Beautiful area for view the rafters coming in and for a picnic on the river!
Wonderful zipline course, and quite the white watering river!
Also 44th mile into the appalachian trail
Also, they did good coronavirus prevention work
After hiking the Appalachian Trail for a week, we ended our hike here. It was the perfect scene to emerge from the mountains into this beautiful place. We ate at the River's End and white water rafted. It was so much fun I want to go back again.
I had never been there till yesterday and it was an awesome experience I plan on coming back maybe in the summer again
The NOC team is the best! We'll keep coming back year after year.
Nathan was a great rafting guide. Had a blast. Very professional and well worth the experience .
Loved it, our guide Tony was the best!! Mimosa tree Tony, mimosa tree...lol
This was the first time seeing live music at this venue and we all had a great time. The food was decent and had huge portions at the outdoor grill. Plenty of seating and lots of fun activities for the kids to explore. Would go again!
Great for white water rafting with young kids. The water is very cold but it feels great on a hot day. The tour guides are light-hearted, crate with helping the kids and are full of interesting information about the animals and plants in the area.
My family and I just went white water rafting and it was amazing. Our guide was great and he made sure we had a good time. Also, they were very prepared for Covid 19 and made us feel very safe while we were there with all of the precautions they were taking. Highly recommended!
Very well run business with knowledgeable, fun guides who we're extremely safety conscious. We did the Zipline and Whitewater rafting package. The Zipline course has 7 ziplines, including one that is 1/2 mile long and about 300 ft. above the forest floor. Be sure to take a water bottle that has a carabiner to clip to your belt loop or harness so that you can hydrate as there are some towers to climb with quite a few steps and it gets very warm. We were first time zipliners and found it easy to get the hang of it. There were people from ages 10 to 73 enjoying the Zipline.
The raft trip was great fun and not too strenuous. There were people in our group ages 6 - 70.
It was great and fun and you can swim in the lake and cuno
Love coming here for all things! Rafting, food, fun, or just to relax!!!
KK was a GREAT guide on the raft. Very personable. Made the trip more enjoyable. Great energy and perceptive.
Excellent. Memorial weekend and a ton of fun. Clean bunk rooms, good food and a lot of friendly hikers and weekenders.
Great outdoor activity options as well as restaurant, bar and shopping/supplies
This is a great place to bring the family. We did the zip line and white water rafting
Great trip, had an amazing time! Staff is great, very nice and professional. Facilities were good, plenty of gear, lunch was perfect. Will be back soon!
If your not aquatinted with the area, stop here. The staff are friendly and knowledgable of the area. Personal experience from the staff can be very valuable. Good variety of outdoor activities to take part in. And right on the A.T.
Be careful, on a curve. Restaurant was great. Friendly people who treated everyone extremely well. Food was fantastic. Try thr Dragons Breath burger a d their pizza. WOW
We love love this place been here with our church and this time was with our granddaughters. My husband and I have been here 4 time's now .Hope to go back again
We stopped due to the rain. We were looking for a waterproof glove. The employee did not seem interested in helping us. So we left. The area is amazing, just wasn't fond of the outfitters employee.
We are from Florida. We 6 of us were there today, 10/31/2020. Garrett was our guide. He was astouding with his knowledge of the rafting process. Very gracious, with the southern hospitality. We will definitely try to make it back here.
Such a beautiful place to visit while on your journey. I stopped here to watch the water for a moment and ended up spending a significant amount of time here. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the sound of the river is so soothing. You can check out the shops, get a bite to eat, cross over the river on a low bridge, even sit along the bank and just relax. I absolutely loved it. This is definitely a must visit destination.
Best place to start your whitewater fun. Many rivers to choose at different skill levels. 50 foot alpine tower is awesome.
My friends and I went white water kayaking here and had a great time. The staff was super friendly, the river was a lot of fun, and the prices were very reasonable.
Great people, nice courtious staff. Awesome river woohoo.
What a great day at NOC! We did the day adventure pass and had a blast. Mountain biking, zipline, lunch at River's End Restaurant, shopping, fun on the lake kayaking and paddle boarding and the grand finale rafting on the rapids. Great family fun. Will definitely be going back!
Great place to just to sit down just relax and enjoy.
Great guided duckies tour. Lunch after was delicious and reasonably priced.
Beautiful setting! Well stock store, reasonable. Helpful staff. Answered all our questions.
This is a great place to experience the outdoor with friends and family. They have rafting, kayaking, hiking, biking and a zip line. What a great adventure! You might need 2-3 days in order to participate in all of the activities.
Such an amazing place to stop after and Epic hike down from Wessler Bald
A once great outfitter that is now partnered with Subaru and Coca-Cola, they have passable corporate food, solidly corporate outdoor experiences, and a decent selection of outdoor gear.
But generally?
Sorry, NOC, but you're doing it WRONG.
We love this place. We have to stop everytime we're in NC. The tours are amazing, the guides are very knowledgeable, and there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Well run operation, good time. Rapids were weak but no fault of this place
It's an outdoor Mecca. They've got literally any type of activity you'd want. From mountain biking, hiking and zip lining to rafting and ropes courses, there are few better places to enjoy being outside. The GAF is a blast every year, and there are 2 restaurants and an outfitter onsite. You can pick a better place for outdoorspeople.
I love the NOC. A perfect like store top full in the gaps between what you thought you packed and what you actuary arrived with. We visit the Nantahala 4 or 5 times a year and each time we visit, we end up buying several things at the NOC, mostly little things that my daughter wants (where else can you find a baby dear stuffed animal that isn't bambi related? lol)
Parking can be tough for large vehicles, but cant wait to go back next year
Cool place! Attended a wilderness EMT class here. Excellent instruction! Lodging is decent, I recommend Dogwood Motel!
After driving 4 hours to raft the girl at the counter informed us that there had been a landslide the previous and that we were not going to be able to raft. Obviously we were confused and upset because we had not received a call or any notice before coming to our reservation. She was no help. She had no sympathy. She offered no answers about why we had not received a call even going as far as saying yeah so I m pretty sure they called you and cancelled your reservation so... . I m typically a very understanding guy, I do not leave bad reviews, and I understand the landslide was out of anyone s control. However I m just saying as a company you should make sure you get in contact with people before canceling someone s reservation and most importantly you should train your employees to have even an ounce of customer service. Had that girl been anything other than rude we definitely would ve loved to go zip lining or something of the sort.
Good times at the NOC. Grab a bite. Watch the kayaks. Have a beer and relax.
Loved everything about this place, the atmosphere to treatment the whole experience
Well stocked for rafting, kayaking, and general outdoors gear.
Started and Ended my 5 day Labor Day hike here. Stayed in the bunk house one night before starting my trek. Enjoyable place to talk with other like minded hikers.
I took my 3 kids (ages 9-11) on this trip, which I booked online for our vacation in Asheville. None of us had ever been whitewater rafting before. We all had a blast and the kids are excited to try more difficult courses (they were fighting over who got to ride in the front). Our guide, Harrison, was top-notch, and was great with working with kids (even with a child who lost his paddle about 5 times). It was a chilly day, but NOC provided all the wetsuit gear to make it a nice time. Lunch was wonderful, with a great selection, and was on a beautiful island in the middle of the river. We will definitely be back and probably will plan a trip to Asheville just so we can go again. Highly recommend. No trip to Asheville would be complete without a rafting trip with NOC.
This was a stop on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad tour. It was a nice, cool, and refreshing pit stop. The staff at the General store were helpful and pleasant.
Did a two adventure day trip of zip lining and whitewater rafting. Had a blast! The guides were professional and helpful. Will definitely return next summer!
Great staff friendly and helpful. Although their t-shirts even on sale are a little overpriced for what you're getting but I understand. Visitors be careful of walking across the street to the General Store and parking people do not slow down at the mandatory stop.
Good fod, great beer, ad lot of options for staying overnight.
I did not participate in any of their activities and their food was good however their coleslaw was pretty bitter
I went rafting with my family and we had a lot of fun however the guides were not fast to react in emergency situations. They just freeze up and do nothing. I would not recommend you go with this company.
It's early in the season but still lots of happy hikers and rafters here having a ball. Primo spot for rafting and kayaking camping and hiking. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience here. The people are fantastic, truly something for the whole family.
