Naepc: The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils
The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) is a professional organization that focuses on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards in estate planning. With over 2,500 members across the United States, NAEPC is dedicated to providing its members with the resources they need to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in estate planning.
At NAEPC, we believe that estate planning is an essential part of financial planning. It involves creating a plan for how your assets will be distributed after you pass away, as well as making sure that your loved ones are taken care of in the event of your death or incapacity. Our mission is to help our members provide their clients with comprehensive estate plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
One of the key benefits of being a member of NAEPC is access to our extensive network of professionals in the field. Our membership includes attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance professionals, trust officers, and other experts who specialize in estate planning. By connecting with other professionals through NAEPC events and resources, our members can expand their knowledge base and offer more comprehensive services to their clients.
Another benefit of membership in NAEPC is access to our educational resources. We offer a variety of webinars, seminars, conferences, and other events throughout the year that cover topics such as tax law changes affecting estates; charitable giving strategies; business succession planning; retirement income distribution strategies; asset protection techniques; elder law issues; special needs trusts; international estate planning considerations; ethics for estate planners; fiduciary responsibilities for trustees and executors; digital asset management strategies; family dynamics issues related to inheritance disputes or blended families.
In addition to these educational opportunities for our members themselves we also have programs designed specifically for consumers seeking information about how best plan their estates including our Estate Planning Awareness Week, which is held annually in October. During this week, NAEPC members across the country host events and seminars to educate the public about estate planning and its importance.
NAEPC also offers a variety of professional designations for our members who have demonstrated a high level of expertise in estate planning. These designations include Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®), Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS), Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®), and others. By earning one or more of these designations, our members can demonstrate their commitment to excellence in their field and differentiate themselves from other professionals.
At NAEPC, we are committed to promoting the highest standards of professionalism and ethics among our members. We have established a Code of Ethics that all members must adhere to, which includes principles such as integrity, confidentiality, competence, objectivity, fairness, diligence and professionalism.
