NH Barbizon Palace Amsterdam Review

The hotel is very very nice. Placed in the center of the city and just within the intersect of the red light district. Food is exquisite and the staff are very pleasant. The room is beautiful and homely at the same time. I'd stay there a 1000 times over.

I was here for a conference and really enjoyed the location. From the outside you can't get enthusiastic, but within it's really nice. I didn't stay in the hotel, so can't judge that, but the conference location was excellent.

The sinks in the ladies have a glass shelf which soaks your clothes when u wash your hands.

Plus they are downstairs - its not a disabled, differently abled or wheelchair user friendly space.

Staff are of course quite stuck up. Polite. It was OK for a business meeting but we moved when we wanted to 'hang out'.
I used to like the Barbizon, I'm not impressed with the 'NH collection' take over.

5 stars hotel quality with helpful staff. Breakfast is pretty good. Very clean rooms and excellent location.

Top location near the train station. Problems with room service are repaired quickly after complaint. But must the 5 stars first come up? Our room was very noisy. The breakfast seems a bit monotonous after several days, a little variety would be desirable. The staff is very polite and helpful.

Location:
Perfect, right in the heart of the city, walking distance to absolutely everything. You could not choose a better location for seeing the city by foot.

Hotel:
Luxury, the hotel inside and out is really modern and clean.. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Concierge was excellent, very helpful and recommend some excellent places.

Room:
Beautifully modern clean room, everything was really good quality.

Arrived earlier than hotel check-in time, it was nice because the room was already ready. Wherever I go somewhere in Europe, the room is not ready even a little earlier than the check-in time. The breakfast was really good and the cucumbers were in the water in the lobby. My mom hurt her foot and asked for antiseptics and anti-inflammatory drugs, and the staff thanked me for bringing them. But waited more than an hour to receive the drug ..... The staff's service is very good in Europe! But city tax was more expensive than anywhere else 5% of the accommodation fee, not scouting (?), The more expensive the more expensive city tax ^^ ;;;

I booked it really expensive. I was a bit disappointed with the photos and the room was different, but it was spacious and clean. It is right in front of the main street and the floor is low and it is noisy. Accessibility is very good.

The most satisfying point is that the breakfast was very delicious! Amenity was substantial and was thankful. Because it was close to the station, it was convenient for sightseeing.

We received a free upgrade because the hotel circuit did not work.

5 Star Hotel. Front desk service is good. Room is nice but no toiletries provided.

No hospitality at all, staff makes simple problems so complicated, it's a 5 star hotel with the quality of one star

Less than 7 minutes the keys were with us without the annoying bluff.

Well-kept and well-equipped room with a great minibar and perfectly reasonable prices.
Breakfast 8 courteous staff.

Rooms clean after we returned from a shopping and hiking trip.
Great gym and sauna.
Excellent lobby service.
Location: Opposite Central Station.
7 minutes walk from Dam Square.

And a reasonable price per night.

Unfortunately the special flair of the NH chain is missing. The breakfast service doesn't match that. Waiters sometimes ingnorant and unfriendly.

Very pleasant hotel, breakfast very nice, one must ask for eggs from the waiter. They do not have bread without glutens. I did not like their coffee and cappuccino. Room service is nice.

Nicely appointed hotel in a very central location, just a short walk to Amsterdam Centraal. Although our room looked out over some very busy cafes and bars we hardly noticed them. Free WiFi throughout. A solid place to stay.

In front of central station. Hotelazo with a restaurant with Michelin stars that takes away the sense

Concierge was very professional and helpful as was the reception staff.

Great hotel! Very comfortable and on great place! All the important spots were walking or biking distance from NH Barbizon Palace.

The hotel did not deliver to the standard if service expected. On returning to the room at the end of the day saw that the room had not been cleaned. Had to spend the night in an unkempt room. The room was extremely warm and was informed that the hotel does
not have airconditioning but has air control system. A hotel this expensive should ensure that it's rooms can be cooled. Very disappointed.

Beautiful school, clean, clean bathroom, delicious breakfast. But must wake up to 555 Otherwise, we can escape. Staff speak fast, listen well. We have to pay for local taxes. What is it? Pay before placing a credit card. When checking out, he will return to good service, maintain security, friendly but only a little expensive. When staying, do not choose a connecting room, because it doesn't sound.

We checked in and we had no soaps in our bathroom & there was one bathrobe missing.
The breakfast was included and was really good. Sometimes we needed to wait as they refilled the food, took too long sometimes.

Me and my partner stayed here twice in 6 weeks . Beautiful hotel , with lovely welcoming staff .cleanliness was perfect . Would definitely recommend this hotel . Situated close to the train station and the canals are right behind , our room was a Superior room , spacious and comfortable ! Can t wait to return !

I ve Hotel, well located. Room was a little dark but think that s because I was below ground level next to a canal with a very noisy (and illuminated) pub opposite.

Like most Amsterdam hotels though, overly inflated room rate.

Excellent hotel if you plan on staying in Amsterdam. It's across the main train station, has big and confortable rooms, free wifi and the breakfast is great.

Location was perfect for access to everything, including Centraal station for trips out of the city.

Good hotel with excellent location next to central station

A really nice hotel with great service. The rooms are very cosy, comfortable and well designed. The hotel stuff are very professional, welcoming and putting the effect so you'll have a nice and enjoyable stay. The location is superb, just a few minutes from the station. The spa is basic and clean. Bare in mind that the level of hotels in general in Amsterdam are much lower that other cities in the world, so this hotel is a very good one comper to alternatives.

Amsterdam Central station is near and it is good to move. It is clean.

This hotel is very centrally located. The rooms are clean and not dated. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is extensive and the staff is also friendly.
The price we paid for 2 rooms with a view of the station was extremely reasonable.
Nothing to complain about this hotel and I love to come back here.

Why I am giving 4 stars? Street noise! which in some rooms (mine and friends ) is not acceptable because of the poor sound proofing. And these streets in Amsterdam are full or noisy lads every night.

5 star hotel with unfortunately only 4 star services. Very good location right on the main station with direct access to the old town .. Nice rooms, very friendly staff but unfortunately inconsistent room service. Sometimes towels are missing, then the bathrobe, then there is still waste in the toilet area. The service in the bar area left a lot to be desired. Breakfast was not 5 stars, scrambled eggs from the bag (!!!), only 4 sorts of cheese and no cheese, sausage looked also not so appetizing. Hotel is okay, but 5 stars are different.

Have a coffee in the bar, lounge music, cozy atmosphere, very pleasant and can rest of the world on the streets

I had a really nice room, quiet and comfortable. I was told by colleagues that rooms on the front side are more noisy. Great breakfast buffet. The staff is friendly and speaks English routinely - it looked as if most visitors are travellers from Asia. Relatively expensive, but well situated.
