Niles Public Library: Your Gateway to Knowledge and Learning
Welcome to the Niles-Maine District Library, your one-stop destination for all your reading and learning needs. We are a community-focused library that strives to provide our patrons with the best possible resources and services. Our mission is to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and cultural enrichment through access to information, technology, and programming.
Our library has been serving the Niles community since 1962. Over the years, we have grown in size and scope, but our commitment to providing excellent service remains unchanged. We offer a wide range of materials including books (both print and digital), magazines, newspapers, DVDs/Blu-rays, audiobooks (CDs or digital downloads), music CDs (popular or classical), video games (for various platforms), puzzles/games/toys for children's play area.
We also have an extensive collection of online resources that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. These include databases for research on various topics such as health & wellness; business & finance; genealogy & history; literature & language arts; science & technology; social sciences etc., e-books/e-audiobooks/e-magazines via Overdrive/Libby/Hoopla/RBdigital platforms.
In addition to our vast collection of materials/resources/services available at no cost with a valid library card from any Illinois public library system member libraries or non-resident fee cardholders ($200/year per household), we also offer many programs/events throughout the year for all ages/interests/backgrounds:

- STEM Programs/Coding Clubs/Lego Robotics Workshops/Game Nights/Gaming Tournaments
