I was called in for an interview. I arrived 15 minutes early. After being checked in, I was asked to fill out paperwork and then put it in an envelope. After I was done I handed the envelope to the lady upfront only to have the envelope thrown back at me. The lady said I told you only the back needs to be in the envelope. Open it back up and try again. I then opened it, put what she needed into it, resealed it for her, and sat back down. I waited for about 20 more minutes before I asked if they still wanted to meet with me. Only to be told that they re obviously busy. While sitting and waiting I overheard someone (possibly a client of some sort) on the phone asking for a specific person in the office. The person in the office that was requested looked at the lady on the phone and told her just tell her I m not here. I also heard a bunch of people laughing in the back room, which I wouldn t of minded if someone would ve just acknowledged me. So, about a total of 50 minutes into sitting and waiting for my interview, I left. If this is how they would ve treated me as an employee, I could only imagine how they treat their clients, and I don t want anything to do with it.

I have been working for New Horizons for about 2 y...

I have been working for New Horizons for about 2 years. I have found it to be overwhelmingly positive. Staffing has been good and understanding when i couldn't take extra shifts, and case managers have responded well to my concerns about clients. There will always be a few glitches here and there, because we're all human, but by and large, i greatly enjoy both the work and the company.

Our caregiver Elizabeth from New Horizons is such an asset in our home. She is reliable, very knowledgeable and skilled, consistent, and goes above and beyond to show true care and compassion for my wife who is a client of New Horizons. The staff at New Horizons has been very helpful as well and they quickly and professionally handle any issues if and when they occur. My wife continues to heal and flourish because of the excellent care we receive from both Elizabeth and her employer New Horizons. HATS OFF to you and thank you for being there for my family and I.

It's close to a year since I started working for New horizons, I'm glad I can choose my schedule and work as many hours as I can. The staffing are superb! I'm happy to be part of this Great team.

Steer clear they promise you (clients/staff) things they can t deliver on. The scheduling department is a complete disaster and I have watched (had to be) staff blow up people s phones to cover shifts and don t tell staff when they don t have replacements. They take on clients they don t have the staffing for. They spent 90% of their day calling clients telling them they don t have coverage or if they do get coverage it is hours late. Their office staff are sent out as caregivers OFTEN (my 3rd day I was). When I asked for a procedures manual while trainging I was told there wasn t one. I was asked to lie to clients and families and when I was sent in the field, promising them things they cannot deliver on - and they are grossly understaffed, yet still taking on new - high needs clients.

My caregiver, Waylen, is an excellent care giver for me. Waylen is well matched to my needs. I am wheelchair bound but ambulatory and mostly self maintaining. Waylen does a great job of understanding my skill deficits and works to augment what i can do. Waylen helps with my physical therapy
and my skin care requirements. Waylen anticipates my physical house maintenance requirements and works well with me on my routines. Waylen is also personable.

I have been exceptionally pleased with Lucy Wairimu as my helper from New Horizons. I have been okay with other caregivers that I appreciate, but Lucy tops them all. New Horizons has been wonderful about working with me about time changes and scheduling and I would definitely recommend them.

I am a care giver at New Horizons since they went under new ownership and I do have to say it s been a wonderful company to work for. They listen to my needs, what I m comfortable with, and they follow my availability to a T. I haven't had any issues working for them and I highly recommend applying.

I loved my clients, unfortunately staffing lies if you do on call. They will schedule you till a certain time then never tell you no one is coming to relieve you. They blow up your phone constantly on your days off, all hours of the night. I heard so many clients complain about other caregivers or the company itself. Heartbreaking to see clients go thru that, and even harder because it puts you in the middle. No Insurance after 90 days even if you are full time.

We have been a client of New Horizons for over 2 years. They provide service for both my wife and me. New Horizon do a terrific job and are very easy to work with. Their care-givers take personal interest in the client and are well experienced. We would highly recommend NEW HORIZONS.
