New Yorker Deli Review

Absolutely love this place. I moved to Roanoke a few years ago and have fell in love with this place. The portions you get for the price is amazing. The staff is always super polite. Never dined in but when I carry out I have seen the staff being very attentive to their tables and it has always seemed clean.

We come from out of town to eat here. Great food, great prices. Friendly environment. Will go back soon.

Love this sub and always stop to get it if I'm anywhere close by. It's huge and my hubs and I always split one. Can't beat the prices either, but no cards or checks. Bring cash.

Place is nice. Not expensive. I had a submarine sub, big delicious sub. My wife had roast beef which it wasn't that good to be honest. This is the only reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars. Waitress was really friendly and helpful.

Best Italian Sub I've ever had! I'm from Greensboro, hubby from Roanoke. He introduced me to New Yorker 20+ years ago, The Best!!! Get it with slaw instead of lettuce.

The food was good but they really need to have more waitresses or waiters especially if they are going to pull your waitress to help with a big party and your service is sub par because of that.

Would say great but some inconsiderates blared their cell phones sharing their trash.

Have been eating here for years. Lot of good choices on the menu. The one negative i have is they still have the same tables and chairs from the 80's.

The New Yorker Deli is one of the finest restaurants I've been to. The food is awesome and very generous portions, no matter what you choose! It really does have a deli case and sells the meats, etc, used in the menus. 5stars!

Everything one would expect from a New York Delicatessen. Submarine sandwich which comes with coleslaw is one of their Hallmarks. I do not think they take credit cards

This is my go-to for great deli sandwiches. The Kosher Klub is awesome, but you really can't go wrong at the New Yorker!

Over priced for the proportion size, you get about 20% of what you would get from a real NY Deli. Enough said.

Won't answer the phone. Tried to call and place an order for pick up because I didn't have much time. They would not answer the phone. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Were do I start. I had the turkey sub add slaw. The sub was well under 10 bucks and bigger than my forearm. It came warm with melty provolone and a toasted bun. I could barely finish half. It also came with a Delish dill pickle - topping off the perfect ny deli style. My dad and I also shared a piece of NY cheesecake which was also huge and so so good.
If you want delicious, straight forward food with friendly servers then definitely go here - often. You and your wallet won't regret it!

Food isn't as good as in the past and I feel it's very unprofessional to hear employees complain and argue with other employees!

I've visited 3 times. Each time was great! Food is awesome and prices are fair. Just remember it's cash only.

Still have good subs, which I got, and took more than half of it home to my husband, who was happy, as he likes New Yorker. MY Sister had a Reuben, delicious as always. BUT we had a little panic attack when we learned that they only take cash. I did have cash plus some leftover as you cannot beat the prices here. Our late afternoon waitress was accommodating and easygoing.

The food is always amazing. I live a few hours away but anytime I m in town I stop here. The past few times I ve been here my servers have lacked. There is an older lady who has been serving here for years who is wonderful. I give it 3 stars

I have not been to the New Yorker in a long time. The food was excellent. The aroma just walking in the door can not be beat. Can't wait to go again

This is a nice little place with good prices and sandwiches. They only take cash though, so make sure you have some available.

Ive been eating here since i was a little girl with my grandparents! The food, staff and atmosphere are awesome!

I got the new Yorker special but I don't understand why couldn't substitute the corned beef for pepperoni. They told me I couldn't substitute meats and I cook in a local restaurant and I do as the customer asks. The lady said I could have pepperoni on the side but I couldn't substitute the meat which makes no sense since the customer is always right. I really loved the sandwich but the idea that I couldn't substitute a meat is absolutely ridiculous.

Got a sub with no toppings so I ate what I coulda ate at home, bologna and bread with no refund unless I bring it back (the next day) time and $ wasted but never again! No cheese, no peppers, no onions, no slaw and no pickle

We go there almost every Sunday after church. Never disappointed with our meal.

The only thing that could make this establishment better is the ability to take electronic payment. Cash only is tough.

The food was ok. However what was not ok was one of the chef's in the back screaming "This is bull****" and "Shut the **** up". Any quality restaurant would walk them out of the building and fire them. The date of the incident was today1/23/19 at approx 11:45am.

I qualify food based on four categories: fast, cheap, large, and good. I'm usually looking for something that checks at least two of said categories. I've been eating here since 2001 and almost everything I've ever had checks all four boxes. My only issue is that credit & debit cards are not accepted. If you have cash, this is thebest deli I've ever experienced in this parry of the country.
