This is a Clontarf institution, a supermarket in an affluent area. Don't expect anything to be cheap but it's all excellent stuff. Fantastic meat and cheese selection and a great place to get ingredients you can't find in Tesco. Fancy off license also. Beware this place has some odd opening hours if you are used to expecting the Spar to be open at 10pm

One of the last remaining independent supermarkets in Dublin. On the plus side, it's very clean, staff is friendly and helpful and the quality is generally very good, especially as regards fresh meat, fruit and vegetables and items from their large deli counter. It's broadly in the same price range as SuperValu (i.e. pricey even by Irish standards) though it has the edge over SuperValu as regards quality, hygiene and friendliness.

Recently moved to Clontarf, have shopped here 4-5 times. Overall I like this store, but the other day I was overcharged because one of the items I bought should have been on offer but it came up as a full price, went to the express checkout and got the money back in cash; only to find out this coin wasn't Euro when I tried to use it in a different shop yesterday. So my husband and I was at Nolan's today and he talked to a young staff member at the express checkout. She understood the situation and asked another staff member to confirm; but then this staff member completely misunderstood and thought I was asking if I could pay with the foreign coin; I just couldn't comprehend how she misunderstood it so badly; just because I'm an obvious non Irish person (I'm from Japan), doesn't mean I'm that clueless. Why would anyone think foreign currencies (cash) are accepted in a supermarket?! I'm pretty sure the outcome would've been different if my husband (from the UK) was there by himself.

An old style family run grocers in clontarf village. Also stocks some specialised foods that can usually only be bought in health food shops. Has a fine fruit and veg section and an impressive deli/bakery section. The also run their own cafe next-door.

Nolan's is my favourite family grocery in town. Not just because of the great service, or because everyone there is really helpful in case you need them. The mainly reason is for the quality of the products inside. Meat, fish, fruits vegetables are extremely good there, additionally there are a good quality Italian products, that few other markets have in Dublin. It's a bit more expensive than the average, but for the quality you'll find there is totally worth it.

Nolans is at the moment a medium sized local supermarket they are currently getting refurbished but are still open. They carry a wide variety of unusual/speciality stock items. The bakery and deli counter are good but the butchers and vegetable section have a high level of freshness and quality. They also have a good range of vegitarian and vegan products. Very friendly staff. They also have an off licence coffee shop and hardware shop on site. Well worth a visit.

Good supermarket. Staff are great as they are well taken care of. Nolans is a little more expensive sometimes but you get what you pay for and supporting local business is always worth a little premium.

It's great to be able to shop for loose, plastic free, eco friendly products. I go out of my way to shop at nolans. Great supermarket.

I don't love the new layout. I would like to hit the Meat/ Fruit a& Veg section first.
