Always have taken my dog here. Never had a problem. Even fixed a billing issue after a misunderstanding. 10/10 would recommend

It's a fairly decent pet store. Their aquarium mangers really know a lot about water chemistry and tanks. I didn't realize aquarium's were such a popular thing in Indiana.

The animals there (specifically the rodents) are usually sick and the store doesn't really care to try and fix the issue.

Have gone here for years and the staff gets to know you and makes the best reccomendation for your pet needs

Fun store with good food. I went looking for specialty dog food but it was missing some brands that I had seen online. Still a great place for all your pets needs.

They have a good selection of Fish, both Salt & Freshwater. Good selection of different kinds of Pet Supplies too.

They had everything we needed at a really good price.

Great customer service and amazing selections. Morgan that oversees the Aquatics is as amazing as you could expect for a pet store employee. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable and that goes for everyone else working at this fine establishment. A+++ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great help but omg wish the bathrooms were as clean as the pet cages.

This is my favorite pet store in Bloomington. They have a large selection of products to choose from for all types of animals. Particularly their cat, dog, and fish sections are well stocked and supply a variety of brands to chose from.
I also noticed that the fish here look a bit healthier than some other locations in town.

Staff truly loves animals and the animals are well taken care of.

This place is great! I have never not been able to find something for any of my pets. Treats and toys are a given, but Petco also offers a good variety of medications that you just cant get elsewhere around here. I would still recommend chewy.com, but if you cant stand to wait a couple days or prefer to not buy online, this is an excellent alternative :)

Prices were ridiculous and there wasn't nearly enough staff!

I got a cockatiel from this location a month ago, and he passed away a month to the day from when I got him. He was only 5 months old, and healthy when I went to bed the night before. I went to bring him back for some answers and all the manager asked was if I wanted my money back, or to "exchange" him for a new one. There is no "exchange" for a pets life. I was given no goodbye. They just walked off with him in a box and said somebody else would handle my decision. Maybe a little care from a store that handles pets would be helpful.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I did not have to go find someone to help me. They were right there!! I will be going to Petco for all my pet needs. Please thank the young man in the fish department who was patient and really helped me. The cashier was friendly and went out of her way to explain the benefits of being a Petco customer. Cant thank you enough for the wonderful experience!

I love petco you guys always have everything I need I just hate how it can be a little pricey so I only come when I know I'll have a lot of money to spend

I quite like this store. If you're looking for fish in Bloomington, this is the place to go. The food selection is ENORMOUS.

Store employees are very friendly. Employees are really working hard to keep the general public stocked up on food and supplies. Keep up the good work!

I haven't shopped here in quite a long time. I used to come here regularly because they carried hard to find brands. Years ago they changed their line of dog chews, which my dogs didn't like nearly as much. On this visit I looked for a treat ball. Their selection is incredibly sparse. I left empty handed.I found 2 very good and very different ones at Menards. There also seems to be no person monitoring for face masks. I saw a guy walk in, look around, and just put his shirt over his mouth. This place ain't what it used to be.

Hit and miss but the customer service from my last visit was incredible. Megan was incredibly helpful and knowledgable.

I always enjoy shopping at the local Petco store. I have a slight concern that the specific type of canned cat food that both of my cats will eat is often either sold out or available in limited supply. The food is Wellness Minced Tuna. Gravies Tuna will also be OK, but it also is often sold out or in short supply. Those seem to be the specific types of canned Wellness brand food that sells very well, so I hope that the store will make the necessary adjustments in their ordering. Otherwise, it's always a pleasure to shop there. I prefer Petco over the other local competitors.

I like the people at the store. Clean and organized. Always helpful p[people.

Good place to take your dog. You can return online purchases in store...but needs more harnesses for small and extra small dogs

Great grooming and shopping experience! My pup hates getting his nails trimmed but the staff was great and very helpful and he had no problems.

I have a cat and I pretty much have to go to an actual pet store to get her anything cooler than a scratching post and a squeaky toy (why are dog supplies so much more available??).

I really like it. Awesome selection (for a cat anyway) and lots of toys and cat furniture. The employees I've met always seem enthusiastic and love animals and I've never seen anyone bored staring at a clock.

If you have a cat, bird, fish, rabbit, guinea pig, rat, hamster, dog, or even bigger animals there is definitely something for you.

Their convenient, have what I need, and their staff are always welcoming and knowledgeable.

High priced live stock prices. On line animal ordering shipping costs way higher than any other fish store. They need to look at ship to store free like other successful competitors.

I stood around for 30 minutes waiting for someone to help with crickets, and I eventually realized that they were all dead. I ended up getting mealworms and extremely overpriced dubia roaches.

But the fish tanks are cheap. So I guess that's a plus.

When I order things online, sometimes I don't get all the items I had in my cart. Although this might be the fault of the website rather than this particular location.

Update: I also waited over an hour for help with fish.
Despite me having to resort to asking the people at the cashier for help, multiple times, no one ended up helping.
Many of the fish are infected with ich. Only buy fish here as a last resort.

All reptile and aquarium products are also overpriced compared to what you could find on Amazon or Walmart. The only thing that should be purchased at Petco is empty tanks (the 1$ per gallon deal is great).
Petsmart generally has much better prices in almost all categories.

Had dog nails clipped and a bath for energetic pup. All went well.

Even if this was not the only decent option for a fish and reef store, in Bloomington, I would likely still go here. The staff know what they are doing, have a passion and advanced knowledge for/of fish and aquariums.
The prices are average for everything, though I got 3 bristlenose plecos for $3 a piece today. While small and young, that is still a killer deal.
I have never had an issue with invasive snails popping up, and my plants are clean and healthy.
They even get some more uncommon specimen from time to time.
Best source of liverock and frags, in town; otherwise, be prepare to drive to Terre Haute for Inland Aquatics, or to Indy for Premium Aquatics.

Petco has a kick ass aquarium section.

I have really enjoyed shopping at PetCo. It is on the opposite part of town for me but I make the drive because I really like the selection, the staff are extremely friendly and I appreciate that as a rewards member, I see savings right away.

Petco is a national chain. This location is clean and seems well stocked. Employees are helpful.

The staff is very friendly and the store is easy to navigate.

No help when looking for an item...and this story is also so much more expensive than Petsmart......

This is the Petco I usually visit. The animals are clean and seem healthy. And they let us see the cats. They have decorated their tanks very creatively.

It was my first time in the store and found what I needed for my dog and got aigned up for your rewards program. The lady that checked us out was nice and helped in anyway she could.

Recently purchased a bearded dragon from here. Ended up having yellow fungus so had to return which was a big bummer...had a little bond with the fella of course so that stunk. If judging me for the return, research yellow fungus. Anyway, they honored their 30 day exchange policy but let me tell ya, this manager has no business running a pet store. She treated this transaction like we were dealing with a defective electronic device or something other than a living pet. I'm big on how people treat others and it was just a big put-off for me. Again, they did give me 20% off some items I needed to buy again because the used stuff was contaminated and I had to bleach everything that I didn't replace. So, they still got more money out of me and not once did I get an apology from the manager. Took 8 hours to do a proper decontamination. Just did not care for the experience.

Clean, well stocked good selections. Well organised store. Really like the workers too.

I buy crickets here for my gecko, it's quick and cheap

The stock was varied and of good quality but I found it difficult to find things since there is little signage. For instance I didn't realize that the cat products were to the left as I came in and that the dog products were to the right. I wasted a lot of time searching and then when I got to the dog section there were absolutely no signs saying where the types of products were shelved. That is a serious mistake. Unless you shop there continually finding things is quite difficult.

Almost everything you need for your little furry (or swimmy, or flighty) friend. Chill people, good vibes.

The grooming for our dog is great and the price is on par with other places.
