North Central Surgical Center Review

I have had two orthopedic surgeries here. As a retired nurse, I am pretty picky. This is by far the best facility I have ever been in. The staff is amazing from admitting to personal care. I will recommend it to everyone I love. Oh, and of course Dr Curry and his staff rocks.

Great friendly staff. They are very efficient and the care and attention to detail run throughout. I am in the medical field and know how it should be.... They do it right. This is my second time to have surgery here and the experience is identical. They explain everything very well and make sure you understand. Everyone seems to love working for North Central Surgical Center, and it shows. Keep up the good work. I wish I would have written everyone's name down so I could thank them all here... It started from check in all the way through to the tech that weekend me out. My nurse Caroline was always making sure everything was right and that I was doing everything right, always with a smile and sweet caring personality. Chris the Physical therapist was friendly, knowledgable and energetic. These are just two examples, but indicative of the whole experience. Thank you!!

Had surgery here and needed bathroom assistance. The aide was not helpful whatsoever. He left my room without putting the call bell within reaching distance.He failed to place my oxygen back on.I had the television on and the remote was to far for me to turn it off.So I was helpless.Started screaming for someone to help me.I waited for another 10 minutes and called out for help.Noone came.I am a retired nurse so decided to disconnect my heart monitor.I thought surely someone would come to my assistance then.Looked at the clock and after 40 minutes started screaming for help again.Finally after 2 hours someone heard my screams.My oxygen level did drop but I knew to take slow deep breaths.
I cannot express how negligent on so many fronts this experience was.
I did request for the nursing director to come and chat with me .
He stated that this employee was spoken to and he had worked there for 5 years.
What surprised me more than anything is the fact I had disconnected my heart monitor which should have been detected immediately at the nursing station. An audible alarm should have occured at the nursing station.
The screen at the nursing station literally would have shown up as a flat line.

It was downright dangerous. What probably bothers more than anything is the lack of concern on the directors part.Something should have been formally written up on this occurance.

I've never had any kind of surgery before, aside from dental work. I have terrible anxiety. Just terrible. I can honestly say though that being here was one of the most comforting and peaceful experiences I've ever had. The staff and nurses and doctors were wonderful. Everyone kept reassuring me "we'll take good care of you" and while at first I was thinking "yeah ok whatever" I began to realize very quickly that they genuinely meant it. They explained everything from start to finish, never made me feel stupid or dumb for asking a myriad of dumb questions (so I thought anyway). I can read people pretty well, and the genuineness and compassion for patient care truly radiates in this place. As worried as I was prior to going in, I couldn't help but be totally at peace and comforted by the level of care I received before and after surgery. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I'm not entirely sure what all they do aside from what I had done, but I would certainly pick them if I ever had to have an operation done again. Very nicely done and I see why they have received so many awards and recognitions.

From the time we arrived until we left many hours later, the staff anticipated all of our needs and was never behind schedule. They took great care of my wife and gave us confidence during the whole journey. I would definitely feel good recommending this surgical center to a friend or family member.

I had arthroscopic surgery here and it is a fantastic facility. My waiting and Recovery bed was right outside the main nurses station. While I was waiting I never turned on the TV I just sat there and listened to all the staff talking they were all so happy, joking and getting along I could tell that they really loved working there and therefore that got passed along to me. The care and efficiency could not be better! I highly recommend this Surgical Center

I received a bi-lateral (double) knee replacement on August 10th and stayed at North Central Surgical Center after the surgery which was performed by Dr. Muller and his team. Dr. Muller s surgical team did an excellent job in the surgery. My scar is already looking fantastic! And the nurses at the North Central Surgery center were the best! I ended up staying 4 days at the surgical center and the nurse staff during that time were incredibly attentive to all my needs. There was never a need to ask for a pain pill because they were right there to give it to me on the scheduled time and when I began throwing up, they were there to administer anti-nausea meds and anything else that I might have needed. I d like to specifically mention the following team members: Christina, Gloria, Emmanuel and Lobo were with me for several days and it was as if I were their only patient. They were very generous with their time when I would ask questions and so incredibly concerned about my well-being. I chose bi-lateral so I wouldn t have to go through 2 surgeries/2 recoveries/2 PT s, etc but had I been required to do two separate surgeries, I know I would have been in the best hands with Dr. Mullers surgical team and the nurses and staff at North Central Surgical Center.

Doctors are great, the only thing is that I asked 3 times to clean the room before they bring the patient to the room, I came back 1 hour later and the room is the same, dirty and I saw the cleaning ladies chatting.

I went in for ankle surgery and after the procedure I was brought into my own room after being moved from recovery. A PT was sent in, and had me walk/climb stairs with my bad ankle, which he didn't think was bad because I was numb and couldn't feel any pain. I was a minor and my mom wasn't even present when he came in, when she should have been informed and given her consent before anything happened. It turned out that I never should have been walking that soon after surgery, and what the PT did caused me EXTREME and unnecessary pain that set me back a lot. The only reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1 is because of the staff at the facility and the anesthesiologist, who were amazing. Overall though, because of this incident, I would not recommend this place.

You have to work there to see this place nasty treatment of their employees. H.R. does their job just fine, it goes wrong when the other staffers and management feed H.R. B.S. to get you fired. My personal experience. They hired me, because I was on top of my field, but yet the ones doing wrong still have their job. And they did it while I was on vacation. So when I returned, I had no job. Wow
