Not great! Service was dismissive and unfriendly, but perhaps that was just our waiter. Others seemed much nicer.

Food had potential but wasn t great. They give you white bread with your hummus which was kind of weird. Ordered the giant baked beans and those were yummy, but roasted eggplant was mediocre.

Great view of the canal with ducks and other birds for make for a great restaurant setting. The restaurant was pretty full on a Monday night for dinner.

Can't believe how good the food is, I would however recommend splitting an appetizer and the entree. It's a true authentic Greek place, they do not skimp on the quality and especially the portions. Do yourself a favor take home a feta cheese appetizer, it's basically a brick for $7 it's made with goat's milk the authentic way. And save room for dessert, or take one home. I can't praise this place enough, bit on the pricey side but worth it for the quality.

The food here is amazing. Who ever had a negative comment must be a competitor or maybe there was just a really bad day. Everything that we have eaten here was def made from scratch. BEST HUMUS I'VE EVER HAD!

I went for the first time with my husband and dad this past weekend, and this place is amazing. The food was flavorful and if you re not a big eater you will definitely have delicious leftovers.

Greek-style restaurant located in the exclusive Fort Lauderdale. Very slow service, we waited almost an hour and a half to receive the order. Waiting in vain since the dishes were very uneatable, only the lamb chops and the Greek salad were saved. Prawns passable but with an absurd price (4 euros each). Approximate service. Not to go back. Photos of leftovers.

Big Fat waste of time and money. I was really looking forward to this restaurant. Received $100 gift certificate for my B-Day. The place was very busy when we arrived, Which was about 30 minutes before closing. We Both ordered the Gyro plate on the recommendation of the waiter. This came with meat, Greek salad, peas and mashed potatoes. The food arrived about five minutes later. The meet was dried out and tasteless. After taking a few bites I summoned the waiter and asked him why the meat is is dry and resembles beef jerky. He explained that after they cut it from the skewer they then place it on a tray which then steams the meat. I question why they just couldn't cut it from the skewer and serve it that way. He said he could have, but I didn't request it that way. He explained others that know better will request that it be served direct from the skewer without the steamed process. I explained that it was not to my liking and requested they bring another order. He told me the kitchen was now closed and he would talk to the manager about crediting the meal. I explained that I did not complain because I wanted a free meal, just an order of meat that was not dry and tasteless. When they brought me the bill they didn't comp my meal, they gave me a $6.00 discount. The manager never bothered to come over to the table. When I handed the waiter my $100 gift certificate,I explained that I would like to pay my tip from the gift certificate. He came back a short while later and explained that if I did want to leave a tip, it could not be taken from the gift certificate. I've never heard of this before at any other restaurant I've ever been to. As much as I wanted to like this place and the food, it was just not happening for me.

I had the stuffed grape leaves for an appetizer and then we both had the chicken lemon soup. My friend ordered the cucumber tomato Olive & feta salad with grilled chicken and I had the moussaka. The tomato and chicken and cucumber and feta salad looked really really good and I wished I had got that instead of the moussaka. The moussaka was just okay. It did not have lamb in it they used ground beef instead and the eggplant I don't think it was fried prior to assembly but you would think in a Greek restaurant you would get a good moussaka because that's like their national dish and it was mediocre. My friend told me I should have got this Souvlaki or what he got cuz that did look good but I would not order moussaka again at this Greek restaurant again. The bill for three entrees one appetizer and two soups with $75

This place is a good family owned and operated restaurant.. The location is unique. The menu has the usual Greek fair: lamb chops, giro, whole fish and a recipe for hummus (complimentary) that is very delicious. The bread is out of this world! If you seek garlic, extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, parsley and and a really good tyme, this garden spot will not disappoint you. The food however, is sometimes extremely salty and the staff not as professional as you might expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

One thing that they might consider would be a bathroom renovation. The bathrooms are old and not particularly clean looking. At the end of the day, "My Big Fat Greek Restaurant has untapped potential if the owner will look and make some positive changes toward a professional wait staff, nicer bathrooms and the realization that "salt" is not a healthy flavor enhancer.

UPDATE***********

I returned to the restaurant last week with my niece for coffee and desert. The waiter was very attentive and a real professional. That made a big difference in my perception. I am upgrading my rating to 4 stars.

Very good food and staff. They are really nice and are knowledgeable about their menu and restaurant. The Hommus is splendid and just incredible. Love the salad and the chicken. Great vibes and friendly feel!

Met a friend for dinner. The facility is clean, non assuming. Note if you are heading west off 95 on Griffin it is easy to miss. Even with my gps I drove past it. Fortunately we ate late, it was a bit noisy, however by 9pm on Wednesday most people were wrapping it up. I was looking forward to catching up as I was in from out of town.

Outstanding food. Lovely wait staff. I had the chicken kabob over rice, peas, grilled onions and oddly a side of potatoes. It was out of this world! I would give it a 10 plus for the food if I could. Highly recommend.

We went to try this place for the first time, but we did not. It was 9 p.m. and we went in, but they told us it was closed. Google and their menu says they closes at 10 p.m. Very bad first and last impression because we are not coming back!

I have been coming here for years absolutely adore this place! The quality and flavor of the food is superb and the portions are huge! I've never had a meal I didn't love here. The pita bread is so fresh, try it with the tzatziki sauce, you won't be disappointed. Situated on a canal, you can opt for indoor or waterfront dining. The owners are always there and are such an awesome family! Just go, you will not regret it :)

Me and my wife first time...we arrived at 815 parking was alittle full. Walk ins may take a few extra mins but they seated us right away. We ordered, did arrive promptly. I never tried Greek food before....one word...... WOW!!! my taste buds were dancing. All the food down to the bread are all fresh. Very different mix of spices but wow!!! Ok you made me a believer of how much i am missing. We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the music, bellydancer, and the overall experience. To all patrons coming here....please wait and be patient...the food is out of this world...it will make you turn Greek!! Thank you for allowing us to experience this humble restaurant. Lemon with chicken and rice soup?? Wow!! Awesome!!
