Resort is nice and spread out but the villas are badly maintained and uber expensive. But planning for rainy season and lots of leaks. Every day ran out of hot water.
There are far better places in the Maldives.

WOW, WOW, WOW, THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW GREAT THIS RESORT IS

Let me start off by saying that I have traveled to many 5 star hotels around the world. Niyama Maldives is the by far the best resort that I have ever stayed at. I booked my trip with Linara Travel due to recommendations from other tripadvisor reviews. By luck, I went on Linara Travel's website and saw that they were having special promotion with Niyama Maldives. I spoke with Justin from Linara Travel and I asked him about this hotel. He said that the service was better than any Four Seasons Hotel he had ever been to, which is saying a lot. I took his recommendation and booked the hotel.

I booked a Deluxe Overwater Villa with a Private Pool and Jacuzzi. I saw that the hotel had 2 rooms of the the Deluxe Overwater Villa category on the crescent side, which definitely has the best beach on the entire island. I was only interested in staying in one particular room out of those 2 rooms. I forwarded my request to the travel agency. They couldn't guarantee the exact room, but will try their best. I emailed both the travel agent and the hotel at least 3 times about my desired room. After a 3rd time, the travel agent told me that no hotel in the Maldives will guarantee a specific room for me and that my request was unrealistic. Guess what happened? Niyama Maldives guaranteed the exact room that I requested for the entire duration of my stay. This was the first time that any hotel in the world has ever granted my request for a specific room. This was just the beginning of the level of service that this hotel provides.

SERVICE: As soon as I get off the seaplane, the manager of the hotel greets you by the seaplane dock along with your butler. I have never had the manager of the hotel greet us by the entrance or the dock of the hotel. Then, I was introduced to our butler, Hashim, who was incredibly friendly from the start. He took us on a tour around the entire island on his buggie and dropped us off to have breakfast at the restaurant. I proceeded to specify my omelette order at the egg station and as I proceeded to wait for my omelette, the cook tells me to take a seat and that he will bring it to my table. I am used to waiting on long lines to wait for my omelette to be finished, but the chef told me to sit at my table and that he would bring it to me. Now that is service. As soon as were done with our breakfast, the waiter asks us if we would like our butler to pick us up and drop us off back to our room. I was amazed again at this level of attentive service. We decided to just walk back to our room to get some exercise.

My wife had an issue with all of the potholes from the hotel lobby to our room, which was about half a mile away. Whenever we would ride our bikes, the small potholes would annoy her. Guess what the hotel did? The next day, they filled each and every pothole with sand on that half mile stretch of road so that the roads would be smooth. WOW, WOW WOW.

Our butler, Hashim would call us at least once or twice a day to check up on us, asking if we needed reservations to any restaurants or to book any excursions. He was always a phone call away to please us in any way possible. There were times when we would have dinner and as soon as we were done, Hashim would be waiting for us to take us back to the room. He was telling us that our wristband key chains have a GPS tracker inside them. I am not sure if he was joking or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, since he was always there to pick us up.

One imagines a true paradise. And indeed it is.

One imagines a true paradise. And indeed it is.
We chose Niyama without giving it much thought when we saw that it was the only one that really suited our needs.
It is made up of two islands, called Play and Chill, which are joined by a little bridge.
We chose a village with a private pool and we got one on Play Island. The family villa would have been better for us, because with the two extra beds it was just right, since we traveled with a 7-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, but its cost is almost double the normal one and in the end we decided that it would not change the experience to have more interior space. Wonderful open air bathroom in the villa. The best shower of my life. Luxury. And it is that the villas with their bathrooms have a top interior design.
One of the reasons for choosing Niyama was their amazing Explorers Kids Club. The largest in all of Asia they say. I believe it. The only one adapted to children from one year of age. My little ones wanted to go all the time. Super nice girls. Empathic. Careful. Of different nationalities. Thank you very much Olivia, Kelsy and ... (I don't remember your name) for taking care of them so much and loving them more. The activities very well thought out. Super fun. They were all going to eat at the Blu. For children, buffets are included, 24 hours a day. While we could enjoy solo walks or the spa.
For me, being on Play Island is better. Of course it depends on what you want, but you are closer to everything and still calm. We were close to the main Blue restaurant and would repeat location.
All excellent staff. Our thakuru Wisham was the perfect host. The idea was: you decide that I will get it for you. Always alert. The children adored him. He conquered us all.
We ate at both buffets (Blu and Epicure, one on each island) and at all restaurants. All great. I wouldn't know which one to choose. Each one with its particularity. Nest, with the tables on top of the trees or its tepanyaki at the bottom. Great. In Subsix (underwater restaurant) we were luxurious. The kids loved it and so did we. My husband, who is more about meat, assures that Tribal (African restaurant) ate one of the best pieces of meat of his life. And all with an exquisite atmosphere. How cute. On the night of the full moon they organized a skewer in Surfshak. Great.
One night we ordered a dinner from Wisham on the beach. It was a success. We really enjoyed the atmosphere they prepared for us. A tipi, some sofas, lights, a cook and a waiter, the sea, the sand and the stars. The food of 10. Wow. If I have had a low moment afterwards, thinking about that night reminds me of how lucky I was to live it and I cheer up the second.
As a farewell they prepared a cocktail for us in the afternoon at the beach "xiringuito" next to the Epicure. They were passing by with snacks and drinks. Presenting themselves responsible for the hotel and chatting with other guests. Very cool. Ah! and with the girls of the Explorers as support for the little ones.
It may appear, from what I have written, that it is full of children and that it is not for couples who want peace of mind. But that goes. They get what you want. How they do it is their secret.
I found the overwater suites area idyllic. Peace of mind throughout the complex is assured.
Walking with the bikes (the children in the seats) up and down was an experience. You had the feeling of being alone on the island, a deserted beach, but then you found the perfect atmosphere in the restaurants.
The last day arrived. We boarded the seaplane. Wonderful views etched into the retina.
In short, I don't think I could have chosen another place to be better in Maldives.
The summary: it is a 10. I want to go back and I want to go back to the same hotel.

Most beautifull place i ever seen... white sand, turquoise water, fishes everywhere. Lots of commodities & services. Be ready to spend a lot... really. Average per day 300 dollars ++ .
Best things: Suites 5***** beautifull ( recommend suites 143 to 147 and the 30 to 39 has the best sand) the paths in the island are mesmerizing better than the pictures. bicicle is a must. Each suite has his own takuru we have hasir the best( vip buttler) takes care of everything.
the "nest" beautiful, blue (restaurant all floor sand), but i prefer epicure. Kids friendly the best kids club ever, lots of activities for all ages. Best thing wake up and have the beach at doorsteps.

We have had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at Niyama together with our two little boys. The kids club and their staff are doing a phenomenal job! The Restaurants have all very tasty food and chef Kemraj for private BBQ dinner at the beach can create you a very unique tasting experience. Our takhuru made us feel very special and welcome, with driving service for our kids wherever needed and the stunning views of our Villa when waking up makes us smile every day.

Two very beautiful islands, the only flaw is the lack of coral reef reachable by swimming from the island. Diving center however very well organized and unforgettable dives. Sixth time in the Maldives, one of the highest level resorts. Very varied and particular the choice of restaurants, excellent cuisine in particularly suggestive locations. For the first time we found live music in the evening with really good jazz musicians. Nice sunset spot with an informal aperitif at the surfers bar. Some attempts at evening entertainment that are difficult to find in the Maldives. Fantastic vacation. impeccable service.

A luxury resort with great fun! We have a perfect wedding anniversary and our kids really have fun in Kids club and activities. Foods are diverse and tasty. Niyama is definitely the family's first choice of Maldives resorts. Thanks to our Thakuru Ting. He is very gentle and helps us a lot. Thanks to our agent because of their highly recommendation of Niyama Private Islands.

A truly amazing experience. From the moment we landed in Male International Airport we were greeted by Niyama staff that took care of our luggage then escorted us to the seaplane lounge to await our flight to the resort. We were greeted by our Thakuru (butler - Laith) upon our arrival at the resort and taken to our cabin (no check-in process needed). The restaurant selection was fantastic, the water activities were amazing and very well planned out. The instructors at the Float center (for water activities) were the best I've ever encountered. I had beginner private surfing lessons with Ricardo and a refresher Scuba course with Marcell who also taught my daughters how to snorkel, and personally escorted them and myself during our snorkeling trips. The scuba diving instructors and guides (Emmeline and Dirk) were very knowledgeable about the diving spots, gave us great briefings before each dive and pointed out all the sights underwater (white tipped sharks, sting rays, turtles, and so many different varieties of fish). The cabin itself (family beach suite with private pool overlooking the beach) was spacious, contemporary and very comfortable. Overall, for our first trip to the Maldives it went better than I expected honestly and it was truly an extraordinary experience that we hope to be able to revisit again. Highly recommended for both families with young children as well as couples looking for that magical Maldives experience.

Very beautiful hotel in this incredible environment. Nothing makes you feel unconfortable. The staff seems to read your mind. They don't even let you ask for something, as they already serving you with all your needs. A visit at the under6 (underwater restaurant) is at least mandatory. Ask for a sunset beer there.
