Everything is amazing and updated here, only complaint I could have is the food is very subpar. I don't expect a lot from camp food, but it was just bad. Only downfall though because this camp has just soooooooooooooo much energy and just the best camp counselors I have ever seen. :)

Great scout camp. Tons of fun! The new Epstein Pavilion is gorgeous. Many Boy Scout troops plan annual weeklong visits here. Lots of fun for the boys. Great camp sites with lovely views. Merit badge councilors are good and boys typically finish 3-7 merit badges in their week.

Its an amazing place if you're a scout. But if you work there beware. Your other leaders will help and are generally amazing but managemnet is not. They lied to me, ostracized me, and were downright rude. Reccomend if you're just a scout but again, management sucks.

My son would always rave about Camp Napowan whenever he returned from his annual pilgrimage so I had to go see what all the hoopla was about and I was very impressed. They do a great job of giving the scouts a chance to explore the different activities they have to offer while also providing structure and direction. It's a perfect blend of responsibility and privilege for an young adolescent and after attending camp with my son, I quickly understood why it was his favorite destination!
They do an excellent job of blending activities to different interests as well and you can tell that they listen to feedback and make continuous improvements while at the same time keeping the programs that have shown sustained success.
If your scout is interested in attending Lakota, give it a look because while it may be something new, it will quickly become a favorite of your scout and if you get a chance to tag along one year, make sure you take advantage of that as well.
Well done Camp Napowan!

Annual BSA troop week is a highlight - the facility strikes a good balance of rustic with modern conveniences (having hot showers available is a good thing to mandate before transporting a group of teenage males for hours in a closed vehicle after a week in the woods). The staff have consistently been top-notch in our troop's experience. And, the location includes a mercifully low level of mosquitoes most years, which helps all the experiences of adventure, learning, and fun to avoid that annoyance. For the star-struck and/or Star Wars fans, the site includes a memento from Harrison Ford's childhood, where his name appears on an annual commemorative display with other campers from a year he was there.

I attended in 2014 and I can say it was the most fun I have ever had. the food isn't great but it isn't at any camps. the counselors are very willing to help. (do the finger printing merit badge, it's easy)

Great boy scout summer camp. Tons of wonderful staff and I even applied to CIT. If you are deciding on a camp to pick, chooses this. The one blessing and curse is that you don't cook. They also have showers and flushing toilets (not at campsites though).

Great camp! Recommend. Staff are great, and care about this camp. They are very enthusiastic and consider this a dream job they would work long hours for free. The staff are happy, and will help whenever you ask

I haven't been back to Napowan since 1997 when I was on staff in Flintlock. Glad to see all of the pictures of the new updates there. I will have to try and make it up there next staff reunion.

Campsites were filthy and total lack of supplies to keep them clean. Staff was very high on themselves, but very limited interaction with the scouts. Of the 5 camps I have been to, I rated them at number 10. Even my scouts don't ever want to go back.

All 3 of my sons love this place for Boy Scout Summer camp. A wide variety of activities are available for the scouts to earn merit badges, including swimming and shooting. The camp is very large, so be prepared for some good hiking between activity locations. Be sure to see Flint Lock to see and experience how the old time pioneers lived. The scouts always had a great time, learned a lot, and have many great memories!
