Best little bookstore for those who are mostly interested in Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and the like! The staff is very friendly and courteous. This is not a consignment store, all books are full priced. Still awesome though!

A cozy nook of a book store, it smells like.... books~
Very knowledgeable staff and honestly you can just get lost in its tiny confines chasing book covers, authors, and genres walking back and forth!
They have mixed media available such as audio books and certain limited edition audio books on LP.
The majority of their stacks are arranged floor to just above eye level, and the taller stack are floor to ceiling. Recommendations by staff are solid, can t go wrong as long as you have a good idea what you are interested in!
They also offer a small line of apparel and canvas bags.

I love the selection of books and the way that they're organized, however the genres of books are more oriented towards suspense and adventure. The people there are also super nice and they hold book/series related or themed parties where everyone is welcome. I also have a good time when I'm there.

The people are super friendly, helpful and love their jobs. I've been coming to this book store for a few years now and am never disappointed. To be honest, I'll pay a few extra dollars to buy from these guys just because I like the people and the theme so much. Great store!

There is not enough good things to say about this store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. From some one who worked in a book store for more than 10 years I can with confidence these folks are pros. Plus great independent artist sell their goods here too.

This is my far one of my FAVORITE places in all of CA . I could spend hours there.The staff is so friendly and nice.Their selection of books is extensive and are usually more affordable than at other bookstores like Barnes & Noble.There are are always the stands outside where you can buy used books for like $1.I cant stress enough how great this bookstore is!

A great bookstore encompassing clerks who are experts in their stock. They have opinions about most of what they sell. I buy all my paperback books there.

Fantastic book store, focusing on Scifi, fantasy and horror. Signings and events are a regular occurrence. They will ship signed books for you if you're not able to make the events.

This place is really nice. It has all the latest books, but also some off the wall, hard to find works. Very friendly staff and nice local joint. Well worth a visit. I buy from here before hitting Borders, because I like the small business, smart and friendly feeling I get each time I enter the store.

I LOVE this place, as soon as you walk in you can see that this is not the typical bookstore. Reviews and drawings left on books in notecards detailing and recommending everything was just a great experience. They also have regular guest authors and signings from Big Names! My favorite new bookstore by far!

I love to support the little guys when I can. The ownership here really cares about their customers, and responds well to requests. The staff doesnt always greet you when you walk in or pester you with questions while you look, but they make sure you know they are there when you need it. I prefer it this way and find the overt customer service in a bookstore to be over the top. Lastly, the bookstore is dedicated to Fantasy/SciFi/Horror which is the main reason I go to the bookstore, so it takes away all the other distractions. Oh and the live author signings is an added bonus. Even if you miss the signing they usually sell a few extra signed books.

This is a great independent bookstore! They focus on SF/Fantasy and mystery. In addition to a great selection of books for adults, they also have really good children and YA selections. Lastly, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and are able to make extremely useful selections. We are lucky to have them in San Diego!

This is THE local bookstore of San Diego. Nerds rejoice! Every book you could want, with chatty and knowledgeable workers, and authors coming in every week for signings and events (even big NYT bestsellers!). I really loved this place.

Though it looks like it's off the beaten path a bit, it's actually not hard (or time consuming) to get there.

This is a wonderful bookstore. Every time I visit San Diego, I stop by and buy a few books. The store emphasis is on Science Fiction, Mysteries and Thillers which suits me fine. There is a special young adult section as well. The store is inviting and well laid out. Many of the books have personalized information cards that give add information. They also carry many signed editions. Side note, among my purchases this time, was a signed copy of Neal Stephenson's latest. It might be possible to get books cheaper elsewhere, if people don't support this store, they will have lost a true treasure. Highly recommended.
