Went to getaway 2017 this weekend, was the best camp experience I ever had. (And I love camp). So many great memories, great staff and facility, good food and pretty much anything you ever needed and wanted from a camp. Great job and I hope to see you in March!

One night when I was 13 and staying here I put on a black poncho with a big hood that covered my face and walked around camp with a large stick. Because the poncho covered my face, I couldn't really see and I accidentally wandered into the little kids' section of camp, the counselors thought I was there on purpose to scare the kids and when they confronted me I ran away. The next night I got a stern talking-to from the actual camp director and the head of the section I was in. It's a very high quality camp overall (food is pretty good most of the time, there is a wide range of activities you don't see at most camps, bathrooms are actual flush toilets instead of outhouses), but I feel like maybe you didn't have to be so dramatic about some kid in a poncho not wanting to talk to counselors and running around before curfew. However, the counselors in my cabin and the people directing my activities have always been kind and accommodating, so I do not hold this against the camp staff.

I worked here in the summer of 2007 as a mountain bike instructor. It was an amazing experience. The food was great! The facilities were truly awesome. My photo's might not still be relevant however might be a throw back for others.

I haven't actually been to this camp yet and looking at it it i ALREADY want school to be over SOOOOO much!!!! There are SOOOO many activities to choose from INCLUDING BMX!!! How crazy is that? My friends say it sucks and that its not a "real hardcore camp" but whatever!!! Overtime I go to camp, i always have second thoughts. But for this one, I haven't looked back once about registering!
Only problems: Its kinda expensive and my friend who has a low budget may not be able to come

5 stars

AMAZING! shows how beautiful canada can be. good how there is not too much of a phone/food restriction so kids can contact their parents and eat in the cabins. cabin clean up is super fun and convenient. i met lifelong friends there and i had an incredible time. only wish is for better food for picky eaters and getting medication to kids faster. I will see you next year!! the letters taht you get from your counsler is also so nice. (my favourite part was when my cabin won cabin of the week!) i loved it so much i cried the whole ride home and for 2 days almost straight because i missed it so much.
so many memories and also even if your not christian it s amazing! i m jewish but i still went. they had options to do non christian things so i did that but once i decided to go to the christian thing and it was also amazing. camp is a bit expensive but very worth it. the tuck shop is pretty awesome but the hoodies and stuff are way overpriced especially saying from how much the camp costs anyways. i still miss this place and i really really hope next year is just as fun and i ll be just as lucky. (finding death johnny is also SUPER fun!!)

Back in 2017 I was supposed to Thrive again this summer but Lara actually forgot to sign me up she told me I should go to an overnight camp and I watch the video, check out the website and the schedule all about it. It was nice overnight camp but I ended up doing Challenge League Baseball in the summer.

I'm not much for writing reviews, but this is by far the best camp I've ever been too; the experience is truly unbelievable. Their property is located up North in Muskoka, next to lake Rosseau which makes for unreal wake boarding and water skiing, both of which are skills taught by experienced instructors at the resort. I think what separates MW from most camps though is how enthusiastic and genuine their staff are. Having gone to the camp for 3 years now I can vouch that all the staff at the camp, genuinely want to get to know the guests and make every week at the camp, an unforgettable experience. If there is any concern, it is addressed immediately, and carefully. Their customer service is near impeccable; you'll experience it when you get there!

The food was absolutely amazing at Muskoka woods the consolers were amazing bullying is a hudge thing at Muskoka woods I got bullied and nothing was done about it the way I got treated and the fact that they didn't deal with it I will probably never go back PARENTS think again before sending your kids to this camp

My daughter had a wonderful time, the councillors were really helpful when she was feeling homesick, the staff are super caring and attentive, food is a high quality, and the programs are excellent.

If you've already booked, or you're wondering if you should go, TRUST ME. Muskoka Woods is a camp like no other. Yes, it is very expensive, but I'm telling you, it's so worth it. The food is delicious, I don't understand why someone rated this badly because they got sick. It has healthier options, and basically anything you feel like. The cabins are great, but it's not luxury (duh, it wouldn't be camp if you had your own room with a luxury bed). The people who said "the bathrooms are fairly dirty", you guys, first of all, you're the one who made the mess, and second of all, this is summer camp; this is what makes camp so special. The activities are AMAZING, they have all the classics like ropes course (which is the bomb, its the biggest ropes course in Ontario), arts and crafts and mountain biking, but also super cool modern activities like cake decorating, BMX, fine art, fashion design and wellness!! I think what really makes MW so special though, is the staff. They choose staff from all around the world, and they're some of the most kind, understanding and FUN people I've ever met. Even if the food's terrible, the activities are not fun, you didn't get any sleep, (but it's the exact opposite for all of those really.) you`ll still have an amazing time because the counsellors are there to inspire you and make you have fun whether you want to or not ;).
If you`re shy and aren`t nessacarily sporty, you`re like me. Everything they offer there is amazing for everyone, it doesnt matter what you like or who you are. I made AAAMMMMAAAZZZINNNGGG friendships, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAzzZZZZZZZZZINGGGG memories, and gained so much confidence.
So trust me, Muskoka woods is that (look up) kind of place. Thank you *bows*

EDIT: if you looked through the pictures, you can see that the beds dont look very good. I think that those pictures are outdated, the current ones are perfect.

My daughter has a great time every time she goes, so she's been going every year for the last 3 years. I like the wide variety of activities. However, water sports are hit or miss; when she took windsurf, she practically didn't get to do it at all because of not enough wind; water-ski also hit or miss. My biggest concern is that every year she comes back with parasites: first year: pinworm and Giardia, last 2 years, lice. They have lice checks but they are sketchy, as per my daughter. I don't think I'm sending her again.
