National Fitness Center Review

I have been going faithfully to National fitness since February. I like to personally thank Chuck Rentz , Erin Palko and Jt for helping me get familer with the gym and with the many different programs that offer here. Erin is over the Personal training program I appreciate her getting me on with a Personal Trainer who TJ who is helping me to become a better version of myself. These guys really rock and are the best in providing the help and information needed to reach physical fitness goals

Great atmosphere and a welcoming staff!
I really like the cardio theater and multiple pools. That adds something you don't normally see in gyms in the Knoxville area.

Ryne Roberts is the best personal trainer and PHIIT instructor.

dirty and sooo much chlorine in lap pool. coach amy is a great swim coach however!

NFC is the greatest gym ever. The Zumba instructor is awesome. Rebecca s energy is amazing. She makes Zumba feel like we aren t exercising and that we re having fun. I Feed off her energy when i get tired and it gives me extra energy

Denise Nelson is one of the best trainer's around. She was my trainer for over three years, and we developed a great friendship. She is always great to be around, and really cares about you as a person. I highly recommend her to any one who needs a trainer.

So I have been a member for 5 yrs and I went in to workout and my auto draft card(I rarely use) was declined due to me getting a new one in the mail. So they told me I have to pay a $35 late fee even though I ve been a member and never missed a payment and told me I wasn t allowed to workout even though I updated my card expiration date with them. BC I owed them money . Do not join this place it s a trap, they bill the deceased, look it up. Golds gym was much more user friendly. NFC SUCKS!!

Usually over crowded, but the biggest thing is the hassle to get out of their contract. They make it difficult to do so. My girlfriend cancelled her membership after it expired and had not been to National Fitness i over 6 months. Then she started receiving bills like she had not cancelled and they are now hounding her for $$$. The staff is also rude.

I love the gym but I hate that I have to sign a 3 year contract this will be my last year at the gym I will miss it terribly but I can t commit to that again

New member just signed up. Every person from the managers to the cleaning staff were professional, courteous and friendly. This is a large facility with a lot of equipment that is well maintained. There is plenty of space to work out. The cardio movie theater, track and boxing area are my favorite amenities.

My family loves NFC Signature Club. Even on the days I'm tired, my 8 year old motivates me to go so she can attend Kids In Motion. Rebecca rocks the Zumba classes on Monday and Tuesday, definitely my favorite class!

I want to start by saying the staff at the Signature Club is amazing!! Paul and all the instructors are fantastic! The facility is beautiful and well kept. The childcare was top notch when my children had to use it!!

My problem is with the billing center.. I called July 2016 to inquire about my contract, specifically when it ended. I was told October of 2017 was the last month and I needed to cancel 30 days ahead of time. I put an alert in my phone for Sept. 5th to call back to get instructions on what I needed to do to cancel. When I called today I was told I have been month to month since February 2017...This of course made no sense since I called in July to make sure I had all the correct information....In 2015 I signed up for PHITT classes. I knew this would add 49.00 but WAS TOLD THAT IT DID NOT EXTEND MY ORIGINAL CONTRACT(they were running a special and it did not matter if you are a member or not). Mind you NONE of this was explained when I called in July 2016 to find out when the contact ended. Today I was informed that my contract cannot be canceled until the HITT classes contract runs out, so everything I was told when I signed up for the special and everything that I was told by the billing center was not true. The reason this bothers me so badly is because I have been a member of this gym for years. I was a member when it was still in the old building. I have recruited many members and said nothing but great things about this gym and its amenities. I feel like I was lied to and taken advantage of and to me that is not okay. I will never recommend this gym due to the way this was handled and the Customer Service. You do not value your loyal customers!!

Rebecca is the best Zumba instructor in town. The BEST!!!! Her Monday and Wednesday night Zumba classes at NFC Signature Club are awesome! She is a rock star of ZUMBA!!!

My daughter's wallet with money, credit and ATM cards, documents and keys has been stolen in this place. STAY AWAY !!!!!

I ve been with National Fitness Signature club since day 1. Hands down the cleanest most family oriented gym in Knoxville. Highly recommended

I love all the options provided at the gym and my trainer Cara has been awesome! I only left 4 stars because the cost of a 30 minute training session is a little high in my opinion. That is about the only thing i would change.

I will never again do business with NFC or any company using NFC billing service. Their long history of horrendously deceptive and abusive business practices speaks volumes about how little NFC values customers. Customers are nothing more than a $. Regardless of promises or assurances from staff about ease of cancellation, once the hooks are in, NFC will fight to continue leeching every last penny.

My wife was a dependable low-maintenance customer; and, despite usage waning considerably over the 2+ years, we never tried to get out of the contract. We were only in TN for grad school, so she made sure to ask about cancellation policy, only joining once assured we could if moving. We both finished school and she accepted a job offer in mid-March to begin 1 April. She notified NFC of need to enact the cancellation policy and provided them with her official federal employment contract. Then all the problems arose. Since then, NFC has continued to manufacture ridiculous excuses to refuse our $289.90 cancellation payment and continue adding illegitimate fees to keep us from cancelling.

NFC has proven to have no regard for customers or truly honoring their contracts/clauses. Their ultimate goal appears to be putting forth any inane excuse to continue sucking every penny they can from customers with no regard for basic reason, humanity, or customer service. This situation is echoed repeatedly across multiple consumer protection and rating sites. This is completely feckless and unacceptable business practice. NFC is a chronic bad actor, one which I believe deserves to be the recipient of a class action suit.

I personally love to workout on my own and do the BodyJam classes at the Tazwell location but Jo s classes have changed my family s lives! They constantly attend Zumba, Strong, Combat, etc. with her and look forward to going to it every day! I couldn t be more thankful to her for it! She s so fun and high energy!

1 star is too much for a business like this one.
Nice gym and staff at the Morristown location. However, I had to move for work last November 2018 and they corporate requires you to jump through hoops to get out of the contract. A lot of mailing in stuff etc. on top of the couple hundred cancellation charge. Once you move out of state you are extremely busy and it s nearly impossible to satisfy their contract requirements to cancel. You should be able to just call speak to someone regarding cancelling, pay the couple hundred fee, and email a copy of your lease agreement, paystub etc. and be done. That s not the case with this business. They have no morals and are only concerned with how much money they can squeeze out of everyone and how difficult they can make cancelling for you if you do move. For me, it s not so much about the money as it is just the common decency and morals of the company as a whole. With that being said, if your looking for a gym to start going to, do not go to this one. Find one that actually values you as a customer/person and not just your the customers money and how much they can control/make difficult via their contract.

I recent moved and a National Fitness Center is no longer located in my area. When I called to cancel my membership the individual I spoke with was extremely rude. She advised I would have to pay $195.00 to cancel, even though I can no longer use the facilities. Luckily my membership is up in August. I would not recommend getting locked into a contact for 3+ years. It is not worth it. It is overly priced and can find the same equipment elsewhere for half the price.

Recently I decided it was time to get serious about my health and overall wellness. When considering the best way to jumpstart this journey, finding a place with a pool was priority one. My daughter suggested we visit National Fitness Center and after being given an initial tour, the decision to join was easy. The staff is personable and professional ... a great reflection of [the manager] Paul Watson s leadership. He has an open door policy, a ready smile, and true desire to serve the membership. It s a wonderful experience to work out in an environment like this and if you re looking for an affordable way to improve in physical fitness, consider stopping by here and see everything this club offers; you won t regret it.

The people in the front desk is so rude. They don't say hi, or do you need something, or good bye. They were looking somewhere else talking while I was waiting to talk to them about a question I had and no one wanted to do anything. Also when I leave they kept staring at me but they never say good bye. That's so disappointed.

I have been a member of Court South and now National Fitness club for almost 18 years. I just have nothing but great things to say about the clubs, the staff and all the fitness group instructors. Everyone is so dedicated to the goal of fitness. I used to come to workout only once or twice a week, but after the West signature club opened up, I love the facility so much I started to come almost daily. I have tried almost all the group fitness classes that are offered in the West club. Loved every instructor and every class there: Andrea, Mary, Lisa, Niya, Geena, Elizabeth, Melanie, Jo, Danielle...are just few of great instructors that I take classes from. The current managerial team is also unbelievable, very friendly and easy to communicate with. I have visited many other clubs over the years, but NFC is definitely the best of all the fitness clubs in Knoxville. The only negative part about NFC is the long term 3 year contract. I do think it is better to have one year contract so people are not afraid to join and to make it easier on people who need to move.

I love National Fitness Center! It is a God send in my life. Knowing that I can bring my grand daughter to a happy healthy place to enjoy swimming with her then while she s playing with gym friends at no extra cost Nana gets to work out is such a blessing! National Fitness Center has went the extra mile to be a place for family health and nourishment that I never would have thought a gym could be. I also love the many locations for my schedual convenience. And the management at Signature Club and Maryville Gym are truly exceptional. Very upbeat and positive always friendly and kind, and maticulous about having a clean gym, fantastic staff, great machines, and just absolutely the very best facility for their guests. Thank you National Fitness for being one of the best parts of my life. Keep up the good work your running the race well!

Great place to work out because they have a daycare. We ve never had any issues and we ve been members for over 3 years.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!! My boyfriend joined this gym when we lived in Knoxville and now we live in Fort Wayne, Indiana where there is no national fitness center. When he joined the gym he was told he could cancel at anytime with a fee of $200 which he could pay over the course of a couple months. They want a hand written letter from his boss, proof of residence, proof of income and $200, just to cancel a gym membership. If you join this gym make sure you read the contract because you re basically signing away your soul and the people at the front desk aren t going to tell you what you re signing up for.

I changed my payment method because I got a new debit card. After only one failed attempt on my old card (the correspondence they sent me by email said 3), I was charged a $30.00 return payment fee. I called member services to get it straightened out, and they refused to refund the $30.00 and the customer account rep was very rude. This is the second time this has happened in 2 years. In addition, Ever since losing their lead setter over 6 months ago, their climbing wall is a total mess with little to no complete marked routes or direction. The climbing wall was the reason I joined in the first place. I am extremely unhappy with National Fitness, their customer service, and their attention to gym maintenance. If I could cancel at all, without moving, I would pay whatever it took. Be wary of locking into a 3 year contract with this gym. This is corporate gym mentality at its worst.

So happy that my kids and I joined National Fitness - they have so much to offer - I have loved learning to use the machines and I love the selection of classes! The Kids in Motion program is awesome and my kids love it - they would rather take a class than play video games! I love training with DENISE - she is very supportive and is a great motivator - works you hard while having fun!

I have been a member for 7 years. The facilities were great before, and fantastic now. However, the staff and instructors are the ones who rock this place. Kudos to the great team work! A special thanks to Paul, Sidney , OJ - the best Yoga instructor ever, and Jo, whose expertise, charisma, and caring captivate us all. I have to say that Strong by Zumba with Jo is my favorite fitness class: very athletic, and taught with perfect technique and endless enthusiasm. Love you guys!!!

As an employee and frequent flyer off the clock, I've absolutely loved my time at NFC West. The aquatics area is where I spend all my time. It's always clean and well kept. And the other aquatics staff members are always nothing but friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend joining and becoming a part of the NFC family!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment and machines are clean and always in good working order, and there are enough options available that, even when something I wanted to use was in use, there were other similar things to do.

Having a rock wall to climb is a huge bonus and, honestly, something that helped make up my mind to join. The pools and saunas are perfect to unwind afterwards, too.

This club is amazing!!! My whole family loves it!! Classes are great Zumba with Rebecca, trainers are great Will Dorsey, love the staff!

I paid this place for 3 years an extra $30 because they lied at the beginning. Admitted they lied and still said oh well you signed. All I will say is ask current and former members before you sign up here

Paul worked with us on offering something that we might like better contract wise and we ended up signing up because to be honest you will get best value for your money than any other health center. Again the only downside is the contact. Kids loving the children s pool, I love track on the second floor and woman s only work out room. Child watch staff is very nice and some of them are very helpful ( I was very nervous leaving my kids because they ve never been away from me like that, but adjustment went well for all of us)
Most everything is the way I d expect it to be. The only note is family changing rooms!!! It seriously needs more hooks to hang your stuff on and another chair or something. No where to put our stuff so I have to put my duffel bag over the sink. :/
Anyways overall it s a great place I just hope we ll never get to find any negative parts if for whatever reason we have to stop coming there.

I love this fitness club! Rebecca Maldonado and her Zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays are what keep me SO PUMPED! Rebecca's energy is contagious and she makes working out FUN! I could not have had the success I've enjoyed -in my weight loss journey- without her. I believe that with all my heart. Thank you, National Fitness, for employing fitness instructors who actually make burning up to 900 calories in an hour so FUN!!

My family and I are NOT lifetime members of National Fitness...we are 3 year members due to our mandatory 3 year contract. The facility itself is well maintained and clean however i will say dont walk in there expecting smiling faces with a warm welcome because that has never happened to me and I'm in my last year of my contract. The front desk does not greet you, and typically does not even look at you, they stand around talking to each other or looking at their cell phones. A rude staff is fine, however not having the flexibility of what month i am able to go or not makes me angry. Since joining we have added another child to our family and moved further west to Lenoir City which makes our gym time far and very very few between. We spoke with management regarding our concern however they dismissed it because we did not move far enough away. I am not a satisfied customer/member and i will not be returning to the organization nor will i ever recommend it to anyone. So we will continue to pay for a gym that we do not use because management is not understanding and they are not willing to work with us.
PS if you have kids and you get excited about the kids area upon your initial tour of the facility dont get too excited. if you do not pay the extra $$$ for kids in motion your child will be stuck in a room with a few tables and game consoles, and half of the time the consoles dont work and the staff is not very nice to our son.

Rebecca's Zumba class is one of the best workouts I've ever had! I love her energy and enuthiasm! She truly is an inspiration. Great addition to the NFC team.

If you're looking for someone to smile at you while they take advantage of you and lie to get you to sign a contract, then you're in the right place. One of the absolute worst companies i've had to deal with to date. I know this is going to sound like a rant from an annoyed customer, but please take this review seriously as I am not manipulating any of the details to make them sound any worse than they are. Also the clubs, even though they do have the same name and same owners and same contracts and same accounts, are not connected so don't expect to be able to get into another after signing up at one (you know, like every other gym in the history of time).
Not willing to budge on "policy" or work with their loyal customers who keep them in business. You'll get a nice and friendly "sorry there's nothing we can do" from them. That's about it.
The manager was very willing to use the old "I wasn't there so I can't comment on this" when confronting them about a lie one of the sales reps told. As well as the "well you've already signed a contract so there's nothing we can do" and will refuse to let you out even if you did sign under false pretenses. They even suggested I keep my current contract (because they refused to let me out of it) and sign an additional contract to get what i was looking for (meaning two contracts and more than twice the monthly fee). I mean the audacity you have to have to say that to someone in a friendly and serious tone is beyond anything I can comprehend. Have you no moral compass? Are you that willing to step on people and take advantage of them?
I assure you that you will end up having an issue with this club at some point during your membership. A company with this kind of business practices should not be allowed to continue to exist. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else so this company can deteriorate into the disgusting scum of the earth that it so perfectly embodies.

We ve been members at this gym for over a year and the facility itself is fine. However, the employees here are another story. We pay $65 a month for our membership which is about $800 a year. Last week, my husband was followed into the locker room and accused of STEALING a water bottle ! A bottle that we brought from home and a brand the gym doesn t even sell. Seriously it was pathetic. On top of that the receptionists are so uptight about the membership cards when my husband or I happens to not have one of ours. We always scan atleast one and we are on the same account, I m positive both our pictures show up when we scan. They make a big deal and are always ready to sell you a new card for $10.

Lovvveeee National Fitness and so do my children!!! It s a family oriented environment, they have EVERYTHING you need!!!!! I d give ten stars if I could!!

Overall the gym itself is okay. But I was a
former member of Golds Gym and when it closed its Alcoa location at the end of May, our memberships were bought out by National Fitness. I was ensured by both Golds Gym and National Fitness that I would be able to use both the Maryville and Knoxville locations. I live in Knoxville and work out in Maryville so having this available was my best option. Long story short, I have been using the Knoxville location at least 2-3 times a week since my membership was bought by National Fitness and on August 28 when I tried to check it, they stopped me at the front desk and told me I was no longer allowed to workout there without upgrading my membership. When I asked to speak with somebody in charge of the gym, he told me there was no one I could talk to and gave me a card to call member services. I don t understand how I have been using the gym for almost 3 months and now out of nowhere and with no warning they want me to pay an extra $15 a month to use the gym. This is the worst business I have ever had with a gym and I have been to many gyms over the past ten years or so. Be very wary of signing a contract at this gym because now I am even having issues cancelling my membership so I can change to one of the other chains with gyms in both Knoxville and Maryville. If I knew this was going to happen, I would have just kept my Golds Gym membership active and just worked out in Knoxville.

If your not going to open on Thanksgiving then post you're closed not opened at 5.am to 12:00 with hours may very. I would like to give a big Thanks to Gold's Gym for being open when they say and allowing a nonmember to workout.

NCF is a great place to work out! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I personally love Jo s classes. She s always happy, a positive attitude and cheerful with members and knows how to put a smile on someone s face! She makes everybody in the class feel welcomed! She teaches just about everything which makes it convenient to go to any classes offered. I d recommend her classes to anyone! She s an amazing instructor!

The facility is really good and the staff are great. There is a good variety of weights and systems as well as classes. The lockerrooms are usually pretty clean. The Signature club is huge, but can be crowded during peak times.

I went into national fitness dor a tour and was completely taken back by what tbey offer and i just had to sign up and become a member that day. I would recommend this gym to anyone!!

Was a member there for years and years. Spent thousands of dollars on Personal Training when the trainers would actually show up some just up and quit. I tried to be very understanding but last year my credit card expired and I called member services to give them a new CC number. They were extremely rude and told me I had a $30 fee. I asked them if they could wave the fee since I was signing up for $2,500 worth of training that night at the North Club. Got a rude response so I paid the fee and then canceled my membership and my training since I wasn't under a contract anymore. Unbelievable!

Like the new club for the most part. Facilities are great. However, some issues...the locker room set up is totally wrong...too little area to sit and change..they need to take out lockers and add a long stationary bench to sit and change on. The current set up make things a little "too close for comfort" when changing. Secondly, and most importantly, despite posted rules, I've noticed recently many kids playing in the therapy pool and in the whirlpool area. Either the clientele have trouble reading English, or they refuse to go by the rules. I've noticed that once one parent has a kid in the therapy pool, then others think it okay, and next thing it becomes a kiddie pool (with water guns and even floats), which there already, a very large one with slides. The front desk area seems to have an abundance of employees...it only takes two people to make protein shakes and check members in.How about having an employee doing a pool patrol every 20 minutes or a floor walker to make sure club rules are being followed. We don't want the total opposite either , a fascist, unfriendly club either, just the posted rules obeyed and enforced.

Follow up, management replied to my issue with the pools promptly, and since then I have seen the pool situation get better. I'll give them a star for that. Still wish something could be done with the close quarter locker room situation...others I've talked to find the changing area confining and limit changing when more than two are in that area.

I never used to be a person to have motivation to go to the gym until I started taking Jo's classes. I first started taking her Zumba class, and I have tried every other Zumba instructor, but she is BY FAR the best! She plays all different styles of music to accommodate each person and culture. She will take requests of songs and make up choreography for anyone! She is amazing and very welcoming. Her class is very diverse compared to other classes. I also love her Strong By Zumba class and Body Combat!!! They are both high intensity classes that keep me motivated to keep going to the gym and help me tone my body. She is so welcoming and she does her very best in each class, showing multiple options for different levels of intensity. She makes high intensity workouts very enjoyable! The gym overall is very clean and nice and most of the staff are very friendly. They also have a bunch of nice amenities, including a women's only gym room which is amazing!

Rebecca is the Best Zumba Instructor EVER!! I love love love her class and wouldn't miss it! She's an Inspiration!! Thank you Rebecca for the first time I actually love to exercise!!

I have the best Personal trainer, John Fabriziuz, he ensures I am doing all the movements correctly. he's awesome.

This place is great. I had an issue today when I called in and emailed the manager about it. He responded within an HOUR, was amazing courteous, and helped me iron it out. I know everyone keeps saying this gym is predatory when it comes to memberships, but I have thus far had the exact opposite experience. They've always been very open to working with me and I've found it entirely worth it to renew a contract. Thanks, Paul and all the great employees there.

I have been a member for over 10 years but was never a gym/workout person.
One day, about a year ago, I took one of Jo s classes. This was when I did a total 360, like my daughters say. I have ever since been taking ALL her classes, from Zumba to Body Combat , Strong and at some point even Body Pump and Step . She just teaches it all and with such a passion. Jo coaches very well and offers lower impact options in all classes suitable for all fitness levels, you pick your level. Highly appreciated are also her safety tips and what NOT to do in order not to get hurt during your workout.
I have become very motivated to go to the gym almost every day and have lost 40 lbs just by doing my GX classes with her. Jo s classes with her welcoming and energetic spirit are a huge factor of my transformation.

STAY AWAY, everything at this gym was great at first, then I met a man who worked there, his name was Brandan and he is an assistant front desk manager. This man, is the reason why I sold my membership, (it's a 3 year contract). He is a very sick perverted man, and I am ashamed that this place would ever have him work there. He sexually harressed me, even while he was married, and continues to make women feel very uncomfortable I hear still. He is the reason, why me, and multiple of my friends left. He is very creepy, and if you ever think about joining national fittness center, DONT, because they hire people like him, and there's a lot more that work there similar to him, you will be in danger if you get a membership here because of him, female, or even male from multiple accounts! If I am further contacted by him I will be pursuing a lawyer.

Solid fitness center. I was traveling out of town. I normally use a YMCA since I work for one in NC. The really cool thing that NFC has is their cardio room theatre! Giant movie screen with cardio equipment in the dark. Not a fan of their barbell area and wouldn't recommend that section. They have a cool circuit area that is timed for 30 mins - do the machines in any order as the clock counts down. Their locker rooms are nice and clean. I know my friend enjoys their climbing wall! They had a punching bag area. The personal training rooms looked fantastic!

This is a great place to workout. They have everything you need. Zumba classes with Rebecca are always fun, energetic and will make you sweat!

My son and I were treated VERY rude today by staff as we arrived. Once we finally got past that unnecessary fiasco we made our way to the pool. The slides at the pool have algae all over them as usual. Its obvious they' don't clean anything in the pool area. Then an employee made a huge scene because we couldn't wear our masks as we were leaving because they had gotten wet at the pool. We couldn't breathe through wet masks. What were we supposed to do? Sit there as prisoners until our masks dried out?

This gym has great features. I like that they have a red light therapy booth and an exercise movie theater. A 3 year commitment is much too long.

Rebecca's Zumba class is a great work out and it is so much fun! Also, Ryne's Phiit classes really push me. I have become so much stronger and accomplished more than I ever thought I could.

I train with Ryne Roberts and have had great results. He is very informative and detailed when it comes to diet and exercise.

If I could give less than one star, I would. I moved to Knoxville a year ago and joined NFC because it's really the only somewhat decent gym in town. I understand that I signed a 3 year contract, but I was transferred to Nashville. I paid the cancellation fee, but was required to show a paystub with my new employer's address before I even started at my new job. Therefore, I had to be away for Knoxville one month before I could give 30 days notice. It's ridiculous.
Not to mention, while I was a member, the gym was sub-par. The maintenance was almost none. For as much as they charge, they should have better equipment. The customer service is great until they get your money and then, good luck getting any help, with anything.
In hindsight, I would have joined Planet Fitness instead.

You think the locker rooms are safe? No they are not, don't leave anything. And the NFC does nit care at all.
Other than that is a good gym.

Worst gym I have been a member at! Guess they got me for 3 years but I will update review during that time. Get you to join and then try to sell you every minute of your life. Worse than a time share. With that said pros are lots of equipment and classes. Very clean facilities but not people. Only about 30 percent of people know how to use cleaners after the use equipment. Cons terrible parking take your life in your own hands during peak hours. Machine constantly broken or areas closed( my maintenance fee must not be good enough to keep place running). Maybe need to recruit new members to help pay expenses. All inclusive is one of the sales pitches and I say good luck on that one. Staff is all about selling you the next item not saying they are not good people but gotta get you on the books and move to the next guy. Who knows maybe it gets better but I'm here 3 years and will update as necessary. At this moment nothing about the place make it worth any amount of money. So if you love high pressure sales tactics and overcrowding with a slice of attitude. This could be your place.

I love the club. Rebecca's Zumba class is amazing!!!

Shortly after joining NFC, I was introduced to Rebecca who teaches Zumba. She immediately poured into me by sharing her success story with me. I decided to join one of her classes which was a huge step for me, but she was sure to make everyone feel empowered and welcome. Although the class was tough and high impact, Rebecca's passion and enthusiasm left me wanting to come back for more. I have been to eight of her classes to date and I count my blessings for Rebecca. She makes it a point to dance with you if you are learning so you feel encouraged and a part of her team. Every class I've been to, she has always made it a point to come encourage and lift me up. I have already lost 8 lbs since joining Zumba with Rebecca and I look forward to every chance I have to join her for Zumba! For the first time in a long long time, I have hope because Rebecca cares!

Never go here unless you want to sign a 3 year contract that you re 100% locked into to. Really a rip off. Especially if you get relocated for work. They make you pay a huge cancellation fee.

I moved from Tennessee to Virginia 2 months ago. I have talked to member services on more than one occasion and been assured my address was updated and membership was cancelled. However, I am still being charged for a membership AND now an additional fee due to inadequate funds(because this wasn't suppose to be coming out of my account anymore). The gym may be great but the member services are NOT up to par.

Walt is the best trainer at the gym. You will get results.

I've been a member since the day NFC Signature opened, over 5 years ago. The facility is excellent -- well-equipped, super-clean, and the staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. The aquatics facility in particular is a dream come true. They have three indoor pools, open year-round, for lap swimmers, kids, and water classes, and an outdoor pool for kids and sunbathers. In the summer there's a 50 meter pool nearby. I tell all my swimmer friends to join this club!

The front desk staff is awesome, they're very energetic and fun. The facility is clean and all together an amazing gym.

Three year contract, twice the subscription cost of their competition and I have to use cellular data if I want to listen to Oandora because the wifi is terrible. Loose equipment such as bungee cords and a few other things are locked up in the personal trainer room, which is rather absurd especially considering cost of membership.

Staff is friendly, however, and there is good equipment and a variety of classes.

Love the Zumba class with Rebecca! Her classes are so fun you don t realize how much of a workout you re getting until you re sore the next day. I ve been taking her class for over 5 years and hope she never stops teaching.

I recently visited National Fitness Center as a guest from out of town and was extremely impressed with the service at the front desk. I was greeted with smiles which made me feel right at home. They explained all the details of the gym to me since I was not familiar, I definitely will be back soon.

Things are generally great at NFC. A couple of things are disappointing to me. First is the duration of time it took recently to fix the projector in the Cardio Theater. Second, I ll assume it is the communication of equipment issues in the Cardio Theater. It has been weeks since a noisy pedal (loud click once per revolution of the right pedal) on one of the recumbent bikes was turned in at the front desk. A note of the problem was written on a postit note by one of the staff, but as far as I can tell no repair yet. To make sure, I ll check it tomorrow.

I traveled on business for over 30 years and had the opportunity to workout at many fitness centers while away from home weekly. I must say that the National Fitness Center on Walbrook Drive is one of the very best fitness centers available and one that offers so many opportunities for all ages and levels. Overall, Knoxville should be pleased to have such an incredible fitness center within our area!! I've only seen one other fitness center that would compare to the level of what we have here in Knoxville! It's very hard to please all but they have done a good job maintaining this center since it opened a few years ago. Unfortunately, some members can be very nasty and disrespectful of the equipment and facility but overall it is well maintained by the staff and management. Check out the cardio theater when you take a tour...I've never seen one like this in all the gyms while traveling on business. Yes...I would definitely recommend this fitness center to all.

My partner and I have been preparing to move to middle Tennessee since February of this year. Obviously we didn t know this major change was going to happen when we signed up here in Nov 2018. They told us at first that a letter from my partners company about his job transfer was acceptable to cancel. When we presented it, they said we need proof of new residency which we didn t have until just before April. So, on March 29th I went to them directly with our new lease, which the attendant told me was fine BUT he can t do ANYTHING with it and directed me to mail it, certified, to a PO Box IN TOWN, and that I could not email it. So, I did. I paid my own money to mail it to them. Only to receive an email this week that it s NOT good enough. Now they re demanding our utility bill AND a pay stub. And they gave me an email address that s suddenly an acceptable avenue to send documents by when they refused to take anything from us that way previously. They are fighting us tooth and nail so that they can keep billing us even though we re over two hours away. DO NOT sign up with these people if you think it s possible at all that you might ever have to move. They ll sell it to you like it s an easy process to cancel but that s a total lie to get you roped in. Ridiculous.
