I wish I could give this place 11 stars. The best service I've ever experienced. Food was amazing and the setting incredible.
Absolutely delicious fresh sourced food! Impeccable service! Couldnt be happier!
Child was tired, Nick's Fishmarket staff made a crib out of 2 chairs. Allowing adults to enjoy our 5 star dinner experience. Appetizers were excellent- salmon with caviar, calamari, & pot stickers. The various items ordered- rack of lamb, new york steak, or the lobster mac n cheese exceeded our expectations. Thank you Beau and staff.
I took my mother here for her birthday dinner. I cant express the happiness on her face with how wonderful our experience was tonight! The drinks were amazing! The food was wonderful and full of flavor! Chris (our server) and his team were so attentive she was very impressed i will definitely be bringing more family and friends!
Amazing digger scallops with pork adobo, risotto, baby bok choy for me, catch of the day for her
Food and atmosphere were great. Service was bad, really bad. There were a lot of workers running around but not actually helping us. We waited a long time after we sat down for menus. Our waiter was young and I don t think he really knew what he was doing. For the price we paid I d expect better service. Food however was amazing. I didn t even get pics of the meals because it looked so good I forgot to take a photo.
Went for a honeymoon dinner. When we made the reservation they had asked if we were celebrating anything. We told them it was our honeymoon. They did not do anything special. Servers appeared to be in a rush to close for the evening. Our reservation was for 8:30pm. Felt pressured. Maybe if we ate at 6pm we would have had a better experience. Clam chowder soup was cold and our salad seemed to be made well in advanced. Food is not worth the price. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Atmosphere is nice.
Aloha,
This place is remarkable! The outdoor seating, the presentation of the entree's, and of course, the flavors was exceptional. The staff we're friendly and helpful.
Mahalo
We had a delicious dinner at Nick's Fishmarket this evening. We enjoyed the Beet Salad, Mahi-mahi and Lobster. Our sever Cyrus was excellent, very knowledgable and a good sense of humor. Make your reservations early as they tend to book up quickly and ask for an outdoor table.
Great ambiance, attentive wait staff, seated immediately, food was great. Should drop one star for price if that's important to you- prices are on the higher side even for Maui. We got the crab cake appetizer, rack of lamb and ahi entrees. Crab cakes had a great flavor, soft, lots of crab. Served on a tomato paste type sauce. Needed more relish sauce on side, didn't think the tomato based sauce complimented the dish that well. My only complaint is you only get 2.
Rack of lamb was impressive. I often order this dish when I go out to eat- by far the most quantity of lamb I've ever been served. Sauces and sides were spot on. My husband got the Ahi. Fish was cooked perfectly. Nice portion, very tender- melts in your mouth. The crispy veggies were good. The flavoring could have tweaked just a bit but otherwise a very good dish as well. We were too full for dessert but I wanted to try the strawberry panzini.
Opah with curry, crab slaw best fish dish ever. Mahi great also.
It's been probably 15 years since we first visited Nicks, and it is still a standard by which we measure other seafood restaurants. Great food, solid wine list, and fantastic service. If you are on Maui and looking for a great place to eat, go here. And after you eat, walk down to the beach and say hello to the local fishermen.
Update a year later:
We went for Happy Hour, made reservations at 5:30, only time available only to find out upon arrival that happy hour does not take reservations, only dinner. Happy Hour is first come, so it s iffy if you ll get a seat a the bar, very limited seating. We were lucky!
The food was good, wine was expensive, service was great if you could get the bar tenders attention, otherwise you ll probably wait a while.
All in all, a nice place for happy hour.
This would have been a 5 star if the server hadn t forgotten us and there wasn t so much time in between our courses.
Every thing started out great but it wasn t soon before the service became questionable. The food was excellent and the ambience was incredible.
We valet parked and tipped $5, well worth it.
High end on price, but a great experience if the servers don t forget about you.
Tiki torches in a romantic setting. You are in Hawaii. The fish is fresh and the preparations are bold, Ahi Au Poivre! Very complete wine list. Great Service.
The best food/service for our visit to Maui.
Nick's should not be missed on your trip to Maui! This is my husband and I's second trip to Maui, and I'm sad that we missed Nick's the first time we came. We made reservations during sunset and sat on their gorgeous patio and ate our meal. The Mahi Mahi was the best we have ever had! I am also a fan of margaritas and their Black and Blue Margarita was spectacular. Above all, our service was phenomenal. Truly the best service we've ever received from extremely personal and very kind waiters. Beau and Bill took care of us the entire evening and really made the entire experience enjoyable. They even gave us suggestions for local 'mom and pop' type shops to visit while we're here. I'd give more stars if I could!! We enjoyed every second!
Best all round dining experience we had on the island. Treated like royalty and the food was amazing. Right up there with mama's... Yet less expensive!
Incredible HUGE lobster tail that was like nothing I have ever tasted before. Lobster is my favorite and I didn't need butter or lemon. My husband said his New York steak was the best steak he has ever had. Service was impeccable. We didn't have room for dessert, but the strawberry volcano dessert looked really amazing!
Restaurant is on FAIRMONT KEA LANI and has a beautiful view! The wine cellar is very diverse and has for every pocket. I tried a bit of various dishes from the menu as we were in a large group and all very tasty and well served. The price varies widely but range from 29 to 65 dollars, individual dish. The service was very good, dishes came fast and drinks replenished all the time. We had a great experience at this restaurant.
This was an amazing experience. Probably my favorite place I've eAten on the island. Started with the crab cake appetizer which was phenomenal and the pomegranate martini was my favorite drink I had. Got the ahi entree and again it was exceptional, not the best ahi I had BUT it was definitely my second favorite. We also got a complimentary desert since we were on our honeymoon which was a lemon tart and again it didn't disappoint.
Extraordinary staff. The catch of the day is a must try and portions are just right.
One of the worst meals on the island !!!! Could have saved money and had a tuna fish sandwich and I hate tuna!!!!
Excellent service, pretty setting! Food was just ok not over the top. But fish serving size was really large! Excellent gluten free bread!! Fun strawberry desert they light on fire.
I had catch of the day and it was underwhelming, dry and lacking flavor. Service attentive, view of swimming pool nothing special. This is a hotel restaurant that is expensive and food is average.
Amazing service, amazing cocktails, amazing food. Dessert was just basically strawberries on fire, but I won t hold it against them.
One of the best restaurant experiences we've had. Fantastic service, reasonable prices for Maui and the food was excellent. The staff make it a point to know and use your name, and they're happy to share information when you ask questions. They brought us a fabulous dessert decorated for our anniversary. Friends recommended we visit this restaurant while in Maui and we're really glad we did!
Catch the sunset at Fairmont Maui at Nicks Fishmarket. The best ever bartender Jason is a master at special drinks. Don't miss out, it's lots of fun.
5/21/2016 - This is certainly NOT the Nick's it used to be. In the past the food was great and the service was truly exceptional. Not any more. The food was good, but certainly not great, and the service was almost non-existent. Considering the prices, (our bill for four people was almost $500), there are so many better choices to eat far better food and receive at least reasonably attentive service.
Service was truly exemplerary and the food was well beyond expectation
The food was pretty good. Probably not worth the price though.
The disappointing part was sitting next to the bar where a patron was telling several racist jokes, each joke being high fived be the bar tender. Maybe the bar tender was just out for a good tip from a drunk patron, but it seems a bit off for a high end hotel staff member to high five a racist joke.
It's pretty expensive for a mediocre dinner. The view at the Fairmont is amazing though.
Maybe check out Ko, a restaurant one floor down.
Business dinner and our first visit to this restaurant. Outstanding quality of food. A very nice atmosphere coupled with great service. What was really nice to see regardless of where you looked were people just enjoying the food and the commeradity. We will return to Maui in November and will make sure we revisit this great restaurant.
Staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and the drinks were on point. And, they had my favorite escargot.
Food was good but not great. My mahi mahi was quite tasty, but my wife's lobster was slightly overcooked and the sauce was on the heavy side. This said the food itself was good and comparable to any seafood restaurant on the mainland.
The service was rather inept though.
* Waiter spilled water twice. First time soaking the tablecloth, second time nearly soaking my pants. I understand that this happens, but the response was something of an "Oops, oh well!" It frankly was to the point where we thought that he was stoned.
* Team wait staff concept is poorly executed overall, and leads to really gauche service due to poor coordination.
Honestly for the price point, I'd suggest going elsewhere, but strictly speaking the restaurant is passable if you're okay with the service.
Our evening started with the Disney World house photographer asking to take our photo. Although he tried to lighten the mood, it s a tacky add-on at a supposedly nice restaurant.
Next we waited several minutes until our server appeared and then we ordered a bottle of wine. Several more minutes later someone else showed up and informed us they didn t have the bottle of wine we ordered and suggested an alternative nothing like what we originally ordered. He left and instead of helping or having a clue about the wine list suggested we review the wine list while he proceeded to take care of blue hairs and boomers at other tables next to us.
Several minutes later, no one showed back up, so we left and went back to our hotel (The Four Seasons) to eat and drink.
Nick s seems to be hit or miss; we were informed of this by many and this evening s experience confirmed.
Service, sunset view and food were one of the best of Maui!! Highly recommended
I had a dinner here and Google wouldn't let me go, asking for reviews.
It was in our hotel, so we were a bit leary. Very good food and service. Not cheap, but is anything in Hawaii?
Not what we were expecting
No ambiance and the food is just ok
I do not recommend
