I gave this five stars because this is definitely a great place to go for anybody there are so many awesome museums to see and they are free admission. My two favorites are the National Air and Space Museum and also the national museum of natural history both of which are amazing. It is so fun to walk in this National Mall and see all the monuments as well and we just went yesterday and I have not seen this before but there was so many food trucks there and we actually found some quesadillas and they were absolutely amazing and the price was very good compared to the cafeteria is inside the Museum's so that is a good tip. A block or two behind the air and space museum there are some parking garages where I normally park for about $16 for the entire day so you know your car is safe and it is a five-minute walk from the National Mall and you can get to Interstate 395 from there in about 3 or 4 minutes so that is where I like to park myself.

What a beautiful place. A wintertime visit to the city allows you to enjoy the night lights relatively early which are spectacular. It had been a while since I'd visited and I was amazed with the cleanliness of the place. Lots of scooters and bikes going around but mostly respectful and out of the way.

If you are going to visit USA just 2 days for new York and 5 days for Washington as just opposite of of majority of people. Because there is nothing special at NY but DC with every single steps can fascinated you. Also cheaper and almost every museum is free.

I ve walked through the National Mall on several occasions. It s beautiful space, from the reflecting pool to the base of the Washington monument. The space can hold large crowds although some people overestimate crowd size here.

The shear scale of it is mindblowing. The long walks between the different edifices are great for taking in the scenery and really appreciate the beauty of the place. The Lincoln memorial, Washington monument, Capitol building... All amazing and worth the time.

This was my second trip this year. The first time was great! This time was eh. I think it's due to the time of year. Way to many tourists for my liking, there was trash all over. They had waste bins ....but they were over flowing. Parking was difficult to find. I think I'll wait for a re visit after the summer.

Awesome as always! We we're lost and Capitol Police officer Richard Nichols took the time to take us to our destination and chat with us about his favorite sites on the way. We were grateful and it really made our day.

Great for walking and photos. The food trucks offer a break along the way for snacks, ice cream, etc. The bikeshare and scooters are an efficient alternative to walking. Recommend downloading the apps beforehand. Or make sure you have space on your phone

Memorials inscribed of name of soldiers who survived and who has fallen. Beautiful and serene atmosphere. For those who love history its a sad and beautiful experience. Most memorials have been restored or are fairly new. Parking is available but you must walk to the memorials. Some memorials have steps and are not wheelchair accessible. During my visit I officiated a Wedding(you can visit my website by tapping the link below) and I saw people jogging, sightseeing, riding scooters and playing Frisbee. I also saw police officers on horses strolling pass. Streets are busy with thorough traffic but please do not hold up a lane to sightsee. Just park and go! Usually busy however due to the pandemic it's not packed.

Just a beautiful place to soak in all of DC's best museums, most of them free, and enjoy the sights of the Capital and Washington Monument. Easy subway access, lots of food and drink available, and you can learn so much about our country just checking out the gardens on your walk.

This is always a place of inspiration and reflection. To see all the memorials and visit all of the FREE museums connected to the Mall one must allow several days and be wearing a very good pair of walking shoes. No matter how many times I visit here I leave feeling inspired with the knowledge that there is no other place anywhere that offers a better taste of history and culture.

It's really nice to go at nice. Just kind of a different experience with all the lights lighting up the monuments. I've been many times during the daytime but this was my first time going late at night and I was impressed with how many people were still there so late at night. It's quite the place to visit.

Make sure to wear comfy shoes. Appearance is deceptive in regards to how far apart everything is located. Lincoln to the Capitol is 2.25 miles. If you start at the Lincoln and walk to the Capitol it is closer to a metro stop at the end. Going the other way means making a round trip to get back to a stop.

Just love The National Mall any day, any time, even any weather. Always active with people, kids and dog walkers, bicyclists and scooters. The carousel, the sculptures and the grand buildings and monuments in every direction!

always nice to visit the National Mall. Haven't been there in years. Lots of History lots of great architecture lots of people lots of food vendors. We were there during a giant Latino parade and celebration. What an interesting time out. But highly recommend swinging by whenever you're in DC and minimally take in the Washington Monument, national art museum and the Indian museum.

Definitely one of the most iconic places around the world, hopefully you have this in your "bucket list" on places that you should visit! Be prepare for a good walk! (Around 6 to 8 miles) you could also rent a bycicle or scooter to make it easier, or you can also buy a tour, it's beautiful everywhere you go, most of the memorials are here so try to organized your schedule and come early, each memorial has there own gift shop

Our countries capital can be amazing. It can also be a busy cluster and super hot n muggy. However the early spring and fall can be epic. Low crowds and some awesome weather. We borrowed hotel bikes and rode all around. I highly recommend bikes as walking can be slow and far. All the memorials are excellent and very meaningful. I recommend breaking it up into two days but you can do them all in one day. Don't forget about all the free museum's and wonderful restaurants. Be kind to one another and enjoy!

Lots and lots of walking for one day. If you want to visit DC make sure you have more than a day. Lots of things to watch and enjoy the whole area. Don't miss the street food because that's awesome. You can see the Washington Monument far from the street. Everyone enjoyed a lot but made us so tried.

Vast area , losts to see and do, the muesuems are quite aways apart, so I'd recommend walking quickly if your time is limited. Food consessions are very pricey though, it's $11 just for a hotdog so I'd maybe pack something if your not looking to lose a couple of $20's.

Let me tell you when you are out of shape the museum is a hard walk. But once you go through the different floors and see the wonders of all that is in there you are amazed. The prices for some of the items and food is WAY UP THERE IN PRICE. BUT unlike New York museums that charge for admission. Your not missing out. The museums are at place of wonder amazement but all that comes at a cost. Well worth it.

This is a GREAT place to visit. The popular museums are clustered together, so it's easy walking but on most days parking is difficult. I would recommend using the metro or plan ahead to use a parking garage.
