I always love going to the national concert hall. The building is unpretentious, the staff always most helpful. The overall feeling is one of seeming to be at a friend's place. Newer more modern buildings lose that atmosphere, effecting the interaction of patrons.
A crib at Christmas would have been nice. Even in this world of political correctness, while many of us don't practise our religion, none the less we practically all celebrate Christmas for what it actually is! Happy Christmas !

A great venue and the concert orchestra are a treat to hear.

The programming is diverse here from traditional classical fare and visiting virtuoso's to very accessible popular culture events. There are fairly frequently film soundtracks on the menu, which I must admit is my primary interest- lord of the rings, john Williams and collections of blockbuster film music. Upcoming is a Casablanca screening with a live orchestra.

I'm a fan of sitting in the choir balcony you can really see what all the musicians are doing, particularly the percussion section-so often heard and not seen!

The National Concert Hall is magnificent, along with the events hosted there. The big problem is the website as regards booking tickets. I have just thrown away a Sunday morning in the futile attempt to book 2 seats for the Sunday Miscellany concert on Dec 4th. I have given up in frustration. The booking mode is blocked on the "Gift" confirmation section and it's impossible to reach the end of the transaction. This is not the first time I have had a similar problem with this site and it is so annoying as I don't live in Ireland and cannot just "pop in". There goes a lovely Christmas present for a family member. Geraldine McC.

Love it. One tip is to pre order the interval drinks or else you will be downing them. I have been in the stalls and the balcony for an opera and would personally prefer the balcony for an unobstructed view. I would highly recommend everyone go to at least one recital or opera here.

This is my go to place for high quality concerts in Dublin. I saw classic music (The Season by Vivaldi), flamenco and classic guitar, an ukulele band and Pink Martini. The building is beautiful and the acoustic is great. There are also two bars and a small cafe, if you want a bite during the break.

The National Concert Hall is situated in the heart of Dublin City. It hosts many world famous concerts with the support of the Irish Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. Last night's New Year RTE National Symphony Orchestra held in this hall was simply splendid.

Good venue for classical and spoken word performances. Not so good for anything that involves amplified sound. If you like to watch musicians play, go for the balcony seats towards the front which afford a unique "birds eye" view of an orchestra. If you want to have a drink in comfort during the interval, be sure to order it before the show to avoid the ridiculous bar queues.

Elegant, beautiful place with a great choice of concerts for everyone. The acustic is really impressive, the view is unobstructed and the we always leave this place with the moods lifted. Of course the best concert I'd been to it was Declan O'Rourke, but it is very subjective choice (I simply love him!). There's also a bar there with nice selection of drinks and snacks, but I recommend to order early for the interval as the queue is usually long and then you will have no time to finish your drinks.
Altogether there's the lovely atmosphere of beautiful music and dance being performed there. Everyone should experience that!

An unexpected hidden gem. A great venue. Great acoustics in the main venue. Lots of smaller spaces. Car parking. 24 hour security. Ushers rather than bouncers. Three bats during showtime. None of those terrible Ticketmaster charges. LUAS nearby. South city Centre. A great venue.
