100% aceptable in this place. If your kids are sick they need to wait one or two days to see the doctor oh and the time they told you to go not the time you are available , so you need to tell your kids to wait to get sick.
Dr. Lam is INCREDIBLE! He has a fun way of putting you at ease with humor. He s warm, non judgemental and highly skilled. Talk about FAST! You can tell he loves his job and cares deeply for all his patients and our well being. I trust him implicitly! As for the hygienists, Sharon has the most gentle touch. They are all professional but she s really special. She s thorough and explains everything in a way that s easy to understand. She makes a lasting impression. I appreciate North Country Family Dental so much! I gave 4 stars because their resources are limited and their equipment is old. They have to refer you out to others for wisdom teeth to be pulled and if you ever need a root canal. If they had all the modern accommodations that other dental practices have, I KNOW they would 5 stars.
Had a great dental visit today! Christina helped me to get signed up for the portal and my check in went very quick. Natasha was very gentle in her cleaning and took the time to answer my questions. Dr. Lam is a great dentist and very thorough in his explanations. Would recommend to anyone looking for a dental provider!
Called to schedule a new patient appointment for my son due to concerns I have with the current dentist he is seeing. I informed them of how at my sons current dentist everything is rushed and I don t feel his dental work is being done properly. I scheduled a appointment for him to come here but an hour before the appointment I was called to be told that they don t want to see my son. That he is better off continuing to see the hack job dentist he is currently seeing. Clearly these people have no genuine concern or care for the patients they see. So, back on the hunt for a new dentist again!
