I loved my time at the Naval Postgraduate School. I believe that Dean Rich Lyons has a clear vision which inspires key values in staff, faculty, students, alumni, and the general community. The people I worked with at Haas both worked and played hard. I took pride in being a part of a high-functioning team of highly motivated individuals. I felt like I had strong mentors who were very supportive of my own professional development. That said, this is not an organization in which it is easy to move up. Although an employee may show the dedication to work 60 hour weeks for months while only claiming 40, there are no guarantees that a strong work ethic will be rewarded through school awards or promotion.
Pros.
strong work ethic, hard workers, dedication, fun team, diversity in workload, never a dull moment.
Cons.
limited work/life balance, failure to reclassify employees as a result of added responsibility, unrealistically high expectations commensurable to pay grade
