Columbia's independent film theater is a true gem. A few years ago The Nick moved into its current, beautifully renovated space, which includes includes two theatres. Serves beer/wine. Constantly providing educational opportunities for young and old alike.

Great non-profit theater in Columbia. They always have a great selection of films each week ranging from dramas to interesting documentaries. Concession prices are very reasonable and they usually have a nice selection of craft beers on tap. It's a fun date night to have a nice dinner on Main and just walk over to the Nick.
This is Columbia's independent theater as opposed to AMC or Regal. It will run some of the lesser-known but quality films and also sometimes nostalgia reels. The people that run it seem nice and friendly, so that's a plus. It makes it more enjoyable if the people working there like it too. You can drink a beer (or not - I hate beer so I check the 'not' box), have some popcorn, and chill. It's a fun place to go.
A Columbia treasure. Always have a great selection of movies, and I appreciate that the popcorn is reasonably priced and comes in portions I'll actually finish.
This is a beautiful old movie theater that has been restored. It has a large screen very comfortable seating. It's more like sitting in the balcony then in a regular theater that you see today.
From beginning to end, this theater was great! An employee personally came into the theater, announced the movie showing, exit rows and snack bar. It was a very refreshing visit!
Great place for Indie movies, some of the best movie popcorn I've had. No bad seats and you get tickets online with no convenience fees. Will definitely be visiting again.
This local non profit theater always makes anyone feel welcome, offers reasonable prices and shows movies that don't always make it to the big box theaters. Definitely a cornerstone of the artistic culture of Columbia.
Don't go see a movie anywhere else. This place has the best selection of movies with very clean small theaters. It's the prime of local movie theaters. Keep it local yo
Our showing was full of bright, courteous ppl; good concessions; a great film we could only have seen in an art house. The theater and restrooms were clean. Friendly, professional staff.
We love the Nickelodeon. There is a great local feel that you don't get in other places, and they do a great job of screening the film's so you don't walk away disappointed.
Such a great experience. Not even remotely pretentious if you're scared of "hipsters." Awesome theater and a terrific staff. We will absolutely be back!
A good place to catch the good production that may not be the most box office friendly. The staff greets the guests before the start of the film, just as it should be done!
Cordial employees, tasty popcorn, very clean and well kept. It would be better if the staff gave the no talking no cell phone rule after ALL patrons are seated. It was still an outstanding excursion for my first time visiting.
Super friendly, helpful, diverse staff. Clean and niche. They've never shown a movie I wouldn't want to see! Best place to see independent films in Columbia. I also love that they serve local beer.
I've always loved the Nick, but they've really outdone themselves with the new location on Main Street. Great movies, delicious concessions (that you can feel good about afterwards), craft beer on tap (Westbrook...mmm), wine as well. Want to bring your own food instead? Maybe some candy from Mast General, or a pizza from Village Idiot? They're totally cool with that too.
And did I mention the friendly and fantastic viewing experience? Or the super comfortable seats? If you're looking for something to do for date night, or just want to escape for a couple hours at a movie theater that feels less like a mall, and well, more like a movie theater, you can't beat the Nick. It really is a Cola gem.
Eclectic movie offerings not found elsewhere in Columbia. Reasonable concession prices. Very friendly staff. I also love the personal movie notes offered by a staff member before the movie.
Greatest movie theater in Columbia. Two screens. Fantastic popcorn. Exceptional movies. Sponsors a movie festival every year. Concessions offers special craft beers and a variety of wines. Short films, animation films and many other theme based night's and series are offered, like the Jewish film week, horror genre late night, erc.
Excellent popped corn with a wide variety of seasoning salts, essential of course since a movie without a popcorn is like a breast without a nipple. Bravo as well for the Nick's new petting zoo, especially the koala bear with the Brando tattoo, and the ticket taker in the Lady Gaga mask cracked me up. Only criticism: ye who pop in live to address the audience before the trailers: it's all about the movie NOT ABOUT YOU, get in and get out AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
By far the best independent theater East of the Mississippi. Clean facility, friendly staff, and great selection of films keep me occupied until Indie Grits rolls around each year.
Such a great.local movie theater! I'm so thankful Columbia has the Nick to show independent films and documentaries the love and attention they deserve. Great place for a date night or even just a night to yourself. The staff are super friendly, the premises are clean, the movies are great, and the concession options are above and beyond. Overall a treasure for downtown Columbia!
Great movies, many hidden gems & not promoted in Major Screens. Always check this schedule. & Cowboys steakhouse is just accross the way. . Gr8t date destination
Great facility to watch a movie. Both theaters are intimate with good seating, audio, etc. Concessions have the expected items (great popcorn with several do-it-yourself toppings) as well as beer and wine. The best part is you can see films here that aren't going to play elsewhere oftentimes.
The best movie theatre in Columbia. The concession are cheaper than big chains. The popcorn is great. They also have beer and wine if you are into having a drink during a movie. This is place to come if you want to see an special screening of an old movie or the latest indie film.
When we want to feel sophisticated, we head to the Nick, get a craft on draft, and watch whatever is on. My favorite movies are ones where I have the LEAST expectations beforehand.
