This is one of my favourite places, where friends & family always have a lovely time to enjoy fresh local produce & wine. The wine line list is extensive, over 400 which change frequently & cover the regional, state, Australian & international wines.
The opportunity to pay as you go, whereby you can taste test a wine (a minimal amount), buy 1/2 a glass or a full one, or none enjoy a non alcoholic beverage.
The platter options are excellent & the atmosphere & staff are lovely.

Lunch today - booked table for 2.15pm, staff very helpful and customer service good. Selected table outside - great location although for the outside tables it would be good to have something to block off traffic noise & view through the path to Hackney road.
French waitress very efficient polite and helpful. And that is all the positives I can give about this experience. We orders the lunch time special of spaghetti with crab. Mistake. This dish came out with loads thick tagliatelle, no taste in tomatoes, no sauce, no pepper and was bland and tasteless. This dish is all about the crab - not the spaghetti .. which wasn t served they used thick tagliatelle which is never used for this dish.
The special included a Glass of wine which was listed as a Tim Adams Riesling - I dont drink Reisling and was very disappointed that there couldn t be a choice of maybe a Sav Blanc Or Pinot Gris - after all .. this is the Wine Centre ! Very disappointing experience - for an incredible location - doubt if we will be back for anything more than a glass of wine.

Very disappointed visiting this place as a walk in tourist. I think it is more geared to groups, conventions etc. The display gallery is very dated and uninspiring, and the process for wine tasting is very confusing. Although a staff member in another area explained where to go and what to do, when we went to the tasting area there was no written explanation of how to go about it and the one person there who seemed to be a staff member spent his entire time indulging one client whilst totally ignoring everyone else who walked in and out. Architecturally a nice building in a lovely area, it could really be used more productively as a place of introduction to the local wine industry for visitors to South Australia. As it is, I can only say go direct to the vineyards, if you have the time to venture further afield than just Adelaide city.

Am well over 60, know my wine and Australia really well, and was very disappointed by this place.

Either 2 or 3 star. Very over rated. The simple displays on the upper level feel as though they've been designed for children.
Rather than some sort of wine education that would add to my knowledge......which is what I had been expecting to a large extent, we found many people enjoying Xmas food and wine, essentially a couple of large Xmas long lunches. The place is more of a convention centre with a feel good of having 100s of wine bottles in close proximity. That's all it is.
Yes, one can taste many Difft wines, but there is little explanation of much use, and pay a HIGH price for the pleasure of tasting.

This place I found to be simply a nice looking convention centre in a nice location. National Wine Centre....I don't think so, but I suppose the meaning of the name is debatable. If they want this wrap tho, in my opinion, then the whole display area needs a complete redesign by someone who understands all the principles involved, and in a way that will draw people in. Nobody else was there, and the centre needs staff who really know there stuff. The service provided to us was also rather ordinary. Unable to answer any sort of detailed question based on whom I spoke to.

Was here for a presentation dinner and it was a great night. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. There was a good range of drinks offered with the package.

Mostly the stand out factor were the staff who were professional and exceedingly helpful.

Food was good, staff were friendly but a bit useless. Waited 10 minutes for a glass of wine and a beer, went back to ask and got some random excuse about why it hadn't come out. Then came the glass of wine, no beer. Asked about the beer and there was 'an issue' with it. Came out quickly after.

I wanted to say bad things but being from a F&B background I also understand that things don't always go exactly how it was planned so I will ignore my F&B point of view. My dish the Lamb shoulder and pea risotto was amazing, my wife's mushroom lasagna was not nice. Wines are amazing and so is the venue although it was freezing inside. (Yes, I get it. Because of the wine storage.)

My partner and I went on the self guided tour, and even without a guide it was highly informative and interesting. The wine cafe/bar provided a classy way to complete the afternoon with an astonishing selection of Australian wines as well as sweet and savoury foods.

This place should be called The National Wine & Food Centre. Oh my goodness, the lunches here are so unbelievably delicious, well priced & great variety. Then to be educated, surprised & inspired by Amir the wine guru in the tasting area & Amanda during the wine tour - this is a fantastic, must-do experience in Adelaide. 10/10!!

I d been at this centre for a conference. The facility is very good for holding events and programs. The centre has so many rooms for setting up multiple information sessions subsequently. There are areas for recreation and wine tasting too.

Went here for a work event. The food was great and the service by the staff was excellent. They had a great selection of wines to choose from. They have large and small rooms for various occasions and it provides for an excellent place to conduct training or any other event.
