Today is not a good day probably. Ordered steak & eggs for breakfast and steak was pinkish inside can barely slice it. Supposedly medium well and was not satisfied, no A1 sauce , asked for coffee refill and grape jelly. Not a busy but I guess there was only a few servers. Vacuum was going while people are eating. Overall their service is deteriorating.
Its good place employees Were good and helpful. Everything. Was good until we got to pay. The cashier Jackie, had avery rude attitude. She got mad I ask for a recipes for company expens. I would of put a 5 star. But this knocked. A couple of them down.
The food was tasty I live norms. But this time our server was really slow. The food was kind of cold. We asked for lemon in our water we never got it. He said he would bring it but never did. He was suppose to bring us salt and pepper and ketchup and hot sauce he brought it after we where done eating. Like I said I love norms. But this experience wasn't good. And we waited 20 to 30 minutes just to get our food. It was the waiter not Norms cause I love Norms
It is a good place and they give a good service..and cheap.
Would be a 5 star but the long wait time (45min). But food and service are great
I want to give them more stars, but unfortunately I had to use the restroom while I was there. Besides being so disgusting I thought I might vomit, there was no toilet paper to speak of. If you gotta go, don't go here!
A very good place, what I like is that you can spend hours talking and not running.
Lots of food for your money but the place should be fixed up.
I always want to like Norms but the food is usually underwhelming. I suspect you might do better sticking with breakfast. That said I ordered the fried chicken breast which might have been good but it was covered in a pound of not very good gravy. I do not recommend it. The service was fast and the employees are friendly.
We were eating on the patio area we just received our meals I was facing the door to the restaurant it was open and a rat was running around inside they were trying to keep him in the restaurant but he managed to get outside and the women were sitting there were screaming and running towards the parking lot . This happened approx 8 am one of workers stepped one rat he was still moving and then another worker came with a broom he hit it a couple of times he killed it then picked it up with towel and took it back into the restaurant. We didn't want to eat anymore we had full plates of food still. We talked to the manager he insisted they it never was inside but it was they were trying to continue it to the inside. The manager was disrespectful he was like fine don't pay I'll remember your faces you can't eat here and we stayed we will not just because he acted like we were trying to skip paying which we lost our appetite and had full steak and full stack of pancakes. I wish I would have took a pic of the rat under his foot but I was so startled I couldn't get the camera to work.
Great services wait time can suck but worth the wait!!!
There is a waitress there today this afternoon Named Nichol I guess she might be new. But her attitude seemed as if she thought she is better than everyone else. She did not come to check on us not one time She got a $1.00 tip that was generous I could not be as evil to her as she was. I don't know why she had that Make America great again attitude like she thought she was better than the Latin servers/cooks. I am not Latino but she had that attitude as if "I am too good for here".
The breakfast menu is awsome. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is good.

Norms is usually my go to but I like my steak well done. It was bloody and so was my husband's hamburger. Wasn't very satisfied this time
I don't hate it but the last time we were there I had to wait 50 minutes to be served first they served other people who had just arrived
Not a good norms to go to, food came fast but wasn t good. waiter didn t have any manners. wasnt happy with anything Years ago i ve came and the service was good but this time it wasn t good at all.
If i could rate any lower than this I would. I would rate negative stars as well!! This place literally smelled horrible with sticky menus and tables!! This was complete and utter nonsense!!! And the food is worse than fast food! I will cross Norms of my go to forever!
Our waiter was very friendly and had a positive attitude. The only reason I'm giving 4 starts instead of one is because my burger bread was a bit burned. However, the burger was still really good and the staff was nice. Also, the only problem with the food was my burnt bread, everyone else had no problem. I should also note, it was just a small piece of bread that was burned.
Food is the best quality waitress perfect to bad they dont train there cashier people there is a chinise lady whit pink lips today none professionally totally rude I will never come back to this location I will go to another location in the future but never to this location in Sherman way and Woodman

Presentation is beautiful and service was awesome. The food part was the most important and came cold. Make sure you advise your server to please bring hot food.

Norm's has been has been close to two different apartments and my house for 25 years. Now that I moved away I come back to Van Nuys to visit friends at the only place that knows what meal we each want, Norms.
Good food decently priced. That's all I can say about it. It's a very popular place too :-)

A waitress named Mimi treated us very rude, it bothered her only to ask her again, very heavy.

Hour for a bake potato because they ran out the salad and soup was nt up to stander manger did not do nothing to helf us out that why they got 3 stars ....
Horrible. I told the waitress I was vegetarian and she gave me soup with chicken in it when I specifically said vegetarian soup. I also asked for a salad and she didn't even ask which one I wanted and left came right back with lettuce and ranchon it. Way too much ranch to even enjoy the iceberg lettuce... Not going back there again... It was in the middle of the night and the employees seemed like they were on drugs or something I'm not even going to lie.
The food is great the prices are great it's a shame it's always crowded
The waiter was great and saved the night! The Cooks and Food Sucked! Ever since they changed management they haven't been able to keep their Cooks, waiters or waitresses. The food has gone down and it's only getting worse not better. We use to love this place & it's the closest one to my house. I might have to go a little further out of my way or go to other places because I don't want to go to the Van Nuys location anymore.
It's okay. The service was great, but the food was meh.
Wrongly accused of spitting on the floor from a old customer, the manager could have looked on the dirty floor and seen it was butter and not human fluids
We like Norms, for their dishes at breakfast, very good.
I just want to suggest, that after one was registered, on the waiting list, give a number, and people are called, by number, BUT NEED A NEW SOUND EQUIPMENT, AND MICROPHONE; because nothing is understood! Thank you. Mary.
Super busy place but the customer service is wonderful. The food was burnt on my most recent visit.
Kinda of loud but everything is delish. Love the gumbo.
