My NJM rep , Deana, helped me get new insurance and go over all of my existing policies. Professional, easy to understand, and so helpful.
When you talk to someone who actually is good at their job and happy to do their job, I feel obligated to a write a good review. Thank you Deana.

Tomorrow is my first day with NJM after spending considerable time researching and speaking to carriers and independent agents. I was looking for a highly rated company through a variety of resources and reviewing history, competitiveness, financial worthiness, customer service, options and discounts. I spoke to NJM three times and each rep was knowledgeable and friendly. I prepaid for a year for auto, homeowners, and an umbrella. I was with my prior carrier, very well known, for nearly 40 years and yet they ultimately failed me. I'm satisfied with my decision to make this switch and excited to start with NJM!

My family had NJM for more than 10 years. Never a problem.

One day an uninsured driver t-boned them (ran a red light) and hit our car.

We were offered less than a thousand for a car that had a market value of about 7-10k at the time.

My Dad had to fight over the phone, back and forth to get more for our car. We ended up with 1800 I believe. In order for us to buy the same car used, we had to pay a few thousand Extra out of pocket to replace our car.

Watch out if you get hit. They'll barely cover a vehicle replacement.

NJM used to have excellent roadside assistance. Not anymore. They switched to a cheaper alternative; a service vendor called Quest Towing Services (of St. Johns, MI) which provides an automated service and live reps (if you can figure out how to reach them). Both options don't work well. The automated service kept failing. If you opt to provide your location via GPS, they send you a text with a link that finds your exact location, however the call was terminated a moment after my location was found. I called back to go through the steps again and it ended the call again. It's not supposed to end the call. The automated system said to stay on the line and I held up my end of it. Fast forward to finally reaching a live rep which took some doing. This was one of the few absolute worst calls in my life. It ranks up there with Comcast's poor contractor service. The whole purpose of the call is to arrange for roadside assistance because I'm stranded with a car that won't start and a I'm a good distance from home. No exaggeration, the rep took over an HOUR to collect my info to then finally start researching tow companies only to tell me none were open. Seriously? It wasn't that late in the day. And towing is typically a 24 hour service. Then I got disconnected from the call and she called back 20 minutes later to again tell me that no trucks were available. Also throughout the entire call, there was this strange delay of 5 seconds where I would hear what I just finished saying. I never did get that tow from Quest. My friend offered to let me use their AAA service which worked out very normally. The next morning the same Quest rep called me. You might think, oh that's nice of her to check up on me... well I ignored the call because I was busy at the moment (and I wasn't in the mood to talk to this poor excuse for a rep), then she proceeded to call me back 10 more times IN A ROW. That's psychotic!! One or two calls plus a voicemail, that's normal. 11 plus voicemail, not normal. Needless to say, I've signed up with a different roadside service provider. Oh how you changed NJM!

I always heard amazing things about NJM but it was only open to certain people. We ll come to find out they opened it to to everyone. They gave me a quote for my new car $1,000 a year higher then GEICO, All State and progressive. Want a joke the agent could not give me a direct answer as to why. If you have them do yourself a favor and get quotes from other companies.

I am absolutely disgusted with this company and the way they have handled my claim for my STOLEN vehicle. The police advised me to go through my car insurance to see how they can help, and not only did it take OVER A MONTH for the claims adjuster to even finally contact me, once Sheila Tyler finally got back to me, she was rude and curt and I never heard back from any of the other supervisors I was told to get into contact with. They are refusing to help me with any rental car costs or helping with any further actions even though I pay for the highest level of full coverage they offer for personal vehicles.

NJM has great insurance rates! My renters insurance is the cheapest around AND covers more than my health care carrier!! I gave them 4 stars because I had car insurance with them last year before the pandemic, I applied again for insurance and was denied because I didn t have car insurance for 6 months prior to the app. What strikes me as odd, is that, I didn t have insurance before I bought my last car and if I don t have a car why would I pay extra for car insurance? It makes absolutely no sense to me! Other than that everyone that I ve had to talk to was always pleasant and went above and beyond to insure good service! For that I thank you!!!
