The hospital has saved my life and the life of my little boy. Neonatal unit are amazing, filled with compassionate and talented nurses and midwives. We only came across one midwife in our stay that must have had a bad day through my 6 day stay.
I stayed in a separate room to other mothers while I got better as I was separated from my little one at neonatal which isn't far from the ward.
The housekeeping staff were very patient with me disappearing to neonatal too.

Amazing hospital. The maternity staff are wonderful and have treated my wife with the utmost care and respect following the loss of our twin boys. We now have a wee boy and are so thankful to everyone at FVRH.

Had to be admitted due to abdominal pain and whilst I did have a lengthy wait from initial call to NHS24 to being seen, 5 hours, everyone was fantastic. Had to go back over the next couple of weeks for tests, endoscope plus ultrasound AND echo sound. I found everyone to be extremely friendly, who took their time to put you at ease and explain what was going on and very professional.

Take a bow people, the unsung heroes.
(P.s no offence, but hope I don't see any of you soon )

I was in bay 8 in the emergency section yesterday morning. I cannot speak too highly of this excellent department. Nurses, physios, occupational therapists, porters and domestic staff. The doctor who saw me was ready to listen to me and explain things and answer my questions. I was sent home with an aid which works and makes life much easier.Thank you all SO much. Anne.

On the 12th of April 2016 two wonderful ladies help bring our beautiful little girl into this world.
We can't thank enough Mid-wife Jackie and Tasmin, also in housekeeping Rita for their professionalism and hospitality.

Everyone on the 7th&8th ward were very helpful, genuine and professional.
It feels more like a five star hotel than a hospital!!

Twice now I've had elderly relatives in the Geriatric Ward. The nurses are great. The doctors were exceptionally patient and helpful. The food is good and the ward is squeaky clean. Why do so many people moan about this hospital? I'm from Aberdeen and our facilities just do not compare with this hospital.

I have just returned from a holiday in Scotland and needed emergency treatment including inpatient care and a follow-up visit to this hospital. The treatment I received was amazing, fast, efficient and effective. The Doctors and Nursing staff were as amazing! So polite and helpful and very caring. I don't think I could have been better looked after anywhere. I am very grateful to AAU & Base 3 and A & E staff & Discharge Lounge Staff. Thank you for looking after me so well! (I am much better now...). One last comment, the hospital has free parking and good access. I really don't think anything can be improved!! I live in the South of England and we have to pay through the nose to park at our hospital, wait for long hours to be seen too. Well done NHS Scotland I don't think that people know just how lucky they are to have such great facilities and care.

They saved my wife's life. She was admitted coughing up clots of blood. The A&E staff quickly diagnosed a rare condition, and the treatment she recieved over her 7 week stay was exeptional. Yes, there was the occasional member of staff who needed an attitude adjustment, but most were superb, and then there were the few who went above & beyond their duty. On crap wages they bought items she needed, and wouldn't accept payment. This was the Cardiology ward... a credit to our NHS. You'll find all types of staff in any job, so please don't generalise about staff in your review. My wife is alive today thanks to FV Hospital.

Went in after suffering heart problem. Staff were all good and ward was for one person use and comfortable with good enough food. Later transferred too Edinburgh for op. Parking usually ok but can be busy at times

Insufficient signage is a major problem. Got told we had to use Purple overflow car park, but there is no directions to get into main building. Walked miles round the perimeter road, getting soaked in the process due to heavy rain, to get to main entrance to discover later there is a back entrance not signposted. It is crazy. Why are you not allowed in to the main building through either the Mental Health unit or the staff entrance when instructed to use the purple car park by on duty security staff. Very poor design.

I had to have a total hysterectomy done in June last year due to having a very large ovarian cyst.
From initial consultation to discharge and follow-up the whole treatment I received couldn't have been better.
On the day of my operation the staff were so caring and took into account all my concerns. The surgeon, Dr Paul Holmes, was excellent not only during the operation but also afterwards on the ward. The aneasthetist and the ward staff all went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and the nurses could have been more attentive. Overall it was a positive experience of a procedure I was dreading.

I had an operation recently in area 6 outpatients, It was a very traumatic experience for me as I am really anxious about medical issues, however ALL the staff involved were totally outstanding, I wish I could name them all but sorry I was not in a fit state to remember that day, thank you to you all for keeping me calm and treating me with dignity.

after a recent spell in ward 31 my mother has now got the CPE bug and has constant sickness . her health isnt the best and she needs to eat properly at regular intervals to keep her strength up , due to this bug she is unable to do so . we had no idea she had the bug and only found out when we asked why she had been moved to a single room . we were told the staff had passed out leaflets to family etc - this never happened .
people catch bugs at hospitals all the time but they way this was handles was pretty poor

This is regards to the Restaurant
A meal consistent of cafeteria standards, a nice size portion of mains but overpriced on the small portion of sides , poor staff attitudes and didn't really need to see staff throwing salad back into the serving tubs without gloves on, a bit dull decor

I have nothing but praise for this hospital after an accident in January I was treated with dignity and respect from all the staff even the cleaners, too many people leaving poor comments on here they seem to think they are better than most! "TRY DOING THERE JOB" Also found the WRVS shop hidden up th back of the hospital not allowed to advertise as it will impact Starbucks sales, boo hoo the WRVS sell more and it's cheaper

So another visit this time myself to cardiology. Very impressed with process and quality of care...start to finish. FVR ....beautifully clean and maintained; great signage; all staff with whom I came into contact....really helpful, friendly, caring, professional and efficient.

COVID procedures....very tight as one would expect.

plus stars! Special thanks to cardiology today for their help and input.

Family member needed to be admitted.

Just wanted to take a moment to commend the staff team in Forth Valley Royal Hospital....staff who clean and maintain the hospital; admin and reception staff; porters, nursing staff, doctors, consultants, ancillary staff, restaurant staff for the quality of care experienced over the last couple of days - caring, efficient, warm, responsive, helpful, patient-centred with a good pinch of sense of humour thrown in.

When we think of the pressure the NHS is under; delivering health and care services for everyone who walks through their doors and having to do that on a finite budget, then delivering the quality of care which was experienced by our family member -
a-maz-ing! Thank you.

I was in for an Angiography today in cardiology and feel I have to write a review to thank Julie, Rosie and all the staff for being so nice and supportive. They were so cheery and very helpful which makes such a difference when you are a bit nervous. The CT Scanner staff and the Consultant Mr Hargreaves were also lovely and made sure to explain everything that was going to happen which put my mind at rest.
We are all quick to complain but I want to thank them all for being so supportive and kind.

foreign doctor told my gran she had cancer but had very poor english and she didnt understand him
she asked if they thought she had cancer where the doctor responded "that what i just say"
he wouldnt even let someone come in the room with her to be told. We were waiting outside in the waiting room and no one was there to support her!!

If a young mother is dying - staff should at least discuss care with her next of kin. Instead, they withdrew all fluids, including sips of water for a very thirsty person in a very hot environment, and told relatives not to allow her to have a sip (but no more information) The Liverpool Pathway deserves to be scrapped, there is no humanity or dignity in dying in this hospital and it is a huge denial of basic human needs. And physicians should talk to people more.

Dissappointing. Poor communication with Patient. Food is a disaster waiting to happen.
Some good staff who appear to resent bank staff. Bank staff brought in from other areas not communicated with left to fend for themselves. Patients ignored. Discussing patient diagnosis with otherpeople in room. Poor nursing practice arrogant senior nursing staff.

Was admitted to ward a31 on the easter weekend with breathing problems.thought i had a flu virus.was in ward for 5 days and all the staff were brilliant.they have such a hard job to do.i was next door to a gentleman who kept pressing his buzzer constantly and as soon as the nurses left him he was buzzing within seconds of them leaving room.nurses must have patience of a saint.i have the upmost respect for them.

My mum passed away here in 2011 and I couldn't of asked for a nicer place for her to pass away. She was monitored 24hrs a day in ICU, we had to travel 500 miles to be there and they let us stay in the family rooms over two nights and fed us, let us shower etc lovely.

hi i have just had hip operation at forth valley hospital this is just to tell you about my experience, good care on admittance and right up to the operation and preparation before going to theatre was fine ,
operation went well and surgeon mr Richard Preece outstanding as this was my 5th hip operation so know what i am talking about ,now this is where it starts getting annoying ,
i was put into high dependency as there was no beds available on the wards only thing there is you are forgotten about if you are not in for emergency treatment first morning had to ask about 3 times to get a basin to wash myself as still had blood and everything else on my body after theatre and i was stinking eventually about 12 midday i got a basin (that was about 29 hours since my last wash )from a extremely abrupt nurse,as i was not in the orthopaedic ward when the physio arrived she never had half the equipment that was required because of where i was,
there for 2 days then moved to ward 23 b room 31 there for 2days then to ward 23 b bed 10 for 1 day then to day ward for 1 day all this moving about was not ideal as i missed physio visits which held me back , on the day i was getting out they had me waiting in a day care room for 12 hours (they say they were short of beds when i went in so this was a pure waste of a bed when some one else could have had it !!! )waiting to be discharged eventually i discharged my self as the papers where still not ready after asking numerous times for them all in all quite a frustrating time in this hospital nothing to do with most of the staff it is the system they are working under
the people that run the NHS are pretty poor house keepers they take the big bucks but do nothing to improve the system !!!

10/10 for the anesthetist he put me at ease and explained everything well. One nurse was amazing. One nurse was literally the spawn of satan and caused my condition to deteriorate. The doctor who saw me was horrible too and did not care. The toilet was very dirty and I was put on a ward with a verbally abusive patient who tormented me the entire night. I think she might have been better on the psychiatric ward as it was not normal or safe behaviour. My boyfriend was concerned that there were no security checks or anything. He didn't have to sign in and walked right into the ward without them even knowing who he was. the food was inedible and unhealthy, but I think this is standard for hospitals.

Brilliant nurses and consultants and doctors and student nurses aswell as house keepers and cleaners., I was looked after very well during my 3 long months there, by the nurses the house keepers and cleaners, who kept up my spirits and they put up with every patients mood and crabbiness. Even the stoma nurses are wonderful, by teaching me how to care and look after my stoma and any on going care for my stoma too.

The Doctor and staff who looked after my Dad in his final days and hours were excellent. Empathetic, professional and courteous throughout. The NHS is getting a bad rap these days but the staff are marvelous. Our politicians have abused their dedication to care for too long. They deserve better.

Facebook Page tells you that due to suspension of visiting the hospital is putting in place mobile phone, Ipad communication facilities for loved ones to communicate with patients and system for picking up washing etc. Impossible to find out how as unable to get hold of the Wards in question. care very good, but lack of privacy awful. It's not nice standing in the loo with nothing on changing a tampon with 2 nurses standing with hands on hips watching despite being asked to leave twice. You might need us was the response. I said I would pull the cord looped over my wrist. Then I was watched using the loo and when asked to leave (again) I was told it's a bodily function. OK it's MY bodily function and I'd like some privacy. We're here now they twittered. They l left when I headed for the shower - I still had nothing on and I SLAMMED the door shut behind them.

I ve been in and out of hospitals for over 25 year...

I ve been in and out of hospitals for over 25 years now due to one of my children having had quite a few serious health issues.

I see nothing has changed in regards to something that used to infuriate me and a lot of other mothers who stayed in hospital with their kids 24/7 and didn t get to go off shift in the mornings.
Could someone in authority please talk to the nurses that are on working nights and inform them that a decent nights sleep is important to a patient s wellbeing. Plus it s common courtesy too!

Loud talking, screeching and laughing out at the desk at all hours is so unbelievably thoughtless!! I found it was like that years ago even in a children s cancer ward and it was exactly the same when my oldest daughter was recently in forth valley having steroids before having her baby delivered early the following week.

She ended up discharging herself just so she could have a decent nights sleep before the baby came. I wonder how those same nurses would feel if we went round to their houses after their shift finished and started laughing, shouting and talking loudly while they were trying to get some sleep
For goodness sake show some compassion and consideration especially when it s people who might be in a lot of pain or discomfort etc and sleep may be their only bit of solace! Of course no-one expects a hospital ward to be completely silent at night but when it s nothing to do with dealing with patients and just sheer ignorance then it s not acceptable.

I have to add that there are some lovely nurses who wouldn t dream of acting like this but I m afraid too many of them still do!
So glad I ve finally got this off my chest after 25 years!! My rant is over.

Great hospital, but can't cope with the demand, still to long waiting times for appointments for treatment, and follow up check up appointments running months behind, which causes worry and stress, and the carparks can't accommodate the volume of vehicles so you end up driving round and round looking for a space, adding yet more to your stress levels, I often arrive an hour before my appointment but still can't find a space, so end up parking in a housing estate about fifteen minutes walk adding more stress.

shocking only rated as 1 as it wont go lower the nursing staff if thats what they are are more interested in facebook than patients the level of care is non existant dont ask for pain relief as it took 7 hours for somebody to turn up without any then i was then told "well if i forgot then i forgot " the place can only be described as a circus ran by clowns from the moment i arrived in the place i just knew it was going to be bad they got my name wrong, went to recovery after day surgery and was left to my own devices, they were to busy talking about there favorite cakes and new couches to be bothered about us beds were turned so they didnt have to come into the rooms, which blocked off the sinks so none of them washed there hands, there 2 hour checks only lasted for the first check the bed charts were all left in the hall so they didnt come in to do them either the place is an accident waiting to happen i eventually walked out of the place at 7 am i sit here now wondering how many deaths this place is responsible for i always thought nurses were over worked and under paid its really under worked and over paid the place is a disgrace

My partner went to a & e and was eventually diagnosed with flu, with dehydration leading to confused state. Sad that the doctors that looked about 22years old decided myself & partner were a pair of drug addicts. It took hours and blood tests to convince them we were in our 50 s and have never taken drugs. Flu was diagnosed which I also caught which had they not completely incorrectly assumed utter nonsense I would have been told to wear a mask . I guess the 22 year old doctors will have judged a couple in their 50 s by their standards. Hugely awful embarrassing shameful experience that made me feel old and not listened to. Just dreadful.
