Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff. Only complaint is the price of a full English breakfast. Ridiculous price

Beautiful hotel, and attentive staff, overall a great experience

We were in August'17. The hotel is very well located, 5 minutes from the center walking and just in front of the Central Station. It is spectacular, the room and bathroom were huge. Everything super clean. Nicely decorated. The attention is 10. If I go back to Amsterdam I will repeat. Congratulations to the hotel staff !!

Got our booked rooms mixed (instead of 4 rooms with 2 separate beds, we got 4 rooms with just single bed in each). Breakfast is good. Shuttle minivan to central station and back departs every 20 mins. Spotted a few mice in the bar

Comfortable hotel, large spaces, well soundproofed rooms, fast and punctual service. Great location, close to the central train station.
Also recommended for children.

Staying at NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon was excellent for who was spending one night in the city. Clean and comfortable rooms, great services, and a wonderful staff. They provided me one of the best experience I've ever had in a hotel. Probably it's going to be my first choice in my next visit to Amsterdam.

We stayed in the hotel for new year's Eve, so was just for one night but I can say it was a great experience. Staff are friendly and helpful, the bar is cosy and they have a nice variety of drinks. The rooms are really modern and nicely finished. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

HORROR Hotel! The pictures looked so different from the actual room! It was dirty, old, damaged, the door did not close properly, very disgusting! I asked if they could give me another room. I could not believe my eyes, it was worse than the first one. The lights were flickering and it did not stop. It had to be a joke, but it was not! I was speechless! Never again.

I can not recommend this hotel to anyone! The photos do not correspond to reality. It's dirty, outdated, broken, the bathroom the purest horror. After a complaint, I was shown another room and the lamp was flickering. That can not be serious.

This is certainly a good hotel, clean, great location, very helpful and highly professional stuff. That said, I think it misses that level of detail of a real 5 stars hotel. For example in my case I was surprised of the level of noise (in particular on saturday evening). Also, I found bizarre that the light at the desk is controlled by the central switch... hence you cannot have a person at the desk without switching on all the lights (and if there was a second person sleeping?). A good experience overall.

I recently stayed in the Junior Suite for New Years Eve. The room was fantastic, very spacious. Hotel reception even let us check-out at 1pm, thank you very much! Love your hotel and city!

On New Year's day though, noticed the hotel reception had a very bad odor, which was fixed within a few hours! Lucky!! I still keep my 5 stars!

Definitely beautiful but the TV is only in German and English without subtitles

This hotel is at a great place, right next to Amsterdam Central station. The room was fine and had everything one could need. The bathroom was great. The only annoyance was that the room was overlooking a canal with bars. Not the best thing on St. Patrick day

Very clean and contemporary hotel right in the central part of Amsterdam across from the train station, this is where you want to stay if you want to experience everything in town. It is near the red light area. Very quick and accomodating service. Has great food especially the breakfast, the dinner was okay. The bar and restaurant was very new age looking but wasn't too crowded because there are so many other places to go out nearby. Conceirge is extremely helpful with navigating the town. They can also call and reserve and book things for you, and the staff speak multiple languages. Highly recommend for location and accomodations.

Best location in town, brekfast is boring. No tub in the room.

Can't understand why it is 5 star hotel

It is a nice and cozy hotel. Breakfast is very fresh and nice. Staffs are very friendly and great. Most important located near to central station and 20 min from Schipol Airport.

It was also a honeymoon and I did not intend to spend money, but I was sent to the basement along the water surface of the canal.
The room is on the wall of the canal, so there are windows but the room is dark and humid. If you open the window, you will have to close the room because you can see the room from the pedestrians in the downtown area.
At night, I was bothered by the noise of the downtown area and the noise of the party ship passing the canal.
In the situation that there are few guests in the off-season and the basement room next door is considered to be misleading if the room is differentiated according to the race considering that there were Asians.

My stay was excellent. I ve stayed here a few times while on business in Amsterdam. The staff was very professional, the property was clean and the location is perfect for tourists. Will be staying here again.

A nice hotel, more central you can not stay in Amsterdam and better probably not!

Well located, clean and comfortable. It would be better if you offer this double bed instead of joining 2 single beds.

So so service. Definitely not at a 5 star level. The room is good but the COVID arrangement are not so good. You have to take appointment for the breakfast, the minibar is empty but still plugged and noisy, the plastic glass are fragile, the is a Nespresso machine but not coffee every day

Brilliant reception staff. Spotless rooms. Very close to central train station. No views from the room we were in but the room was very clean and nice.

Stayed there once at the end of a river cruise, and never again. It's in a seedy, noisy part of town, surrounded by rowdy bars with late-night crowds. The hotel's solution was to place ear plugs on each nightstand. The hotel itself verged on shabby, with filthy carpeting and hallway walls scraped and dinged from luggage carts. My room lacked a closet, instead having a beat-up wardrobe with a few bent wire hangers and it was too narrow to close the doors without turning the hangers sideways. I love Amsterdam and would love to visit it again, but would never consider it if it involves staying at this hotel.

Very pleasent. Somtimes we needed to ask them to add things- toilet paper, soaps etc. Since they didn't make sure to leave enough, but they always responded fast and kindly.

Here is the great class of NH Hotels the excellent service! The perfect situation the spacious and quiet rooms only pleasure and happiness! Thank you it's good and great hotel! The value for money is here! Other NH should take example on this one (the NH of Ghent for example)

Very stylish hotel . It s right in Amsterdam centraal, conveniently located near the train and all shopping stores. Grocery stores and restaurants just steps from the hotel. The rooms are somewhat small and that includes a mini bar. They have a deep soaking tub for those who like to bath.

The room was dusty and they changed it to a room even worse ! The AC had some weird sounds and they took over an hour to come to fix it !

Hotel not worthy of a 5 star very expensive and very noisy 100 euros deposit on arrival for the mini bar ??? 50 euro parking during the day? The services are barely worth a 3 star hotel avoided badly placed next to the station. people flock all day never again.

Great if u want to have a wee smoke in your room. Wouldn't say it was worthy of five stars though.

Thank you so much for an amazing stay at this great hotel in my Amsterdam.All the staff makes you feel so extremely welcome and nothing is too much when you ask them for anything.This hotel is at a perfect location. My twindaughters and I visited my country for the first time again in 36 years believe it or not, and it felt like I had never left. The room was so perfect, every morning when i woke up and pulled back the curtains, i had a beautiful view of the Centraal Station and surrounding buildings. A special thank you to Theresa, a server, who was extremely friendly to us, every time we saw her. She even remembered my name, that was so very special to me! A big thank you to all the staff!

This is a great hotel with a good location, opposite the Central Station, opposite the ferry station and close to the attractions.

The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient. It was just that, on the night of the stay, the boiler that had hot water was faulty. After the counter was notified, the repair was completed in about half an hour.

The breakfast at the hotel is particularly rich, and there are many choices. The fruit is just the same. The friends of the same group are praised, fresh and delicious. When the guests are used up, the service lady will add new ones. Very generous.

The interior of the hotel is very clean and pleasing, and the guests are very comfortable.

Rooms are nice. Walls are a bit thin inside the hotel. "Room with view" means, yes, it has a view, but don't expect sweeping beauty; more like a side line view of a small canal.

I've stayed here a couple of times now, both times the rooms were very nice and clean, the location is perfect and I would recommend to anyone.

The Barbizon gave me initially a rather small room inner courtyard ... after some remarks they were willing to give me a better room, great. The room are rather starkly decorated as in all NH hotels. The location of the hotel is superb with great views and just steps from the historic centre of Amsterdam. Top notch Michelin starred restaurant Vermeer is right next to the hotel - this obviously requires separate reservations.

Nice room with a beautiful view on the canal. Friendly staff. The hotel would maybe need a refreshing job on some details (carpet in the corridors, buttons of the elevators).

Not what we expected; very noisy, inside and out. service patchy and hit and miss. Would not stay again. Previous review responses by the Hotel have said they will share the feedback with their team. Clearly, they are not!

Hotel was nice and all. But a certain rude and ostentatious staff member - female conceirge (Caroline) made the experience quite horrible. Not sure what kind of training system the hotel has but I am sure being rude to customers ain't one of the criterias of working at this 5-star establishment. Please relook at the basic manners of your staff. It's unacceptable.
