One of the best Sunday roasts I ve had in London! Big portions, comfortable vibe and an open fire make this the perfect pub for a post-ramble pint.

Great pub in Hampstead away from the high street. Solid burger, great beer selection and super friendly staff. Going back for dinner tomorrow!
Back for Sunday dinner. Excellent, the best pub roast have had in a very long time. Very accommodating for young kids too with a kids menu available.
the pub is so cool many kinds of beer selection and classical interior the cat and dog here are so lovely really love this place
Love this place with the new refurb. Exactly what Hampstead needs. Very friendly staff. The sort of place you can get great food or just hang out at the bar with a beer. Good beer selection too. Slightly disappointed that the veggie roast on Sunday is more expensive than the meat options and also not vegan. That's my only reason for not giving 5 stars (you know what do you do Duke!)
Friendly local pub in Hampstead which also hosts live jazz in their basement in an intimate atmosphere. Need to book tickets in advance as limited room for the music.
Not open every day , be aware. A nice old pub with excellent line up of music.
Had a lovely experience first day of pubs opening in lockdown was really looked after by Shane and co, highly recommend friendly atmosphere and food was delicious! Highly recommend the gnocchi and boneless wings!
Quiet enough to talk, lively enough to feel involved, rustic enough to eat and drink well.
Great little pub with great staff and drinks selection
Rabbit hole beneath is a nice venue for small productions
Great place to spend an evening with friends. Exceptional choice of musicians q d the sound is good too.
Def recommend!!!
Food amazing as always roast on point and PROPER!
Desserts perfect aswell rhubarb and custard was lovely and the sticky toffee pudding something i can eat all night long
Very authentic place to relax on a sunday afternoon !!!
A decent pub, has been through many changes over the years but I think it's at its best reincarnation right now. They have a jazz club downstairs although I've never been for that
Cozy and beautiful, historic building. However barman is way too intense and unnecessarely ironic and prefers to browse Facebook instead of serving customers.
Very cool pub and hampstead jazz club in the basement.. what else??
A traditional pub off the beaten track, so nice and quiet compared to other pubs in Hampstead. Dogs are welcome too!
Me and Nick had a lovely morning sampling the lovely tastes of the estabkishment
Great little pub. Had mussels and fries. Fries were fantastic. White wine and cream sauce was great. Only issue is that the mussels were a bit dry and skinny.
This is a safe and quiet pub with fantastic food and a lovely terrace. But the best part is the service, all staff is super kind. In particular, Daniel Lobo knows very well how to do his job. He has been super sweet and attentive. Thanks to him, we had a fantastic afternoon, and we felt like princesses. He made everything possible to make us comfortable and happy. To be mentioned, food is fresh and tasty. I will definitely come back, and Daniel made the difference. Call and book a table, you will not be disappointed.
Nice place with good selection of beers. Food is good.
Wow! The roast was just nasty ! Hard potatoes cabbage as good as raw. Gravy like dishwater never again
Went to see the jazz on a Friday night, which was really incredible! But the bar downstairs was closed and only one barman upstairs. With a full house downstairs, this was a joke! You have to go outside in order to use the toilets...The Jazz Club basement could really do with some better heating and insulation - it was COLD, even though full. The space also really needs re-arranging to give the audience a better view of the band. The VIP seats were a joke! I think the owner really needs to give the place more attention if he wants it to be a premier venue for Jazz... Apparently the band members did not even receive a drink on the house, and they played for over 2 hours! Shame!
Although I have only been here in the Covid Lockdown it seems a great pub. I love that they were doing take away drinks and serving some decent groceries. Friendly barman, one for the list when the lockdown lifts.
We were sent here from the Holly Bush. Only had drinks which were fine. Had space to sit down.
Love the style, very cosy and would be a good place for a tourist to pop in to for a few drinks
Very nice homey pub. Love the music they play, lovely neighborhood. Drinks are nice
Nice little place in Hampstead. It's just off the main road, 5 min walk from the station. Friendly staff. The manager of the Jazz club was also really nice, friendly and welcoming.
under new ownership and fantastic now - great food, nice atmosphere. try the chicken wings.
Lovely location, friendly unpretentious staff, great food. Highly recommended.
Nice pub in a tucked away location. Beer selection not brilliant and not much seating as most people there to eat
Sat outside, lovely evening and good food. Great service from friendly staff.
Fantastic music, this intimate venue is a real hidden gem! I Cannot recommend this place enough
To finish celebrating my 30th I wanted to end the week with a yummy roast with my family. Booked a table for 12 people but miss counted a couple people, the staff were very accommodating and squeezed in few more chairs. No trouble. As far as 'normal' family outings go this went very well. The food was AMAZING! Everyone at the table was impressed and thanked me for choosing this place. Also I felt it was a coincidence the music playlist was a mix of rock and power ballads, got half the table singing and head banging . We had such a laugh and cant thank the staff enough. Thanks for taking a family photo at the end too. See you soon!
This pub feels like a preserved slice of a Hampstead which no longer really exists - harking back to an era when this was a quirky and characterful corner of London, but not solely the preserve of the super-rich.
A nice outdoor seating area for the rare sunny days
The Jazz Club downstairs sounds great considering its small size. It's a treat to see this quality of artists in such an intimate setting
Great little pub with nice atmosphere, really good food & beer, very courteous staff
Great little intimate jazz club with some very high quality talent. PLUS Great fries, great rum.
Cool pub with takeaway pints during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nice backyard to take advantage of a warm afternoon. It got dark for us and they brought us a candle for the table. The attention sooo good, always attentive. Excellent food! Good options in fish and seafood.
The Duke is now reopen. 3 real ales and good food. The pub has been refurbished and looks great. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Good old Hampstead pub sits opposite the old workhouse which became New End Hospital if you needed a Doctor or Nurse you could always find 1 in 'The Duke' in truth a good old local hospital. Now turned into private flats. Thats life!
Great beers on tap, only issue is not enough lights in the garden, maybe some dim lighting to enjoy an evening drink. Otherwise a great visit
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, nice selection of ales.
What an amazing new addition to the Hampstead pub scene. We've been there twice and both times the food and the service were impeccable.
The pub is cosy and has a decent wine list as well as wide beer/ale/lager range. Recommend!
A really lovely place and if I will have another chance to go in London definitely I will book again at this lovely hotel.
Great little pub, good service and nice little outdoor heaters!
Traditional pub with excellent atmosphere and great music on jazz nights. Worth a visit.
A lovely freehouse with plenty of seating inside and out. Visited at the end of the Bank Holiday weekend so maybe explained why four of the beers were off tap. Friendly team behind the bar, though would appreciate some beer, not just foam, when asking for a taster. Though I didn't eat there the food smelled and looked lovely.
Lovely refurbished old pub with good food (check out the bar food menu as well as the main one!)
Extremely inflated prices for sub par food.
Happy to pay extra for a higher quality meal but unfortunately the quality is just poor.
Additionally the seating was uncomfortable, and definitely did not conform to social distancing requirements.
Staff would collect empty plates and glasses from customers without gloves and then serve drinks / food to others with no hand cleansing inbetween... Also no face coverings in site.
Had a great lunch with friends at The Duke of Hamilton! They have a large selection of beers/drinks and an amazing menu of delicious food and deserts!
Fantastic service, relaxed pub to enjoy a drink!
Good vibes.
I am really gutted about how much they changed this place!
It was a real gem in the heart of Hampstead, and one of my neighbourhood's favourites, but it lost its character & welcoming appeal.
They turned it into yet another dull, common, cold place like the hundreds more you find around London.
Great to have you back old friend. Even better with Stone and Wood on tap!
Had a fantastic evening, great music, Steve is a wonderful host.
Great pub off the main road. Staff is friendly. Chicken wings are
good food, good service, limited beer selection compared to the pubs in the neighbourhood
Food was amazing , well my roast was!
Staff was friendly and very helpful!
We will be back soon again
A lovely little find, there's a homely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, Steve the owner was chatty and very helpful, not only directing us to a lovely restaurant but ringing and booking a table for us. Now me being a cynical soul, thought this could be the precursor to being screwed.. However this was not the case and we enjoyed an amazing three course meal at a bargain price. Thanks Steve and all the best to you in whatever you do in the future. If you're in the area drop by, you won't regret it.
The guest ales are brilliant , Excellent staff, I use to be a frequent visitor here, Met my future friend here, Oliver Reed, Fantastic location, I be celebrating my birthday here in The Duke of Hamilton, next month, in july.
The food is amazing, we have come for the PROPER roast twice now and it was incredible both times. Good selection of beers too (even a rhubarb sour, awesome).
Excellent little local pub. Now with a full food menu. Recently refurbished and no longer an old man pub
