I am in love with Afro World! The energy here is ALWAYS golden and the people that you will encounter on a daily basis are truly one of a kind.
Afro World has just about anything and everything that you could ever want and need which is why this establishment has stood the test of time...nearly 50 years to be exact! From their humble beginnings, dating back to 1970 up until now, I think it's safe to say that Afro World is here to stay! Let's continue to celebrate US as keepers of the culture by supporting one of St.Louis' very own staples in the community - Afro World.

This place is way to expensive! I bought two small pieces of cut off cloth, with no writing or anything and it costs me $45! The skirts they had in this store cost double for the the same skirt that the beauty supply sell for a way cheaper price. I felt like the person who at the cash register was crocked. She rung me up the first time and tried to charge me $60 then I said that was to much and then she rung me up again for the $45. This place is not honest. It is sad that our own people try to scam us like that. SMH

I was greeted with great energy and a smile by the owner. Due to this pandemic and social distancing, they are operating through their drive up window which was good with this 90+ degree weather, I was grateful I did not have to exit my vehicle to be serviced. She informed me of the sales and new merchandise, assisted with one of a kind items I had no idea they carried, and allowed me to see colorful pieces that matched a garment I wanted for an event. I will definitely share with others and plan to shop here again.

Afro World is a well established business in this community. They offer African inspired clothing, home decor items, jewelry, accessories and books. Fiction and nonfiction books are available, calendars, posters and other paper goods with an ethnic flair. The store has served as host for fashion shows and book events. But like many small businesses some items are pricey. It can be worth it for hard to find ethnic goods.
