Friendly enough staff and a good range of fresh food
This is a Clontarf institution, a supermarket in an affluent area. Don't expect anything to be cheap but it's all excellent stuff. Fantastic meat and cheese selection and a great place to get ingredients you can't find in Tesco. Fancy off license also. Beware this place has some odd opening hours if you are used to expecting the Spar to be open at 10pm
One of the last remaining independent supermarkets in Dublin. On the plus side, it's very clean, staff is friendly and helpful and the quality is generally very good, especially as regards fresh meat, fruit and vegetables and items from their large deli counter. It's broadly in the same price range as SuperValu (i.e. pricey even by Irish standards) though it has the edge over SuperValu as regards quality, hygiene and friendliness.
Poor . Overpriced . In the middle of a rebuild . Basically a kip. Go to lidle and buy drink with the huge savings.
Love the supermarket, honestly I find it very expensive, fruit and veg totally over priced!
Tasty cafenice breakfast slightly more expensive than others
Had lovely experience at nolans supermarket as per usual, staff very helpful and nice and friendly too.
Great place for things, and stuff. Especially nice good stuff
Handy local supermarket with friendly staff. Sunday opening hours would make it better.
Very expensive to shop here which really isn't on in this day and age compared to other competitors but the deli and meat counters are fantastic.
Recently moved to Clontarf, have shopped here 4-5 times. Overall I like this store, but the other day I was overcharged because one of the items I bought should have been on offer but it came up as a full price, went to the express checkout and got the money back in cash; only to find out this coin wasn't Euro when I tried to use it in a different shop yesterday. So my husband and I was at Nolan's today and he talked to a young staff member at the express checkout. She understood the situation and asked another staff member to confirm; but then this staff member completely misunderstood and thought I was asking if I could pay with the foreign coin; I just couldn't comprehend how she misunderstood it so badly; just because I'm an obvious non Irish person (I'm from Japan), doesn't mean I'm that clueless. Why would anyone think foreign currencies (cash) are accepted in a supermarket?! I'm pretty sure the outcome would've been different if my husband (from the UK) was there by himself.
High quality groceries from a family run business. Some items are very low priced too.
Local supermarket friendly staff well stocked with fresh produce.
Owned by a belligerent thug - saw him being extremely aggressive to a lady who politely offered him a suggestion to reduce congestion in his store . It was appalling I ll never go near the place again . The guy is just a thuggish IMP I feel for his staff .
Always shop in Nolans Butcher and Veg dept very good
Wide choice of great food, vegetables, fruit and meat
An old style family run grocers in clontarf village. Also stocks some specialised foods that can usually only be bought in health food shops. Has a fine fruit and veg section and an impressive deli/bakery section. The also run their own cafe next-door.
Nolans will always have whatever other supermarkets have run out of, or have temporarily stopped supplying.
Hope when new premises are developed they will include a wine bar. On a summer's day one gets a bit tired of endless cups of coffee. Very well run establishment.
Nolan's is my favourite family grocery in town. Not just because of the great service, or because everyone there is really helpful in case you need them. The mainly reason is for the quality of the products inside. Meat, fish, fruits vegetables are extremely good there, additionally there are a good quality Italian products, that few other markets have in Dublin. It's a bit more expensive than the average, but for the quality you'll find there is totally worth it.
Good choice of fresh food..the cold meat is nice but very expensive
Local coffee shop good for lunch snacks or breakfast. Not wheelchair friendly
Great store! Great selection of food. Butcher shop with a broad selection of fresh meat. Artisan food. Excellent customer service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food can be expensive. Upmarket area.
Massive selection of products. Expensive but good quality. Fruit and veg selection is really good.
Gem of a supermarket. Great to see all the eco products and health foods.
Excellent selections, informed and friendly staff, very high quality items. However it is not cheap.
Nolan's has a great selection of groceries and fantastic fruit, veg and meat. There's only one problem.....the prices are daylight robbery. Thread warily dear shopper.
Amazing staff always smile & helpful. Loads of choices , I found the special food and spice in here . This is the best grocery shop in Dublin.
Nolans is at the moment a medium sized local supermarket they are currently getting refurbished but are still open. They carry a wide variety of unusual/speciality stock items. The bakery and deli counter are good but the butchers and vegetable section have a high level of freshness and quality. They also have a good range of vegitarian and vegan products. Very friendly staff. They also have an off licence coffee shop and hardware shop on site. Well worth a visit.
Good supermarket. Staff are great as they are well taken care of. Nolans is a little more expensive sometimes but you get what you pay for and supporting local business is always worth a little premium.
Nolan's is an institution in clontarf. If you're new to the area just go there. A throw back to time when we had local shops , not supermarket chains
A great local supermarket, very friendly and helpful
Different shop. Nice local feel, nice friendly usually helpful staff. Fruit and veg is always really fresh. Really wide selection of foods and products. Checkout here is usually quick and fast and pleasant. Its one of the main things I like about the shop. Im not stuck in a que for years like nearly every other shop near it.
Good Supermarket prices slightly higher than others but good quality very busy at weekends
Great store, quality food, excellent friendly staff
Hit and miss, some staff are quite rude. Food is okay.
Lovely old family owned shop. Great range of high quality stock.
Great selection of foods, pricier than a discount though
It's great to be able to shop for loose, plastic free, eco friendly products. I go out of my way to shop at nolans. Great supermarket.
I don't love the new layout. I would like to hit the Meat/ Fruit a& Veg section first.
Family run supermarket. Good quality food although can be a bit pricey. The supermarket of my childhood - many good memories of being pushed in the trolley through the aisles.
Love this place as you can always find some unique items!
I love this supermarket, its got great produce , both in quality and choice of product. Parking can be a problem as its an area with roads inadequate to the volume of traffic.
Expensive but has a large range of products that are not available elsewhere
NOLANS is a great supermarket and they are doing a great extension shortly
Great location & quality at it's best but quite expensive.
It's going through renovation at moments so hopefully it will improve
