Hidden treasure in NYC. A must see in the late Spring through early Fall.
Just love this place, you go there for 2-3 hours and it's like you spent a week in a retreat resort
Very beautiful. So happy we chose this botanical garden to visit.
it's ok, nothing spectacular, it's good if you leave close by, but it's not worth the money and time if you visiting New York , those flowers are real
The best place 2 visit in the Bronx!! Family friendly & nature at it's most splendid!! You'll be happy you went ;)
A little bit of country in the Bronx. Always a fun place.
I have been going there for years. Great place. Constantly changing season to season. Become a member, it worth it.
There is no place like the Botanical Garden. Once you are there is like being in a different place. The beauty leave you speechless. Best time to go is early in the morning or after 3 pm depending on holidays. But if you don't mind the people anytime is worth it. If it was up to me, i go there every day to relax and forget about the city and feel free with nature.
We visited Bronx Botanical Garden last spring.
They had a wine tasting event in the garden, so we decided to pay for the ticket and have some wines there too. (Brought the plastic glass back that has NYBG letter on it - I still use it when I have some one home!)
I also found one of my favorite wine house there which is named Tousey winery.
Then, we spend all day there. The weather was a lil chilly, but they have outside and inside garden. No problem to spend a long time.
Afterwords we went to little Italy in Bronx for dinner. It was a nice worth petit day trip from the city.
It is a little paradise here on earth, wonderful, beautiful, charming! I recommend you go, it will be an unforgettable experience. I'll be back soon
One of my best Go places in NYC. Come and meet hundreds of pumpkins ;)! 2000 lbs Giant Pumpkin King!!
Went for train night! They have cute little events you should keep an eye out for
The NYBG Orchid show is sensational. The orchids are selected, grown and arranged to provide an outstanding experience. The stroll through the Enid Haupt Conservatory brings you worlds of fantasy and beauty while still in NYC. Afterward a walk along the many paths are a delight. The snowdrops and witch hazel are in bloom. The conifer section is always welcoming in the winter. After seeing the show and walk pop in for lunch at the Cafe.
Overall a completely wonderful experience.
We are members and as we go through Spring we visit almost weekly. The Garden becomes a Utopia as the trees, daffodils, tulips, cherries, crab apples, lilacs and roses bloom. A rebirth after a winters rest.
Check the website for the many events and guided sessions offered.
So gorgeous. Absolutely worth the trek from Brooklyn!
It is a place where nature is in charge of releasing you from all the stress that everyday life produces, a radical change of environment
This is a really nice place, huge too! It's right by the college and there's parking lots all over (as well as taking the MTA). There are inside exhibits, we actually got our engagement pictures taken here in March 2017. They were having some sort of orchid festival going on in their exhibits. There's a cafe there that serves the typical museum food and you can get coffee and stuff. One of the nicest botanical gardens in any city.
If you like nature. This is the place to go. Beautiful gardens and trails.
Great place to visit; oldest trees, great variety of plants, largest botanical library, courteous and we'll trained employees.
One of my favorite places....so sedate and peaceful. Love it!
It has beautiful flowers very peaceful and has a geratplace for kids to go play.
Love the annual orchid show. The NYBG is a jewel, a natural treasure.
Wonderful escape from the concrete. Train show is very cool.
Enjoyed Everything!! One day is not enough to see it ALL! Family friendly, Great for all!
August 9 indoors is Close most interesting part of the park is close but, open outdoors ticket cost 22 for adults and parking 20 dollars.
Loved it, a piece of heaven in our busy lives, only issue was cost which seemed expensive $20 for parking and $28 per person. Don't get me wrong beautiful gardens and it must cost a fair amount to maintain, but at this price a lot of people who would want to go can not afford to
It's a great botanical garden. Has everything you would expect to see. Specifically, I went for the orchid show with a significant other but it sure delivered. Beautiful landscapes as far as the eye can see. Very clean as well. As you know, a lot of it is a greenhouse so dress accordingly.
Gorgeous. Do yourself a favor and go here. They have parking available.
The New York City Botanical Garden (avidly called Bronx Botanical Garden by the locals), tucked in the heart of The BRONX, one of the 5 boroughs of New York City, with 250 acre verdant landscape, it boasts an extensive collection of over 1- million living plants. If you are a plant lover, this place is a must see for you. Great place for educational tours and family adventure to discover the world of plants. A word of caution, do not wonder around The Bronx, you don't want to be in the wrong part of town. Group tours are highly-recommended and a must see location.
Really serene and Beautiful flowers, and the yogurt in the Cafe is the bomb
The NYBG are beautiful of course but the crowning glory of our visit was the orchid exhibit! It was amazing!!!
Superb! I can really recommend this botanical garden as a nice escape when visiting NY. You can travel by metro/train, please be carefull to pay for an additional ticket grand central-botanical garden.
The yearly Orchid Show is always wondrous to behold. It is a leisurely walk with multiple places to sit down. Photo opportunities abound. The flowers in some locations are very fragrant and heady. Lovely. The only problem is the climb to the desert section for the wrap around walk back. If you have trouble with stairs, the elevator door (top and bottom) doesn't close well enough to allow the handicapped lift to work.
I think this is one of my favorite places now. Love all the plants and the tram that goes around makes it convenient to get to all the different spots
A stunner! This property is as gorgeous as it gets. Get ready and go! Each and every turn is filled with beauty. Bring food and drinks, comfy shoes, and be ready to spent at least 6 hours.
Lovely Glow event with park lit by beautiful Christmas ornaments, on display December to January.
The Garden is a vast exploring ground of rare and exotic plants as well as naturally occurring plants, arranged beautifully. The winter train display is lovely and highly recommended. Good for family and friends.
Even with the long lines during spring, once your inside the gardens are so vast and there are so many exhibits that it s very pleasant. We enjoyed our visit and couldn t visit everything within 3-4 hours so we re returning again. All botanical parking lots were full by midday but there are many other parking garages nearby. There s a very convenient metro north station that stops right at one of the botanical garden entrances. Pack a picnic mat, lunch and find a beautiful spot to take in the beauty!
The gardens are beautiful. The conservatory is currently under construction which made the price of admission seem a bit too high
BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO TAKE PICS!! And children to entertain
As usual it's a wonderful place to enjoy and relax nature. Beautiful gardens and well taken care of
A must see in NYC. An oasis of green, birds, chipmunks and silence.
Beautiful place to visit, spent the best part of a day here wandering around the lovely scenery, and still didn't get to see everything. If I lived here I would get a membership as it was a very serene place. Plenty of space for walking around but there is also a bus/carriage that can get you around from a to b for those not so good on their feet, or just getting tired. Also had a lovely lunch. Was fast food so I was surprised at the great quality and that everything we ate from was either compostable or recyclable.
What is there to not love about this botanical Museum. The estate is well maintained and the plants, fauna, flowers, and trees are very happy; they all glow and exude happiness and therefore activate happiness within. There is so much visible natural beauty and peace about the grounds and it is a stone throw from industrial urban living. To have and be privy to such beauty and information (there is a library on site) is truly much fortune in this age of the unconscious.
One of NYC's gems. It has wonderful grounds with something to see all year round. I attended the annual orchid show which is always spectacular!
My favorite place on EARTH. It is beautiful, peaceful, lush and gorgeous. If you love peace and spiritual rejuvenation then you absolutely MUST visit this lovely kingdom of plants, flora and fauna.
The location outside the botanical garden is not as nice. Once you enter thru the gate, you will be amazed at the beauty within. It feels like a different world with exotic flowers blooming and the smell in which you can not duplicate outside the garden. Admission is pricey but it is worth it. There is a parking garage across from the garden, pay for parking as you purchase the entry ticket because there is a discount. Enjoy!
Rose Garden was in full bloom! Great place to visit, a gem in the city. Worth becoming a member.
A peaceful haven in a busy bourgh. Beautiful pleace to vist
This place is beautiful and amazing. Been coming for years. Works for all four seasons. Orchid show, train show, and much more. Worth a visit if you ve never seen it.
Over priced and do not bother going if the flowers are not in full bloom you will be very disappointed. If you can its best to go during the week. Long lines over the weekend screaming kids and you can rarely get a good photo due to thee amount of people.
Always a wonderful time....Discovered the Rock Garden on my recent visit.Absolutely beautiful.
Love going in the spring when they have the orchid show. Be mindful of what country the show is based on. Some countries have more floral based plants which are beautiful other countries have more greens.
Fabulous displays! Park condition has significantly improved since last year with new plants and new landscaping. A true gem of nature!
I love, love, love you this place. It is like an oasis in the middle of the City. No matter the situation or how out-of-balanced I may feel, visiting this gem always lifts my spirit. With its implosion of fragrance, color and texture, a trip to the Botanical Garden is always a welcome respite for my weary soul.
....and be a dear when you visit and become a member. It is a tax write-off, helps will the cause and will encourage you to take full advantage of all that is offered year round. I promise you that you will leave there feeling a little bit more genteel.
Was really nice! Large area , great experience. Unfortunately it started raining at some point so we couldnt See everything. The Park tram was broke that day, so I can only give 4 stars. Nice alternative for busy days in NYC
Great place to escape the city. Loved the orchid exhibit.
It was different for me never went to a botanical garden
