NC Department of Labor needs to step up their game and do spot checks of companies. Salaried employees are getting screwed by being forced to work massive amounts of overtime that they aren't getting paid for. For example, working their own shift and being required to work other shifts bc of employees not showing up. And not getting any breaks at all. News flash, state law says that even salaried emplotees get 2 10 min. Breaks and one 30 min. break daily and can't work more than 40 hours weekly without being compensated or use comp time.

Filed a complain online last weekend...haven't received a call yet. When filing a complaint on their website, upon completion, you get a message stating that they will contact you within 48 hrs of your compliant. Sure...Time to make people do their job.
I try to contact many times for complain about wages and hours by phone in NC Labour Department. They pick up the phone and when I explaing my complain they cut off the phone. Every time they didn't listen me. Where do I complain if NC DOL didn't listen my complain.
My part time employer refused to pay me for the last two weeks I worked and I called the Labor Board. The lady I talked to was nice and helped me get the pay that I was owed. It took a little time, but I was very satisfied that I was able to get paid for the hours I worked. I am very thankful for the way things turned out and I think they even fined my former employer as well.
I worked my first three days upon hire and didn t receive all my pay. I have been giving the run arounds since last Wednesday 11/28/18. Receptionist told me one day I called they don t have HR in there building. Then proceeded to say there was no management in the building. It s law if they leave more than 100.00 off your paycheck your supposed to be paid immediately. Well I have suffered a important bill being paid because, of the disregard they have shown to pay me. Still have not received my pay. Not to mention it s not the best facility at all. Patients load heavy, staffing is inadequate and supplies need to care for patients is sparse. I even called Sava the company it s ran by payroll department and the lay in which I spoke with was very rude! When I told her I was going to file a complaint with the N.C. Labor Board her response was, ok ! That is bad business! I am new to the concord area been a cna for 18 years and I have never ever had to go through a situation as such. I would not recommend this a a place of employment to no one. Unprofessional! People handling payroll that is inexperienced and with no credentials for the position.
Sadly the organization that s supposed to care the most cares the least. Your protected concerted activity is not protected by the DoL. Much like OSHA, DoL is run strictly like a business. If they don t think they can make millions from your case then they don t care. I made several attempts to protect a injured co-worker that was forced to labor at Asheville Habitat for inHumanity. I was fired and the DoL asked my injured co-worker zero questions about that day to discover the truth. No effort was made at all by the DoL, what a joke.
What a Joke!!! Hire a private attorney, thats the only way you will get help. Apparently state and local Government can use unpaid slave labor and get away with it. Unpaid Kelly/Gap time.
They could have helped me if they really wanted too. They strung me along for awhile and I knew they wouldn't do anything but i had to follow due process.
I can only imagine how delayed they are with responding to anyone's online requests, hell you won't even help over the phone. What so I need to come to Raleigh
Attempted to contact them concerning my issue .instead I get a very rude csr. That refused to help noir listen to my issue. She was very rude and disrespectful along with being professional. This office needs to revamp the Dept that answers the calls.
Employees seem to want to collect and work only a couple of days. In NC the Department of Labor seems to only support the employees not ever the employer.
I would never do business in this state. The labor secretary just said that COVID poses no extra required protections to workers. She is retiring of course. No to any business that accepts this position.
Bunch of lazy no-good government workers they hung up on me 3 times I didn't even get to speak to nobody last person said we don't have time to talk and hung up. It's just like with all government agencies not worth a hoot period ever
Lov the gov for standing up for me 2 doesn't t cover housing employment education education is the only thing that the other side runs on like the time Easley got 200000 twice from the state college budget for his wife s retirement now Easley jr won t do this job as a lawyer in defending a bill passed by elective body of our state ty sir
The only reason they are getting 4 Stars is because Natalia solved my issue.. I called 3 times prior to talking to Natalia. My 3rd call I got Celeste on the phone. She was rude as hell and overtalked me. Instead of listening to me to find out that my son's work location had no walls, she kept ASSuming it did. I just hung up on her.. Thank you Natalia!!!!
