One such project is HS2 - High-Speed Two - which will connect London with Birmingham initially before extending further northwards towards Manchester & Leeds by 2033. This project will significantly reduce travel times between these cities while boosting economic growth along its route.
Another major project currently underway is Crossrail - Elizabeth Line - which will connect Heathrow Airport with central London via Paddington Station before continuing eastwards towards Canary Wharf & Abbey Wood by December 2019. This project will increase capacity on London’s transport network by up-to-10% while reducing journey times for commuters travelling from east-to-west or vice versa within Greater London area.
