Norris & Stevens, Inc. Review

Moved into McNary Heights apartment in September 2019, and moved out in June of 2020 and will not ever rent from Norris and Stevens again. When we moved in on our inspection paperwork the walls were an A, when we moved out they also gave us an A and then proceeded to charge us for painting the apartment that didn t need to be painted. I called the manager Kolby and asked why we were charged for this and his response was I asked my general contractor who has been doing this for 15 years if this apartment needed to be painted before a new tenant moved in and he told me yes. Mind you that this apartment was not painted before us moving in. When we moved out Kolby said that he was very impressed by how everything looked and didn t see any need for anything other than the carpets cleaned . Then when we received our deposit back it was not only the carpet cleaning, but it was the $150.00 charge for painting. I then contacted Karen at their headquarters who was rude to me on the phone, and told me to look in the contract we signed ! I explained if you look at the check-in and out form, you will see that both were marked an A.
While we were at this apartment we encountered massive ants all over our apartment, to the point they were crawling on our ceiling as well. We kept things clean to try and eliminate them but no success. We were told that building 898 was built on an anthill and there is nothing that can be done. We also experienced the nastiest thing I have ever experienced in an apartment that I have lived in (and I have been renting for 15 years in several different places) there were mildew and mold that formed on both the windows and the walls in the apartment. We had to continually clean the walls and windows with bleach to remove it. We contacted the former Manager John who came to look at it and told us that it was our fault that the humidity was too high in the apartment, we ensured him that we were leaving windows open, and opening doors because these apartments are poorly ventilated. From the time we moved in we had to deal with stepping on carpet tacks because the thresholds between the carpet and linoleum were poorly installed and they missed tacking them down to the actual tacks. When we first moved in one of our vent heaters caught fire, luckily my girlfriend caught it fast to prevent a huge fire.

To say the least this apartment complex, management, and headquarters needs help . I will not be recommending anyone to live at a Norris and Stevens run complex! Happy we got out when we did.

I live in apartments owned or ran by Norris and Stevens. I ve asked for months to get mold in my apartment fixed, along with several other issues, the latest being my shower spraying water all over.
Well a man at Norris and Stevens names Brett told me I can t call it mold, that most of my problems didn t matter, he was belittling me and treating me like a child and ultimately hung up on me. No solutions, just a we ll see guarantee.

Health, safety and respect for clients doesn t seem to be a big thing for this company.

This company is terrible towards their tenants. They bought our complex from another management company and since they took over, the cleanliness of the property has been horrible, they don't fulfill maintenance requests, the people in the office, Greg Bickford and Patty at the front desk, are so rude and refuse to offer any real help. They tried sending me an eviction notice in February 2021 as if they legally have any right to do so. This company is shady and the people who work there are just in it for the money. They don't care about tenants AT ALL.

Norris and Steven s appears to be a scamming agency even when you have proof that nobody has the right to enter into a contract and you want proof to settle a alleged debt they give you a runaround. Now there phone has been turned off or disconnected ether way no info has been updated on there site. There so meany complaints of there slum lord ways there two faced Two handed ways but yet I can t find a class action sute let alone any law sute on the web dose anyone know of one please post there destroying lives.

I lived in a Norris and Stevens property for 8 years and they are charging me for painting (nail holes in the wall I guess you are not supposed to hang pictures). A bathroom heater that worked fine and carpets that were at least 8 years old and needed to be replaced.

In addition expect to be asked to leave work early at least every other week in the summer because there is always some sort of inspection going on, maintenance, fire alarm, cleaning the dryer vent etc. They can never schedule it for the same day. You are also told regularly that you can't park in your own parking spot because they are doing this and that for maintenance which gets rescheduled frequently at the last minute.

I don t normally write reviews, but this company is an excellent example of outstanding professionalism and the customer service is just well done! They over see their properties closely ensuring they are communities not just buildings. The move in process of all of their properties are concise with detailed documentation of rules/regulations, Even the move out costs are in writing so there are NO surprises. I highly recommend renting a Norris and Stevens property, they are well managed and maintained!

This place is just out to rip people off
Moved gave proper notice of 30 days had carpet shampooed replaced all light bulbs cleaned thoroughly
I was sent a bill for over $400 plus the $1000 deposit they kept has happen both times I have rented from them they own half the towns rentals where I live BEWARE!

I'm okay with the management of the apartment complex in Bend. The head office though has the rudest staff. My wife called to see if we can arrange a payment plan for move out balance. The only balance remaining is the difference from our deposit and the penalty for early termination. The person on the other end was very aggressive from my wife's account and even threatened to sue if we didn't paid in full immediately. It feels like we are being treated for being delinquent on payments. Talk about customer service.

Do Not Rent From These People!!. Mt.Crest Apartments in Gresham Oregon are the most poorly run apartments you can find here. The so called managers well you guessed it they are useless the one he is a drunken doat the other you never see her at any given time. Getting anything fixed here Yeah hold your breath because it won't happen the owners are cheap skates who care only about money. So all and all if you like spending your hard earned money on a rat trap apartment by all means do so. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I m not going to go into details but WORST service I have received. I had an issue and thought calling the main office might help but NO. They belittled me, didn t let me speak, or would speak over me. Just extremely RUDE. If you don t like to help people get a different job!
